Here's an idea

Don't put labs working with fatal viruses in highly populated cities! Of course I know Atlanta was not a major city when CDC was established there, but it is now. Move these things to Labrador or else we'll have our own "Wuhan moment"

No, that's not happening R1. The scientists who told us nuclear power is "safe" even though the waste products are deadly for tens of thousands of years and none of the buildings are designed to last as long as 200 years? Scientists can be morons just like everybody else. and are frequently extremely poor at assessing risks and probabilities.

When the first atom bomb was to be tested some scientists believed that it might ignite the atmosphere. They generally concluded that that wouldn't happen, though it wasn't a certainty. But let's give it a try and see.
