13 year marriage to Barbara Stanwyck. They were both bi if not completely gay. They were a cute couple and surely enjoyed each other?

He was a hardcore conservative who named names to HUAC. May he rot in hell,

R10 is correct- and as the nostalgia craze exploded in the 1960's-1970's that testimony absolutely ruined interest in him.

Butch Patrick's haircut in The Munsters was a way of making fun of him.

Still, he made a few very, very good films in the 1950's, including the bleak but honest Devil's Doorway, which was a barely released flop. Anthony Mann directed this rare pro-Indian MGM western.

He was ALL MAN and I'm just the Dyke to Prove it .

As I recall, he was pretty ugly to Stanwyck’s adopted son because he wasn’t manly enough which may have contributed to the disintegration of Missy’s relationship with the son.

So pretty....so boring.
