She got some big roles in the late '70s - Days of Heaven, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Cuba and then in the '80s she did The Dead Zone but her career never really took off.
She's been married to Tony Shalhoub for years.
What happened?
She hit the financial jackpot with Shalhoub.so she doesn’t have to work.
Also, she didn’t age that well.

She was so striking—those eyes!—and iconic in one of the most beautiful movies of all time, Days of Heaven.
But she wasn't a particularly versatile or forceful presence, so when she aged into the roles Sally Field was still getting, she didn't work.

She was in that weird group of actresses that looked and sounded so much alike. Karen Allen, Brooke Adams, Margot Kidder, Debra Winger, Pamela Sue Martin, Karen Lynn Gorney.
