He’s only 62 but has the deep, deep wrinkles and saggy skin of an 80-year-old chain smoker who tans every day.
Why does Andrew Cuomo look so old?

Too much sun. That is classic too much sun

by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 23, 2020 4:19 PM |
Yeah - I agree, he doesn't look great. He is 62 and is 12 years older than his brother Chris, so it's hard to compare the two because their age difference is so big.
His dad wasn't exactly a looker either though.

His brother probably took communications classes in college where, much like radio hosts and news anchors, they lose their accents and [bold]generally[/bold] don’t have an accent from anywhere.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 23, 2020 4:28 PM |
Because he's ugly & he always has been.
He also thinks he’s going to be the first Italian American President

Asked to describe Cuomo, people who know him use words like “ambitious,,” “arrogant,” “annoying.”
Lots of A words

For 62 he's not bad looking.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 23, 2020 4:40 PM |
For years, I could not stand Andrew Cuomo. I will say, however, that he has redeemed himself in the past two weeks as a true leader, unlike the needy, untalented narcissist running the country.

I would say he's doing quite a shitty job in NYC. All he does is say "Gimme, gimme, gimme." He was actually wining on TV how NY should get all the help and California, and Illinois he shouldn't compete with. NY along with Washington and California, and Illinois had the first cases and it is much better there.

I agree, that probably happened. A friend's father taught diction and dialect classes to journalism students years ago and he said there were some who weren't able to completely get rid of regional accents.

R10, you're an idiot. There are over15,000 cases in New York state. The next state is New Jersey with 1,914. California is next with 1,800. New York should be getting more because it's much more in need. He did NOT say New York should get all the help, you fucking tool.

He has Italian Carb Face. You eat one way all your life and then you hit your 60's and you break. Andrew broke.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 23, 2020 5:16 PM |
Carb face? What the fuck is that? He doesn't;t have carb body.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 23, 2020 5:18 PM |
I can definitely see "arrogant." I can see "annoying." I will add a non-"A" word: Insufferable. But he's good in a crisis. You know why? Because he always expects the worse. So when it happens he's ready for it. He is also narcissistic enough to believe he can fix whatever it is. I'm very glad he is Governor. But I don't think I could stand to live with him. Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 23, 2020 5:20 PM |
R17, I'm Italian. I recognize Carb Face when I see it. A lot of Southern Italians have it. And red meat too. Definitely. You can exercise it away or even go on a diet to get in shape, but your face will tell the tale. I betcha Andrew doesn't eat the same way today, maybe, but he sure as shit was raised with it. I knew Mario. He was a lean man.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 23, 2020 5:22 PM |
R10, idiot: there are actually now a reported 20, 875 cases in New York state. New York needs and deserves more help coming to it.

by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 23, 2020 5:25 PM |
I've never liked Cuomo. But he's being a real leader, which Dump is unable and unwilling to do, and Cuomo is representing state that has over 10 times more cases than any other state in the country. He's on TV every day to give updates, e talks about what he's attempting to buy and acquire for the state--in short, he makes you feel someone is in charge. Which is more than anyone can say about the cunt in chief.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 23, 2020 5:32 PM |
Why must be so over critical of people aging? If they go natural we say they look haggard, if they get plastic surgery they look like freaks. When can we all just accept that age brings wrinkles and deep lines. It’s the circle of life! Enjoy your age, because many do not have the luxury of getting older.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 23, 2020 5:35 PM |
R23, it's anonymous queens posting, who probably have faces like gorgons and three chins. It's a sad aspect of gay life that so many queens are obsessed with losing their looks and desperately trying to stay young.

by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 23, 2020 5:50 PM |
I find Andrew is a lot like Gov. Mario Cuomo. He's tough, no-nonsense and gets things done. Another quality he shares with his late father: he doesn't seem fazed by people who don't like them. And I can believe that he would hold a grudge for anyone who crossed him. LOL.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 23, 2020 5:53 PM |
Thank you, r15.
Also, r10, he wasn’t “whining” (not wining) about them getting more help only. He was also talking about them being in the competition with vendors for supplies which is causing gouging.
What I don’t understand is why an entity such as the federal government can’t step in about that.
Cuomo said they were paying 80¢ per mask and they’re now paying $7.00 for them because of gouging (his words, not mine). Someone smarter than me will have to explain why the federal government can’t step in and say, “Bitch please. You charged 80¢ and made a profit. You’ll sell them now for $1.00 so you’ll make a little more profit, but that’s it!”
Also why Cuomo isn’t shaming those companies publicly and saying they are engaging in profiteering during a pandemic I don’t get.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 23, 2020 7:01 PM |
He's doing his job. I couldn't care less about his Italian facial features and accent.
While his rambling commentaries can be a bit exhausting at times; he's explained the circumstanes coherently, with details, and is trying to deliver the serious truth.
Compare that to the inept decisions of the Governors of Florida, Mississippi, and several other states who have been criticized for inaction/neglect related to the pandemic.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 23, 2020 7:29 PM |

Chris is the milkman's child.

Brothers often look quite different, yet related. In their 20s Chris was a very handsome like a prince in a Renaissance painting while, Andrew looked like a “Godfather” extra - both very Italian but in different ways . Actually given how he looked as a younger guy Andrew hasn’t aged that badly; his dad had more of a hang-dog look at 60.

Local governments in NYS are comparatively weak by virtue of state constitution and other factors. Across the river in NJ local governments are far stronger and have powers those in NY can only dream about.
There are so many ways Albany can (and does) fuck with NYC and other local governments. Mayors of NYC only recently got back control of pubic school system (under Bloomberg), and even that needs periodic extensions from Albany.
However there are reasons for so much power being concentrated in Albany, especially when it comes to local NYC government. Tammany Hall and so forth are top of that list.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 23, 2020 10:44 PM |
The reason why Mario did not file for nomination was because of something his kids had been up to. It was said at the time IIRC. Chris would have been too young. And the mafia thing too. That could have just been a racist canard but remember the mafia was very powerful in New York then.
But if you never heard Mario on the issues facing America you have not heard the articulation of judiciousness and the height of political oratory. Obama is a trifle by comparison.

I was watching the Governor on Cuomo's CNN show. He kept prefacing his responses with "Christopher..." in a manner that sounded condescending. And CC would appear completely impassive whenever he said it.
It made me uncomfortable to watch because my siblings have been even more cold and dismissive to me during this crisis, so I had to turn the channel. They're older than me so I think it could be that they don't want me to be worried about them -- or it could just be that they're @ssholes.

Chris is attractive (for someone his age), but his hyperaggressiveness is almost impossible for me to deal with during all this. last week when his broiher shut down New York, he opened his evening newscast as if he had just won the lottery, and was booming: "TODAY comes the BIGGEST story yet out of the coronavirus epidemic: the state of NEW YORK has been SHUT DOWN! This is the BIGGEST STORY YET!" He was practically shouting. I decided then and there to stop watching his show.
I see CNN keeps advertising the banter the two of them have when Andrew appears on Chris's show as if it were adorable on their website--I've stopped watching Chris's show so i have no idea how adorable it is, but I doubt it is very. It seems unprofessional to me on both their parts.
Andrew looks awful--his skin is so flabby and saggy. I heard nothing but bad things about him as governor because all my new York friends thought he was corrupt, bullying, and vindictive, but although his face looks like a Shar Pei's ass, I have to admit that when i've seen him on other news shows than his brother's this week he's been statesmanlike and has shown a lot of presence.
I am pretty sick of the nepotism in this country. Both of CNN's two biggest anchors, Chris Cuomo and Anderson Cooper, have their jobs because iof who their parents were. They're smart men, but neither of them would be where they are today if they had been born Chris Smith and Anderson Jones from Salina, Kansas (especially not Anderson, with his stammer).

Andrew has always been jealous of Chris. Chris was the pretty one. He got more cuddles. He got away with more. Andrew was the dour, dutiful, responsible older bro, and if Chris did anything wrong, Andrew got blamed. So ifMama and Papa were at some gathering in Queens looking for votes, and Andrew had to baby sit he better not let anything get fucked up or no matter who did it he would get the blame. I thought Andrew sounded sympathetic when he said Chris never wanted to be a lawyer but daddy Mario would have said, if you don't do what I say, get your ass out of this house. And that he admired Chris for taking the leap and leaving his law firm to be a journalist, even though Andrew worried and warned him it was too late.
Seems like a better-than-usual brotherly relationship - probably due to the huge age gap.
