Pallas's cat

Look at it, it looks just like your typical Datalounger.

But much cuter! The scowl is appropriate, though.

I can hear him thinking "When are you going to leave?" right now.

You can just imagine the withering look you'd receive if you called it 'kitty'.

There's a video I'm hoping another Datalounger will be able to identify. A naturalist or zoologist had set up cameras in a remote mountain setting in Asia. He was trying to capture footage of a large cat, a Siberian tiger, IIRC. And instead of that, he obtained footage of an even rarer creature: a Pallas cat. On the audio he just sounds awestruck at his luck. And I thought he was saying "palace" cat, so it took me a while to find more information about it. It's a cool video, so I'm hoping someone else remembers enough about it to be able to link it here.

Are our spoiled modern Persian house cats descended from Pallas's cats?

Because Pallas's cats are the fluffiest wild species, maybe they bred with house cats at some point.

R11 Modern Persian cats are rumored to possibly be from somewhere in Europe. All breeds of domestic cats are believed to be descended from the African Wildcat(picture below).
