I thought they closed at 7:00 Eastern

R1, I know and I can't see the results either. Hopefully another kind DL poster will rise to the challenge.

R2, Reports that some polls closed early.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 29, 2020 10:49 PM |
r4 Why would some close early?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 29, 2020 10:51 PM |
I don't have a NY Times paywall.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 29, 2020 10:52 PM |
Polls don't close early. Why make stuff up? They close at 7:00 Eastern.

It's an open primary and Repugs have been telling their voters to vote for Sanders.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 29, 2020 10:55 PM |
R9 That is one of the reason that I'm opposed to open primaries, which we changed to in Colorado this year. Since SC isn't holding a Repug primary this year (to coronate PPG) the deplorables are free to vote in the Dem Primary. Secondly, if you want a say in who the Democratic Nominee is? Join the fucking party. I don't go down to the Knights of Columbus, or the National Organization for Women and tell them who their leader should be.
That change (at least here in Colorado) was pushed through by Berners.

Although this brings an idea to mind--why don't Bloomberg and Steyer fund a membership drive for the NRA? It supposedly has fewer than 4 million members, and if we all joined Bloomberg and Steyer could fight over who would be president of that and get them out of the donation and lobbying business.

It’s the Berniebros who got rules loosened in the democratic primaries. Waaah, we’re independents! But we want to vote for Bernie! You have to let independents vote in the democratic primary or you’re not transparent! Waah, I want to register to vote on the day of the primary! This means I can also change my party on the day of the primary! You have to do it or you are OPPRESSING me! You have to make voting more accessible to us young people to vote for whoever we want in any primary at any time! You have to loosen all the rules.

South Carolina should be stripped of their first in the South status. Democrats haven't won South Carolina since 1976. Force them to move to Super Tuesday.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 29, 2020 11:48 PM |
Fuck off r14
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 29, 2020 11:50 PM |
You fuck off, R15. Why should a state that we never win have an outsized influence on our nominee? Present a cogent argument and I'll listen.

That guy running to defeat Miz Linz in the fall -- does he have any primary challengers today?

Will ONE pundit admit that "momentum" was a big chimera and not predictive of SC voters' choices?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 1, 2020 12:21 AM |
Can we just have Ohio, or Michigan, or a Pennsylvania be the first Primary? And then we can immediately know who the front runner is and end all this nonsense?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 1, 2020 12:25 AM |
Today was for president only, any Senate primary would be held in a few weeks, R17.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 1, 2020 12:27 AM |
R15/20 Nice. Wish for me to die instead of engaging in an actual conversation with someone that doesn't agree with you. You must be a Bernie Bro.
Don't give yourself alcohol poisoning, dear.
