Did he say today he would have Betsy DeVos on Sunday to come and spew and spread her lies and evilness?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 22, 2020 2:05 AM |
I think the biggest entertainment factor to trumps daily updates is the way staffers respond while they do the reports. What I mean by that is the best majority of them give credit to the president for the information theyâre about to provide as if he thought of it I by himself. I note the one woman who wasnât doing the kissing ass thing wasnât on the last press update.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 22, 2020 2:06 AM |
God, the man is ignorant. Then again I guess we all know that. Who voted for this fool?

R3 Racist white trash voted for Trump.

OH!
This wouldn't have happened if Hillary Clinton had won
By Max Boot Columnist
March 21, 2020 at 6:35 p.m. EDT
Because of Trumpâs negligence, the United States lost two months of response time â precious days that should have been used to test the population, produce more N95 masks and ventilators, and build new hospital beds. This past week, the Pentagon finally announced that a Navy hospital ship would be heading to New York â but it will take at least two weeks to get ready. Why wasnât the deployment order given sooner? Even now, with the crisis upon us, Trump hesitates to use his full authority to order wartime production of ventilators needed to keep thousands of patients alive.
Utterly lacking in empathy, Trump is incapable of rallying a shell-shocked nation. When asked on Friday, âWhat do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?,â Trump launched into a tirade against the reporter who asked the question. Like the snake-oil salesman that he is, his version of reassurance is to tout miracle cures that have not been verified by medical science.
I weep in anger and frustration imagining what might have been if Hillary Clinton â a sane, sensible adult â had won. We couldnât have avoided the coronavirus, but we could have ameliorated its effects. We could be South Korea (102 deaths) rather than Italy (4,825 deaths and counting).
It was precisely because we were afraid of how Trump would mishandle his weighty responsibilities that some âNever Trumpâ conservatives supported Clinton in 2016. On May 8, 2016, I wrote in the Los Angeles Times: âThere has never been a major party nominee in U.S. history as unqualified for the presidency. The risk of Trump winning, however remote, represents the biggest national security threat that the United States faces today.â

[quote]Some of the people we cut, they havenât used for many, many years, and if we have ever need them we can get them very, very quickly. And rather than spending the moneyâIâm a business person. I donât like having thousands of people around when you donât need them. When we need them, we can get them back very quickly.â
This asshole actually thinks that if there weren't a current pandemic the CDC all sat around with the thumbs up their ass. So he decimates them and expects to flash the Bat Signal and they will all convene in a moments notice. Anyone who puts their life and the lives of their families in this fool's hands deserve what they get.

Cuomo is doing a presser right now, I'm watching on CBSN.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 22, 2020 4:46 PM |
Cuomo is really stressing how Federal Govt should be ordering the supplies (masks, ventilators, etc.) because suppliers/manufacturers are creating a bidding war between States. He presents and backs up his points well.
On the other hand, he believes the test kits should be ordered by the States themselves, again he backs up his points well.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 22, 2020 4:58 PM |
Cuomo is now speaking in hypotheticals, keeps repeating "Assume the Federal Government does nothing..." Cheetolini is gonna be pissed.
Now he is going in on the 2008 corporate bailouts and executives who got bonuses...
Go Andy.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 22, 2020 5:07 PM |
^But, hasn't Jarad Kushner's family opened up private businesses to take advantage of this? There are people who are looking to profit off of all this. That's why nothing is getting done. Too many people looking for greedy opportunities. While Trump definitely can smell a dollar he's not that smart. Others are pushing him in this direction. Trump definitely wants a piece of that hotel bailout. That's why he is pushing it so much.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 22, 2020 5:09 PM |
This is what a Press Conference should be.
Cuomo's request for Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA to build temporary hospitals makes sense.

Hahaha----just had a REVEALING PROJECTION: Said in the past it was difficult to fire people...if they were SADISTIC...." Who says this, in regards to termination of employment?!
"After we've won...." There he goes again, pretending he's Churchill ( remember when he stood enraged in Churchill's war-room bunker bedroom?).

No, Trump, there won't be any "victory." That's his mantra now.
I am a war President. We are at war. We will be victorious. And I care, so you don't remember that I called Peter whatshisname a dishonest reporter for trying to get me to say this yesterday. It's a vicious thing. We will win and be victorious and you'll be back to buying stuff very soon, and the economy will skyrocket!
Okay, the above isn't a quote, but it's basically what Trump said.

Jake Tapper@jaketapper·1h
A source close to Senator Rand Paul explains the events of the last couple weeks: A week and a half or so ago, Sen. Paul shut down his offices because of the coronavirus, telling his staff to work from home.
2/ On March 15, it was reported that two individuals at an event he attended in Kentucky -- Speed Art Museum's March 7 "Speed Ball" event -- tested positive for coronavirus.
3/ The source close to Paul says the senator was confident he hadn't interacted with the two so he didn't think much of it, but then he thought about the particular vulnerability of those with respiratory and lung issues.
4/ Last August, as a result of complications from the neighbor who assaulted him in 2017, Paul had surgery that removed part of his lungs; he still occasionally experiences shortness of breath. Given that, source says, even though he was asymptomatic, he decided to play it safe.
5/ He got the test six or seven days ago, this source says. He felt fine, had no symptoms, and did not think he had coronavirus. He went about his daily life, including lunching with colleagues last week and going to the Senate gym this morning.
6/ Afterwards he got the results of the test and learned he had tested positive. As soon as he heard that, the source says, he left the Senate immediately.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | March 23, 2020 1:32 AM |
Yes, but VP Pence said that if you aren't feeling any symptoms, then you should not get tested. I guess it's okay to be an asymptomatic carrier and infect the people around you as long as you said a prayer this morning.

R224, what this stupid fool is attempting to say is that we can somehow miraculously lift the âstay at homeâ recommendations (what he calls the alleged âcureâ) after next week. That is, of course, insane. No doctor or scientist is credibly making that assertion. Moreover, and quite sadly, most of our fellow citizens have utterly and selfishly failed to follow the simple guidance to stay home except to get food or in a real emergency. So âthe cureâ hasnât actually been applied, except among a small group of people. tRumpâs tweet is incredibly dangerous because it will make the task of extending the stay-at-home recommendation â or making it stricter â all the more difficult in a few days time as the problems worsen. This was likely met with groans from governors and mayors around the country who are desperately trying to manage this aspect of the crisis with only spotty success.
He desperately wants to go back to the status quo before this all broke. Unfortunately, heâs not making the situation better, heâs working at odds with those who are helping, thus making matters worse.

FYI
Since you silly people insist on bashing Pelosi w/out doing any research, allow me to try to enlighten you!
From Pelosi's social media team, via Helen Stickler:
Nancy Pelosi is calling the Senate bill the "McConnell Corporate Slush Fund" and here is what she says is wrong with it:
âą McConnellâs bill includes a $500,000,000,000.00 corporate slush fund for CEOs and the ultra rich â while leaving workers, families and children out to dry.
âą McConnellâs bill has weak stock buyback language that can be waived by the Treasury Secretary; executive compensation limits only last for two years; language on worker retention is weak and includes easy outs for companies; there are no assurances in the language that workers will benefit.
âą The bill provides little transparency of the lending done by Treasury (amount and to whom?).
âą There are no specific provisions to protect from individuals from eviction, foreclosure or forbearance. Other Major Problems:
âą No money for state and local governments.
âą No additional SNAP funds.
âą No OSHA language to protect workers.
âą No expanded emergency leave provisions.
âą Only 3 months on Unemployment Insurance â this is an insufficient length given the scope of the crisis.
âą Direct Payments are not available to the millions of people who did not file a return in 2018 or 2019.
âą No money to help with the treatment of the uninsured.
âą The bill does not provide adequate relief for the 44 million federal student loan borrowers
Also, another tidbit about the 500 billion slush fund:
"Not only does Munchin want the 500 billion dollar slush fund that he would have complete control overâŠhe would also get the ability to hide who he gives the money to for six months."
He won't have to tell anyone he gave Mar-a-Lago money!!!!
SUPPORT, MISS NANCY!

R244 poor people & people living on fixed incomes, especially the elderly, many times are far more gullible in believing what they hear from politicians who tell them what they want to hear. The republican party has realized this for generations and has taken advantage of it in a big way. The democrats have done a poor job all this time in convincing those people that they've been played for fools by the GOP. Plus, you have to consider that many elderly people suffer from a certain level of natural dementia that comes with age. It is more severe with many of them. I am 66 years old and I have old friends, a husband and wife who are 76 & 69 respectively. Up until a few years ago they were very liberal democrats. I talked with the wife a couple days ago and we were talking about the Coronavirus and she started saying how Donald Trump was doing everything in his power to do the best for the country. She had a stroke a few years back and I have seen steady diminishing of her mental faculties, as well as those of her husband. But I knew when she said that she had become one of those old people who believe whatever sounds the best to them. I tried to convince her that Trump is an incompetent fool and a proven liar and she just sat there silent, and I knew there was no use in even trying. She's too far gone, and her husband is in the same boat.

R250 He's pissed because the Repug Bill that would have bailed out him and his league of ultra-rich supporter failed to pass. Now, he's freaking and willing to kill between 2.5 to 5% of the American population so he doesn't lose more money in a total crash. Problem is, his supporters are dumb enough to believe that it's the right thing (285K people have liked his tweet). They think this is an old person illness. Sadly, 40% of those being hospitalized are people between 18 and 40,so, this isn't just older people getting critically ill. If social distancing ends, hospitals will been completely overwhelmed and peole will die at a much faster rate. Added to that, most countries will effectively quarantine America off killing international trade. Also, unchecked most of the workforce will be ill or dying.

Poll: Half of Americans approve of Trumpâs coronavirus response--The presidentâs net positive rating is starkly partisan.
By QUINT FORGEY
03/23/2020 02:00 PM EDT
Half of Americans give President Donald Trump positive marks for his management of the coronavirus outbreak, according to a new survey, and his approval rating has seen a marginal improvement over the past month as the pandemic has worsened.
A Monmouth University poll released Monday reports that 50 percent of respondents believe Trump has done a âgood jobâ dealing with the outbreak, while 45 percent say he has done a âbad job.â Three percent of those surveyed said they had a mixed review of Trumpâs performance, and 1 percent did not have an opinion.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick: 'I'm all in' on risking my health to lift social distancing guidelines for economic boost
Washington (CNN)Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Monday night that he's "not living in fear" of the novel coronavirus pandemic and is "all in" on lifting social distancing guidelines recommended by public health experts in order to help the economy.
Patrick, who said he turns 70 next week, would be among the high-risk population that is most affected by the coronavirus. But he said people like him have to weigh the hazards to their personal health that the virus poses with the challenges to health of the American economy brought on by social distancing guidelines.
"No one reached out to me and said, 'As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?' And if that is the exchange, I'm all in," Patrick told Fox News.
He added, "My messages is that let's get back to work, let's get back to living. Let's be smart about it and those of us who are 70+, we'll take care of ourselves. But don't sacrifice the country."
The suggestion directly contradicts recommendations put forth by government agencies and public health experts. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been urging "social distancing" -- defined as "remaining out of places where people meet or gather" and "avoiding local public transportation" -- even if you don't have any symptoms of the virus as a way to slow the spread of the disease. The CDC has recommended that no gatherings of 50 or more people take place for eight weeks and adults 65 and over stay home, if possible.
The CDC reports that 8 in 10 coronavirus deaths reported in the US are among adults 65 years old and older.
State health officials on Monday reported more than 100 coronavirus-related deaths in a single day for the first time since the outbreak, according to a tally from CNN Health, surpassing 500 total deaths nationwide.
Still, Patrick's comments echo a growing desire among some Republicans -- including President Donald Trump -- to ease guidelines that have shuttered businesses and kept workers at home.
"Our country wasn't built to be shut down. This is not a country that was built for this. It was not built to be shut down," the President said during a Monday evening briefing at the White House, even as he acknowledged the effects of coronavirus are likely to worsen.
Reacting to Trump's comments, Patrick said he talks to business people "all the time" and that his "heart is lifted tonight by what I heard the President say because we can do more than one thing at a time."

r1, that is exactly what Dump said during that visit to the CDC, an agency whose budget his admin cut. What he should have said during that visit? " we are asking citizens who have traveled to places where there is an outbreak of covid to self quarantine for two weeks and submit to testing." " we have tests available here". He also said this pandemic is fake news. The backstory of all this is his admin rejected the who's tests and tried to create their own test to monetize this situation from top to bottom. Several senators made huge stock transactions after these initial meetings, not all repugs.

"Dr. Deborah Birx from the White House coronavirus task force issues the advice and says about 56% of all US cases are coming out of that metro area"--Anyone who was in New York should self-quarantine
AND, WHY DO THE MEDIA FALL INTO THIS TRAP???
"Trump says a "big part" of Dow surge today was due to his work on getting country "open as soon possible"
President Trump said that a âbig partâ of the stock market and the Dowâs surge today was due to his work to get the country âopen as soon possibleâ as well as the potential deal reached on the Hill.
âThis is very encouraging and I think part of the reason is looking what is close to being passed and I think a very big part of it is they see that we want to get our country open as soon as possible. They see weâre working very hard on that. Thatâs a very big factor I think in todayâs historic gain,â Trump told reporters in the briefing room on Tuesday. US stocks ended in the green on Tuesday, recouping all of Mondayâs losses as investors grew optimistic about the governmentâs response to the coronavirus crisis.

President Trump is as popular as he's ever been right now
Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
Updated 12:18 PM ET, Wed March 25, 2020
(CNN)Here's an indisputable fact: President Donald Trump is as popular today as he has been since his first day in office.
In a new Gallup poll, 49% approve of the job Trump is doing as president while 45% disapprove, matching the highest his approval rating has ever been in Gallup surveys. A Monmouth University poll released on Monday showed Trump at 46% approval, again the best he has done in that poll in more than three years.
What accounts for Trump's rise? Simple: His response to the coronavirus crisis.
In the Gallup poll, 60% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing in handling the crisis while 38% disapprove of how he has done. Six in 10 independents approve of how Trump has done on the coronavirus as do more than 1 in 4 (27%) of Democrats. In the Monmouth poll, 50% say Trump has done a good job with coronavirus while 45% said he has done a bad job.
The heightened approval for how Trump has managed this crisis -- particularly among independents and even Democrats -- is what is pushing up his overall approval numbers, which have been largely stagnant for years.
On one level, this isn't terribly surprising. Polling consistently shows a rallying effect around the president when major crises face the country. In the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, for example, President George W. Bush's approval rating soared into the high 80s and low 90s. There's a tendency for even partisans of the opposite party from the president to soften a bit in their perception of him as we are reminded of our common humanity and the need for our leaders to, well, lead us out of crisis.
On another, however, Trump's high approval ratings for how he has dealt with coronavirus and how he is handling the job more broadly might well shock people who have been keeping close track of his and his administration's performance on the pandemic.
After all, it's quite clear that the administration simply didn't take the threat of coronavirus seriously enough soon enough. And the testing capabilities for coronavirus in the US were decidedly slow. And Trump's public statements have been marked by inaccurate claims (the test is "perfect", the vaccine is coming fast, etc).
But what the Gallup and Monmouth numbers seem to suggest is that either a) people aren't following every single statement made by Trump on this matter or b) they don't hold him personally responsible for the hiccups along the way.
The average person seems to broadly believe that Trump is doing the best that he can in a very difficult circumstance. And that what he says on a daily basis matters less than the fact he is out there saying it, and assuring the country that this will all be over soon. (Nota bene: There's very little medical evidence to suggest Trump's optimism is rooted in established facts.)
It's important to keep this perspective in mind when analyzing the political impact this massive campaign of social distancing has as the medical world battles the virus. A large number of Americans are looking at Trump's behavior not from the 50-foot or even 500-foot level but the 50,000-foot level.
And at least so far, they like what they are seeing.

R460 Exactly the pattern.. when there is any crisis of large magnitude, the American public rally around the leader, whoever it is. Hence the "wag the dog" trick leading up to an election. A military threat? We support the president... A natural disaster? We support the president...
.... until we don't. See Bush and Katrina. Support will evaporate quickly after the crisis has passed. A matter of timing though... if covid-19 is still prevalent in fall, and Trump is grandstanding about it, it would definitely help his election chanced.

I've told Andrew that because he recognized my great help to him and his state, I love New York, isn't that how it goes? I'm ordering 234,765.82 masks be sent to New York. Maybe I'll be invited to Albany for Easter Dinner, we'll see what happens, right?"
" Because America will be back, better and more profitable than ever by Easter. I'm told Melania and her son are looking forward to the White House Easter Egg Hunt. I don't know; he looks pretty tall to me!"

I think journalists find themselves in a quandary. The position of President, regardless of who is occupying the Oval Office, demands respect and courtesy. While it's true the current occupant has done so much damage to the office itself that it is hard for us to see beyond that, in time he will be gone, and a new occupant will be in its place; a new occupant who will carry with them the professionalism and empathy and intelligence and courage and all the other aspects of what a true President should be like. And thus, journalists will continue to be deferential and respectful. It's not about the occupant but about the office.

Trumpworld unloads on GOP ally as coronavirus attacks mount
"Where the hell is the presidentâs air cover?" said one ally upset over the silence of a super PAC aligned with Trump.
By ALEX ISENSTADT
03/26/2020 04:30 AM EDT
Donald Trump is getting hammered by millions of dollars in Democratic campaign ads depicting his response to the coronavirus as negligent and inept.
But the main super PAC backing his reelection has been silent in response â and Trumpâs political advisers are not happy about it.
In interviews, more than a half-dozen White House aides, campaign officials and other Trump allies said they felt deserted by the group, America First Action, openly questioning why itâs leaving Trump exposed on the airwaves at the most vulnerable moment of his presidency.
âThere is a major vacuum on the political front right now, with the White House focused on coronavirus response and the campaign, rightly so, echoing the White House,â said Chris LaCivita, who as chief strategist of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth orchestrated the 2004 John Kerry takedown.
âWith attacks coming from all over, the simple question is: Where the hell is the presidentâs air cover?â
The campaign is legally barred from communicating directly with the super PAC. Trumpâs reelection effort itself is not currently attacking Biden on the airwaves during the pandemic because it wants to focus on echoing the president's message.
Liberal groups are collectively spending millions of dollars in swing states portraying Trump as an erratic leader at a time of national crisis who failed to recognize the threat the pandemic posed. Joe Bidenâs campaign has launched a brutal spot savaging the president for repeatedly downplaying the coronavirus and then complaining that he could have done more had he known about it earlier. And a super PAC aligned with the former vice president is airing a commercial declaring that Trump has âfailedâ in his response.
Yet America First Action, the principal pro-Trump super PAC that has received the blessing of the White House, has been quiet. While the administration and reelection campaign focus on developing a daily message surrounding the crisis, senior Trump aides contend the super PAC should be leading the charge against Biden.
The angst underscores a central dilemma confronting Trump and his political advisers: How to wage a reelection campaign and respond to attacks while Americans are dying and daily life is grinding to a halt. The presidentâs sprawling political apparatus once envisioned launching a massive advertising blitz defining the presumptive nominee, but the idea was scuttled once the coronavirus took hold.
Kelly Sadler, an America First spokeswoman, declined to comment on the groupâs plans. She said the pro-Biden groups, including Priorities USA, were squandering funds on misleading commercials while the president notched generally favorable approval ratings for his handling of the crisis.
âWe are more than happy the clown car at Priorities USA continues to waste liberal donor money as theyâve done year after year. Rest assured, we have plenty of time to put Sleepy Joe to bed,â Sadler said, using Trumpâs nickname for the former vice president.

^The Administration and Advisors are doing anything to make Trump appear as if he is in charge and look presidential because of this mess he created. Canada and Mexico became much stricter with their border days ago. It's mot such a good headline letting it be known that those two countries don't want any US Americans in their countries.

R595 Lol it was Inslee. You remember, the guy Trump called a âsnake:
[quote]On a private call Thurs, governors from both parties pressed Trump for help. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee urged Trump to use his full authority to ramp up production of medical equipment. Be like Tom Brady, he told Trump, less like a âbackup quarterback."
He hates that Inslee.
