How long before Amy calls Mayor Pete a f*g?

She fucking hates him!

by Anonymousreply 305February 24, 2020 1:32 AM

I don't like Amy.

by Anonymousreply 1February 20, 2020 3:30 AM

Amy is not going to do that. Relax, OP.

by Anonymousreply 2February 20, 2020 3:32 AM

He needs to offer her a comb.

by Anonymousreply 3February 20, 2020 3:40 AM

No. She’s going to go full Faye and call him little homosexual boy.

by Anonymousreply 4February 20, 2020 3:41 AM

"That little gay boy over there needs to know his place!"

by Anonymousreply 5February 20, 2020 3:42 AM

I couldn't stop staring at Amy's nasty looking teeth

by Anonymousreply 6February 20, 2020 3:43 AM

I now believe everything Amy’s staff have said about her anger.

by Anonymousreply 7February 20, 2020 3:45 AM

Amy doesn't dislike Pete. But you want to push her buttons or the button of any woman working a job, just diminish their work. That's what Pete did. Not a good look. You might not like her personality, you might not like her approach, but don't begrudge her what she has done because that is no exaggeration. Elizabeth Warren and Amy K have been through enough shit that someone like Pete ought to empathize with them, not take shots. You may say, "Well she started it." No. Pete as much as I love him, c an get smug. Amy checked him on that.

by Anonymousreply 8February 20, 2020 3:59 AM

I truly believe that Amy believes Pete is so young and beneath her that he should be one of her interns -- and how dare he have the gall to not only be on that stage with her, but be beating her.

by Anonymousreply 9February 20, 2020 4:01 AM

All I can say is that Pete is damn lucky there was no stapler on that podium

by Anonymousreply 10February 20, 2020 4:02 AM

Amy is a shaking arrogant coward.

by Anonymousreply 11February 20, 2020 4:03 AM

He checked her on her crack about him showing up showing up with rehearsed lines - that's exactly what she did.

by Anonymousreply 12February 20, 2020 4:04 AM

She took his quote out of context in the last debate and he owned her tonight. It's what the bitch gets!

by Anonymousreply 13February 20, 2020 4:05 AM

[Quote]Amy doesn't dislike Pete.

Yes she does. Which is her right, I don't begrudge her for it.

by Anonymousreply 14February 20, 2020 4:08 AM

Amy is a bore who has absolutely no chance of getting anywhere near the nomination

by Anonymousreply 15February 20, 2020 4:18 AM

ELdergays: Tell us about the Alamo

But seriously, AMLO has been involved in Mexican politics for many years, as the voice fo the leftist opposition.

by Anonymousreply 16February 20, 2020 4:19 AM

And what do we think of Gotham Steel pans?

Worth $20 for two?

by Anonymousreply 17February 20, 2020 4:19 AM

Amy’s been a senator forever but Pete knows a lot more about government and politics than she does.

by Anonymousreply 18February 20, 2020 4:21 AM

I would use resent as the closest word to describe Amy's attitude toward Pete; he's a pipsqueak doing better than she is.

by Anonymousreply 19February 20, 2020 4:21 AM

If Amy drops out that black guy who might very well be innocent is FUCKED.

If she says in the race, she might get him out to get the black vote.

by Anonymousreply 20February 20, 2020 4:22 AM

R15 - you are correct about Amy. Pete also has zero chance. My favorite (Kamala) also had no chance as it turned out. Yes, let's just rally behind whoever the Dem nomination ends up becoming and fight the real enemy for once.

by Anonymousreply 21February 20, 2020 4:23 AM

Hopefully soon so she’ll finally have to drop out after the outrage.

by Anonymousreply 22February 20, 2020 4:24 AM

Sorry, I’m not rallying behind Bernie nor Bloomberg.

by Anonymousreply 23February 20, 2020 4:25 AM

R23 Thanks, Boris. Now, Russia needs attention since it is a shithole country and always has been. WEAK people.

by Anonymousreply 24February 20, 2020 4:26 AM

Not one complaint about that convicted killer's sentence for 20 years until she ran for the presidency. That said, she's a cunt. An abusive cunt.

by Anonymousreply 25February 20, 2020 4:27 AM

I hate her voice. She embodies fraudom. When I look at her, all I see is salad, comb.

by Anonymousreply 26February 20, 2020 4:32 AM

Amy showed her fucking ass tonight - she can’t take a few hits from the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana without flying off the handle and collapsing into a fetal position? She wants to take on Trump? Are you kidding me?

Pete’s facial reaction to her pathetic crybaby “I wish everybody was as perfect as you, Pete” was hilarious: “Really, bitch?”

by Anonymousreply 27February 20, 2020 4:38 AM

WWTD (What Would Trump Do) with “I wish everybody was as perfect as you, Donald”

Probably "It's a shame they can't be"

by Anonymousreply 28February 20, 2020 4:46 AM

I'm surprised she didn't shower the audience with tater tot casserole recipes printed on index cards.

by Anonymousreply 29February 20, 2020 4:50 AM

r25

I doubt that's true. Also, these cases are popping up all over the country. It's a largely racist problem that people have failed to address.

by Anonymousreply 30February 20, 2020 4:51 AM

She tried to "mother" Pete - in other words he's not a "real man" because he's gay. He's not really "married" to another man, because he's not a woman. Pete is a grown man and served in the military even when it wasn't allowed to technically, oh and also got married in a decade where that still wasn't legal. He's young. sharp and smart and she's getting older and less relevant. Looking at you too Warren.

by Anonymousreply 31February 20, 2020 4:58 AM

[quote] Pete is a grown man and served in the military even when it wasn't allowed to technically, oh and also got married in a decade where that still wasn't legal.

Is this a joke? He's been in the closet almost all his life. And how did he get married when it wasn't legal?

by Anonymousreply 32February 20, 2020 5:15 AM

R24 I’m a Democrat, not a Socialist. Fuck off!

by Anonymousreply 33February 20, 2020 5:25 AM

R32 Try being gay in Mike Pence’s Indiana. It’s not the safe haven of WeHo.

by Anonymousreply 34February 20, 2020 5:27 AM

lol. Mike Pence's Indiana? He doesn't live in Baghdad, you jerk. Indiana is part of the U.S.

by Anonymousreply 35February 20, 2020 5:34 AM

*POW!!!!*

The sound of a stapler connecting with R1's head.

by Anonymousreply 36February 20, 2020 5:34 AM

R35 And deeply conservative.

by Anonymousreply 37February 20, 2020 5:36 AM

[quote] [R32] Try being gay in Mike Pence’s Indiana. It’s not the safe haven of WeHo.

Being President should require more than average bravery. There were openly gay people in IN before Pete was born. It may not have been easy but they did it. I am completely OK with people who are closeted to protect themselves from any form of discrimination or physical harm, even today. But I ask more of someone seeking my vote for President.

by Anonymousreply 38February 20, 2020 5:43 AM

R38 is an Amy For America campaign intern typing with trembling fingers. Amy just arrived back at her Las Vegas campaign headquarters and she's fucking pissed. Man your stations, everyone.

by Anonymousreply 39February 20, 2020 5:55 AM

I am against coming out. It’s like pandering for sympathy. Just live your fucking life and shut up

by Anonymousreply 40February 20, 2020 6:06 AM

People are saying pete was mean, that's is sexist bullshit. Sorry but if Amy can dish it she needs to be able to take it and stop using her gender as a defense for her shitty record.

by Anonymousreply 41February 20, 2020 6:26 AM

When anyone says “a woman can’t be president” they’re talking about Amy. She’s emotional, angry, and really holds a grudge.

by Anonymousreply 42February 20, 2020 6:28 AM

She has been asking for this for a couple of debates now. However, since they'll both likely be at the next debate, it would be strongly advised for the two of them to pointedly avoid acknowledging each other's existence that night. Let. It. Go!

by Anonymousreply 43February 20, 2020 6:32 AM

I'm surprised that Amy didn't shout at Pete, "If you don't shut the fuck up, I'm gonna throw this goddamned stapler at your head!"

She looked PISSED!

by Anonymousreply 44February 20, 2020 6:46 AM

The bitch kept him from beating Bernie in his own backyard, she deserves to have her campaign ended by him.

by Anonymousreply 45February 20, 2020 6:47 AM

How did she make it this far?

by Anonymousreply 46February 20, 2020 6:49 AM

She exceeded the expectations set by the media for Iowa, which gave her some momentum going into New Hampshire, where she managed to share some of the Biden and Warren bleeding with Pete. She managed to do that well in New Hampshire in spite of having very little established ground game there, but in Nevada she has even less ground game.

by Anonymousreply 47February 20, 2020 6:53 AM

She was shaking like an rabid bitch when Pete put her on the spot. I say she's the Dawn Steele of the candidates. She hold back until she can't anymore and then she goes full hyena.

by Anonymousreply 48February 20, 2020 6:55 AM

Weird how a woman who was polling 1/2 or less of Kamala Harris's run has made it this long and actually reached debate stages. I like her because she is a Democrat Senator, but it ends about there. God, I do miss Kamala. Fortunately, she leads the polls as most popular VP choice.

by Anonymousreply 49February 20, 2020 7:05 AM

Amy should drop out and learn the President of Mexico’s name.

by Anonymousreply 50February 20, 2020 7:07 AM

She came in 5th in Iowa, exactly where people thought she would. If she had come in 3rd then i'd say she overperformed but no.

by Anonymousreply 51February 20, 2020 7:09 AM

Why is it so hard for her to learn the Mexican presidents name, seriously she's a smart woman, what is the problem. Even tonight she had to look at her notes, i mean cmon.

by Anonymousreply 52February 20, 2020 7:11 AM

The Kamala lovers here are sad. None of these fools will beat Trump. Buckle up, bitches.

by Anonymousreply 53February 20, 2020 7:13 AM

"Why is it so hard for her to learn the Mexican presidents name, seriously she's a smart woman, what is the problem. "

She's from the Midwest. Over there they don't care about anything that happens 50 miles from home. Learn a Spanish name? What fer?

by Anonymousreply 54February 20, 2020 7:19 AM

R53, this is the wrong website for you - used douche water. Kamala can and will mop the floor with plump Trump's ratty wig. Unlike your fuhrer, she actually has "bigly" brains. (holding my nose and using an ignorant misspelled word that your dictator loves to burp out) Watch my words..

by Anonymousreply 55February 20, 2020 7:19 AM

I believe she's on the homeland security Committee in the Senate, you know with jurisdiction over the Mexican border?

by Anonymousreply 56February 20, 2020 7:20 AM

Harris is a political loser outside California, except for a niche market of white liberals.

by Anonymousreply 57February 20, 2020 7:21 AM

Kamala was a terrible candidate.

by Anonymousreply 58February 20, 2020 7:22 AM

Kamala Harris remains a very public and very powerful Senator; for those who know what that is and means - she is one of only two from the largest, most important state in the union. She is doing just fine.

by Anonymousreply 59February 20, 2020 7:37 AM

She'll make a great senator, just like Elizabeth Warren. Not for president, these two.

by Anonymousreply 60February 20, 2020 8:05 AM

R32 you're a joke.

by Anonymousreply 61February 20, 2020 8:56 AM

She also flubbed the President’s name when she did say it on stage. She said “Loprez.”

by Anonymousreply 62February 20, 2020 9:27 AM

Drop out Amy. Enough already.

by Anonymousreply 63February 20, 2020 9:58 AM

Uhh, you mean out loud and in public, right?

by Anonymousreply 64February 20, 2020 10:51 AM

The MISS KAMALA HARRIS IS MY DIVA troll is back.

And they haven't given up!

by Anonymousreply 65February 20, 2020 12:26 PM

Ah.

by Anonymousreply 66February 20, 2020 12:31 PM

Amy’s skin is so thin that I could see her black heart.

by Anonymousreply 67February 20, 2020 12:46 PM

I don't get why people don't just call it what it is: racism. Racism that she cannot even have the decency to respect our neighbors and remember their president when she's a fucking Senator with so much oversight. That shit is so disrespectful. It is disrespectful and racist that I'm sure she could easily name Justin Trudeau of Canada, our other bordering neighbor country. Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Mexico deserves so much more respect than this.

by Anonymousreply 68February 20, 2020 12:52 PM

Disagree entirely, R8. Amy had the combination of self belief and ego to decide it was her time to run for the presidency.

And for the longest time she couldn't catch on and only recently she's managed to barely.

And here's this upstart kid mayor of nowhere who everybody laughed at and he's doing decently and threatens to do even better. Worse, he's taking support she thinks could/should be hers. Worse, part of his strategy to diminish her candidacy is to chip away at her strenght: tenure.

She's entitled, she's frustrated and she's stuck. This is eating her liver out and she doesn't have the skills or the offer to get through it.

by Anonymousreply 69February 20, 2020 12:54 PM

[quote] The bitch kept him from beating Bernie in his own backyard, she deserves to have her campaign ended by him.

What are you talking about?

by Anonymousreply 70February 20, 2020 1:02 PM

[quote]If Amy drops out that black guy who might very well be innocent is FUCKED. If she says in the race, she might get him out to get the black vote.

She has no power to do that. A jury convicted him, and only a judge could vacate a conviction.

by Anonymousreply 71February 20, 2020 1:05 PM

Amy internalizes every ounce of criticism and you can’t blame it on being female. Warren just shrugs off any attacks and keeps punching; Amy just looks wounded and rattled.

She could hardly look at Pete through her rage and it made him look like the alpha.

by Anonymousreply 72February 20, 2020 1:06 PM

She bugged me when she tagged him for his “flowery speech”, he is the best spoken candidate by far and uses the language beautifully. I don’t like her- neither to the people who work with and for her. Pete and Warren are my picks but I will support a warm body against Trump.

by Anonymousreply 73February 20, 2020 1:09 PM

I like that she’s constantly pissed off and angry. That’s what we need to get things done in Washington. Flowery speech and no results are not gonna cut it.

by Anonymousreply 74February 20, 2020 1:11 PM

Amy has the type of anger that is always self-defeating; it’s not constructive anger. She’s angry for her own self, not for us. She’s a wounded animal.

I’m not a Liz fan, but I have no doubt she’s mad about Trump and the system, not that her ego is wounded.

by Anonymousreply 75February 20, 2020 1:21 PM

I hated when she said "are you mocking me, Pete" and "are you making fun of me?" He was not mocking her, rather, he was making a legitimate point. She really was coming unraveled and it was probably the single moment that ended her chance at the nomination. I've been that mad where you shake, your voice trembles and you can barely get words out. I can count those moments on one hand. It's the worst feeling in the world and quite embarrassing after the fact. It takes a lot to get me to that point, however. I was shocked she was having one of those moments on the debate stage in front of the world. She needs to drop out (being happy she made it this far) and schedule some intensive therapy sessions.

by Anonymousreply 76February 20, 2020 1:47 PM

I think people find her relatable that she gets angry and seems real, not fake and scripted all the time.

by Anonymousreply 77February 20, 2020 2:04 PM

Buttigieg came off looking far worse than Klobuchar did. He was visibly trying to intimidate her by cutting her off. Instead of an exchange of ideas, or even a competition of ideas, he crossed over into intimidation and it looked awful for him. His Ivy League smugness was fully on display in those moments.

by Anonymousreply 78February 20, 2020 2:09 PM

I disagree some R78. He raised and made some good points with her. She slammed him for his inexperience and his spewing of scripted talking points so he had every right to jab her back. She's been going after him the past several debates, reaping the benefits of that behavior and then being regarded as a tough debater (at HIS expense). He (and she) looked bad last night, however, when they continued to go after each other throughout the debate. They both looked awful at the end when Chuck Todd had to tell them to shut up.

by Anonymousreply 79February 20, 2020 2:18 PM

You are not wrong in any of that, R79. But when a man does it to a woman, he looks like a bully. In last night's placement of the candidates, Buttigieg was right next to Klobuchar which compounded the problem. He was towering over her and appeared to even be physically intimidating her from time to time. He misjudged all of that.

by Anonymousreply 80February 20, 2020 2:22 PM

I think Pete should basically ignore her the next debate. Focus on running with the big dogs and not sniping with the bottom tier. Obama elevated himself that way.

by Anonymousreply 81February 20, 2020 2:25 PM

Multiple Klobuchar staffers were hospitalized after last night’s debate. Police reported that an unknown suspect assaulted them with a stapler..

by Anonymousreply 82February 20, 2020 2:26 PM

Pete was right to question her voting record. Don't wanna be called out? Don't do stupid shit.

by Anonymousreply 83February 20, 2020 2:27 PM

Women are supposed to be treated like the fragile flowers they are, then?

by Anonymousreply 84February 20, 2020 2:28 PM

No one should subjected to the Ivy League sneer. Buttigieg was pouring it with that Ivy League sneer last night. We got it, Pete. You're the best and the brightest. And you speak Spanish, too!

by Anonymousreply 85February 20, 2020 2:31 PM

One thing I find frustrating, and I think you're starting to see it emerge with Warren and certainly with Klobuchar last night, is they play the women and sexism card when it suits. It's a tactic, a hardball one, but the cynicism I don't think helps the big picture of sexism. Politics is rough and people tangle but Amy was dog whistling with the choice of words she used last night 'are you calling me dumb?' 'are you mocking me.' She was plainly playing the sexism card when he plainly wasn't being sexist.

by Anonymousreply 86February 20, 2020 2:31 PM

[quote]No one should subjected to the Ivy League sneer. Buttigieg was pouring it with that Ivy League sneer last night. We got it, Pete. You're the best and the brightest. And you speak Spanish, too!

This is politics, not a garden party.

by Anonymousreply 87February 20, 2020 2:32 PM

As much as I am tired of the political cipher Amy Klobuchar, enough with the stapler jokes already.

They were funny for the first 973 years of this primary season.

by Anonymousreply 88February 20, 2020 2:35 PM

[quote]I don't see how I'm going to make it through the summah.

Neither does Amy.

by Anonymousreply 89February 20, 2020 2:36 PM

[quote] Women are supposed to be treated like the fragile flowers they are, then?

Pete is the one who is for affirmative action for women, so apparently he thinks so.

by Anonymousreply 90February 20, 2020 2:37 PM

He should have answer "Yes and Yes" to her two question whether she is dumb and whether he is mocking her. I want to see her cry or collapse in rage.

by Anonymousreply 91February 20, 2020 2:38 PM

Amy melted down last night from being an Ambrosia Salad to liquid sherbet.

by Anonymousreply 92February 20, 2020 2:38 PM

It's OK, R88... after last night she's going semi-automatic anyway.

And Pete plays the gay card when it suits him. So what?

by Anonymousreply 94February 20, 2020 2:40 PM

[quote]Buttigieg was right next to Klobuchar which compounded the problem. He was towering over her and appeared to even be physically intimidating her from time to time. He misjudged all of that.

I agree with this. He looked really reminiscent of Trump stalking Hillary on the debate stage.

Buttigieg did look physically intimidating and he’s the one who came across as a bully. It’s not a good look for a man debating a woman and he needs to tone it down.

by Anonymousreply 95February 20, 2020 2:41 PM

Not even the same thing, R94. Pete doesn't play the gay card for a tactical advantage. Nor does he play it cynically to the detriment of gays.

by Anonymousreply 96February 20, 2020 2:42 PM

[quote]Politics is rough and people tangle but Amy was dog whistling with the choice of words she used last night 'are you calling me dumb?' 'are you mocking me.'

I’m getting tired of the conspiracy theories that everything she says is some sort of “dog whistle”. It’s pretty clear that she doesn’t like him, she’s not subtle about it.

by Anonymousreply 97February 20, 2020 2:44 PM

[quote] It’s not a good look for a man debating a woman and he needs to tone it down.

That is so sexist.

Either they're candidates in their own right, toughing it out, or they're poor little women in politics, seeking to be President of the United States.

Now which is it going to be? Fight the fight or wait for the crossing guard? Hillary Clinton didn't need her hand held.

by Anonymousreply 98February 20, 2020 2:44 PM

I'm sorry you're tired R97 but that's exactly what she did in this instance. And yes, she hates him with the heat of a thousand suns. He's doing what she can't: getting somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 99February 20, 2020 2:45 PM

[quote]His Ivy League smugness was fully on display in those moments.

[quote]No one should subjected to the Ivy League sneer. Buttigieg was pouring it with that Ivy League sneer last night.

Klobuchar is a Yale graduate, so I’m not sure why Harvard-Pete acts like he’s so superior.

by Anonymousreply 100February 20, 2020 2:50 PM

[quote] That is so sexist. Either they're candidates in their own right, toughing it out, or they're poor little women in politics, seeking to be President of the United States.

If Pete is for equality, why is he supporting affirmative action for women?

by Anonymousreply 101February 20, 2020 2:50 PM

Klobuchar can't even run her own senate office. How the hell could she be expected to run the country? She's demonstrated repeatedly she's a poor manager who manages on whim and emotion, not on experience or ability.

by Anonymousreply 102February 20, 2020 2:53 PM

Apples and oranges, R101. Are you stupid or desperate?

by Anonymousreply 103February 20, 2020 2:54 PM

People are angry at Pete for being gay, instead of bi, fluid or questioning.

'Gay' wounds them.

by Anonymousreply 104February 20, 2020 2:57 PM

[quote] If Pete is for equality, why is he supporting affirmative action for women?

Because females have been treated as less than men, especially in the business sector, since for centuries. All the equal pay for male and female talk has been little more than talk for decades. Females are still paid less than men for the same work and same experience. I'm a man and I know this to be fact.

Since men obviously won't change this on our own it will probably take some sort of government action to force the 100% equal treatment of women.

That's why.

by Anonymousreply 105February 20, 2020 3:06 PM

[quote] It’s not a good look for a man debating a woman and he needs to tone it down.

I didn't see it that way. I saw it as Pete was finally getting as tough on Amy as she was on him in the last debate.

But that's not how others are necessarily seeing it. Here's some crap form the Guardian review of the debate:

[quote] Pete Buttigieg’s performance was also noteworthy. The mayor may be able to read Norwegian but he can’t seem to read a room. Buttigieg’s constant attacks on Amy Klobuchar made him look like a mansplaining bully.

[quote] “Mayo Pete” has been gliding through this election but I wouldn’t be surprised if more people start to find his patronizing demeanour a little hard to stomach.

by Anonymousreply 106February 20, 2020 3:20 PM

I'm here to protect and defend the American people, not to listen to them.

by Anonymousreply 107February 20, 2020 3:22 PM

R106, that's a writer for The Guardian? How embarrassing -- those bits sound ripped off straight from HuffPo or a Twitter sidebar.

by Anonymousreply 108February 20, 2020 3:23 PM

“Are you mocking me?” “Are you calling me dumb?” “I wish everyone could be as perfect as you, Pete” That was some manipulative gaslighting bullshit. But not even effective or strategic just pathetic and borderline viciously unhinged.

Pete finally and truly exposed her as the weak toxic person she truly is - and he barely had to even lift a finger.

by Anonymousreply 109February 20, 2020 3:23 PM

Amy is a master of shesplaining.

"patronizing demeanour" = knows what the fuck he's talking about.

by Anonymousreply 110February 20, 2020 3:26 PM

Obama's articulate confidence and intelligence got him called "uppity" by racists. Amy's responses to Pete are in a similar vein. Not racist, but homophobic ("flowery") and contemptuous of his abilities ("perfect as you, Pete").

by Anonymousreply 111February 20, 2020 3:26 PM

She's got all the warmth and charm of a robot. She comes across as cold, unfeeling, and mechanical.

by Anonymousreply 117February 20, 2020 3:52 PM

She keeps using the argument that because she won in a blue state, and Pete lost in a red one, that she is better suited to bring in Republicans. In the Iowa Caucus, however, Pete was the one that saw Republicans registering as Democrats to caucus for him, and he was the one that won back the Obama/Trump voters.

by Anonymousreply 118February 20, 2020 3:55 PM

Pete highlighting that she’s approved some of Trump’s judges isn’t smart for him. It shows that she works across the aisle and makes Republicans more likely to support her. The nominee can’t win without moderate independent and Republican voters, and Amy is the most likely to get those votes.

by Anonymousreply 122February 20, 2020 4:06 PM

She was on the minority side. That's not working across the aisle. That's collaborating.

by Anonymousreply 123February 20, 2020 4:09 PM

Wasn’t it specifically that she approved anti-immigrant, pro family separation judges? That should be brought up in Nevada of all places.

by Anonymousreply 124February 20, 2020 4:12 PM

She’s the candidate that Republicans find the most tolerable, and that’s who needs to be the nominee in order to get Trump voted out.

by Anonymousreply 125February 20, 2020 4:17 PM

Amy has said that Pete was more interested in watching cartoons than watching the impeachment trial. That's a lie--he didn't say anything close to that. Amy said that Pete knowing the name of the Mexican president was trivial ("A game of Jeopardy") when it's her job in the sentate to work with the Mexican president to maintain and improve our countrys' relationship. Amy said that Pete was nothing more than a well-spoken guy who can memorize talking points.

Yeah, Pete was right in calling out Amy on the failings of her service as a Senator.

by Anonymousreply 126February 20, 2020 4:35 PM

I love that Pete is from Indiana. You just know that Amy and the rest want to accuse Pete of being a "left-coast elitist" but they can't since Pete is as if not more "heartland" than even Amy and Liz.

by Anonymousreply 127February 20, 2020 4:36 PM

[quote] She’s the candidate that Republicans find the most tolerable, and that’s who needs to be the nominee in order to get Trump voted out.

Nearly all Republicans are going to vote for Trump whether the Democratic nominate someone tolerable to them or not. I don't give a shit what the Republicans want, we need the ticket that most Democrats and Independents will vote for.

Buttigieg waving the Hoosier flag is so annoying. He was educated in private schools, not the Hoosier experience at all. In fact, it's where you send your child when you want to insulate him from the Hoosier experience. He got out when he was 18 and went to Harvard, as was always the plan. Then off to the UK to study. Then he moved to Chicago for McKinsey and worked at think tanks and on political campaigns in Washington, D.C. Going back to South Bend was simply a strategic move to snare an elected office. And even then, Hoosier that some of you would have him be, he struck out on a state campaign and had to retreat to his 'hometown' of South Bend.

He's from Indiana, that much is true. But he is hardly of it.

Klobuchar’s body language and barely concealed sneer is one I’ve seen dozens of times from wealthy white liberal women who talk the talk, but stumble when it’s time to walk the walk. It’s patronizing “tolerance” – until it’s not.

But when it’s time for her to turn her fire on Buttigieg, she faced him directly with a look that rich Midwesterners normally reserve for baristas who forget to make a heart in their milk foam.

Like women who hosted bachelorette parties at gay bars before marriage equality was legal because they wanted one last wild night, it’s doubtful Klobuchar even knows that we’ve seen her type before

CNN about to run a story: how did it get so personal between Pete and Amy? The angle will be interesting.

by Anonymousreply 168February 20, 2020 7:34 PM

We Need to Talk About Amy.

From last year's Vanity Fair profile-

[quote] TERRIFIED AIDES SAY AMY KLOBUCHAR IS JUST LIKE TRUMP

[quote] A March 2018 article in Politico described Klobuchar as among the “worst bosses in Congress,” with the highest office turnover rate in the Senate. But the new details reported by BuzzFeed and the Huffington Post, if true, are particularly damning. BuzzFeed reviewed e-mails, often sent between 1 and 4 in the morning, in which Klobuchar “regularly berated employees, often in all capital letters, over minor mistakes, misunderstandings, and misplaced commas. Klobuchar, in the e-mails, which were mostly sent over the past few years, referred to her staff’s work as ‘the worst in . . . years,’ and ‘the worst in my life.’

[quote] That anger regularly left employees in tears, four former staffers said. She yelled, threw papers, and sometimes even hurled objects; one aide was accidentally hit with a flying binder, according to someone who saw it happen, though the staffer said the senator did not intend to hit anyone with the binder when she threw it.

[quote]When staffers made mistakes, the emails show, she reamed them out—and sometimes, emails show, threatened to fire them—over threads that included many of their colleagues.

[quote] According to the new article, multiple sources alleged that Klobuchar’s mistreatment of office staff began more than a decade ago, and that in 2015, then Senate minority leader Harry Reid told her privately that she had to change her behavior. (A spokesperson for Reid told HuffPost that Reid does not remember whether they had such a discussion.)

If all this is true, it should be a privileged for Pete to be hated by her.

And his VP choice will end up president.

But not as soon as Sander's VP.

by Anonymousreply 171February 20, 2020 7:36 PM

If she's going to behave the way she did to Pete's comments, then how would she handle the REALLY nasty, insulting jabs from Trump and his campaign? Whether you like Buttigieg or not (and some of the negative comments here are just childish), he can clearly handle a punch better than her. Warren and, well, Hillary can too.

Agree with the poster above that Pete's success so far just burns her to no end. Frankly, the same applies to many in the MSN as well (looking at you Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow).

by Anonymousreply 172February 20, 2020 7:38 PM

No, but she, Liz, and Bloomberg will keep splitting the vote and ensure Bernie gets the nomination.

by Anonymousreply 180February 20, 2020 8:09 PM

Some Pete and Amy observations from NYT:

Maureen Dowd (5/10) — Smug but quick on his feet. He tore into Klobuchar for her votes to confirm Trump judges, a fair criticism, and made her verklempt when he pounded her on not knowing who the president of Mexico was. Pity her debate prep team.

Will Wilkinson (7/10) — After a stellar New Hampshire debate, Klobuchar reverted to her mean. She held up under Buttigieg’s unrelenting assault, but she’s proud, and he got under her skin, and her defensive petulance when challenged diminished her.

Brittany Bronson (7/10) — Her humor, usually refreshing, couldn’t deflect from her lack of substantive answers. Pressed by Buttigieg and Warren, she seemed physically rattled and never really recovered. Her answers on immigration reform and Dreamers was weak.

Liz Mair (7/10) — Had a message and a strategy and mostly stuck to it, except when contemplating throwing binders at other people.

Michelle Cottle (6/10) — Almost had to be a letdown from her epic performance in New Hampshire. She’s good when she gets on a roll, but she didn’t distinguish herself in the free-for-all. Spent too much time visibly ticked off.

Gail Collins (6/10) — Last time was better.

Ross Douthat (5/10) — Her weakest debate, with tougher moderator questions and a war with Buttigieg that was more of a vicious, petty stalemate than the victory she needed.

Jamelle Bouie (5/10) — There’s nothing more dramatic in Democratic Party politics right now than Klobuchar’s unambiguous disdain for Buttigieg, and the extent to which she’s singularly focused on taking him down a peg. She tried to do that in Nevada, but couldn’t land a definitive blow.

Peter Wehner (5/10) — She was much less effective in this debate than in the last one because she was much more on the defensive. For the first time in a debate, she was rattled and off-message.

Wajahat Ali (5/10) — After winning the New Hampshire debate with her bold, energetic performance, Klobuchar was brought down by her gaffe of forgetting Mexican President López Obrador’s name. Buttigeg exploited it all night long. She fought back, hiding rage behind a smile, but she was clearly rattled.

Daniel McCarthy (4/10) — Her happy-warrior persona shattered when she was pressed on forgetting the name of Mexico’s president and on her immigration record. She came off as temperamentally ill-suited to take on Trump or serve as president. She’s a legislator out of her league.

Maureen Dowd (3/10) — Her bangs weren’t shaking, but she was, spending much of the night on the ropes, as she sparred with a pot-stirring Pete. She failed to build on her strong performance in New Hampshire.

Maybe even a Mom joke about that's why she'd never go on Jeopardy.

Her reactions--from rattling off the number of Knesset members to looking like she wanted to throw a stapler at Pete--were just bizarre as it didn't have to be a big deal at all.

by Anonymousreply 206February 20, 2020 10:06 PM

R167 read that article earlier. Yes, you can’t say she’s blatantly homophobic because there is just no hard evidence there. Why can't you treat me like I would be treated by any stranger on the street? Pete calmly responded "Because I am not, one of your fans!" and attempted to walk away with a smug smile.

by Anonymousreply 211February 20, 2020 10:22 PM

It's a fact that women bosses are judged more harshly on identical behavior in the workplace.

If a man throws office supplies at a staff person and hits them, the male boss is praised for his keen eye and athletic prowess, while the women is deemed an out-of-control shrew. Why is it my problem if I helpfully throw a needed scotch tape dispenser at an employee and it hits them because THEY FAIL TO CATCH IT?

by Anonymousreply 212February 20, 2020 10:27 PM

For sure r205. They're both hot heads. He doesn't show his rage as much in his physical responses but you can see it in his eyes and mouth. by Anonymousreply 217February 20, 2020 11:20 PM

There are many reasons for her to hate all the other candidates (since they’re all polling ahead of her) yet the only one she really hates is the one gay one.

All her attacks on him dogwhistles. Do you really think she didn’t know what she was doing when she called him flowery?

by Anonymousreply 218February 20, 2020 11:28 PM

Unhappiness, entitlement, and desperation thicker than Thousand Island salad dressing.

by Anonymousreply 219February 20, 2020 11:32 PM

Oops. Wrong Amy thread -- but it still fits!

by Anonymousreply 220February 20, 2020 11:33 PM

Elizabeth - hand me the ax!

by Anonymousreply 221February 20, 2020 11:44 PM

I stool don’t have a clear idea of what Amy has done in her political career except get re-elected and pass farm bills. I have never thought of her as someone who understands anything about urban issues and I cringe at the idea of her representing the US on the world stage. And yes Pete was strategic last night. But she had it coming. I don’t believe she forgot the Mexican president’s name; she may have heard it before but it wasn’t common knowledge to her. Full disclosure, my favorite is still Warren and I wish she’d shown last night’s fire at least two debates ago.

by Anonymousreply 222February 21, 2020 12:22 AM

[quote]There are many reasons for her to hate all the other candidates (since they’re all polling ahead of her) yet the only one she really hates is the one gay one.

He’s her most direct competition, and he has far less political experience than her and is not qualified to be running for President... it has nothing to do with him being gay.

by Anonymousreply 223February 21, 2020 12:28 AM

[quote]I stool don’t have a clear idea of what Amy has done in her political career

Well shit! That's a mess we better wipe up!

by Anonymousreply 224February 21, 2020 12:35 AM

She has attracted Republican votes for one thing.

by Anonymousreply 225February 21, 2020 12:56 AM

Was a relief to read this article. She’s managed to fool so many but this is what she is.

Amy voted for Trump’s judges. Be gone!

by Anonymousreply 227February 21, 2020 1:25 AM

I agree R214

by Anonymousreply 228February 21, 2020 2:10 AM

I wish she had a hairstyle that didn't exacerbate her trembling rage.

by Anonymousreply 229February 21, 2020 2:49 AM

I wish she had emotional maturity that didn’t exacerbate her hair.

by Anonymousreply 230February 21, 2020 2:53 AM

Pete, along with Bernie shouldn't even be running. They have ZERO chance of beating Trump. Actually, in Pete's case, that would also be ZERO chance of getting the nomination too.

by Anonymousreply 231February 21, 2020 3:04 AM

Yet, they currently have the most delegates. There seems to be a flaw in your logic.

by Anonymousreply 232February 21, 2020 3:07 AM

R231 = one of Amy's frightened interns being held at stapler-point at his desk. He better emphasize the word ZERO in all caps or else it gets the salad fork.

by Anonymousreply 233February 21, 2020 3:10 AM

LOL @ held at stapler-point.

by Anonymousreply 234February 21, 2020 3:10 AM

I expect she will run to Rachel Maddow soon for a lovely hour-long tongue bath as a way of feeling better about the debate. They can both shit on "Pete" (as Amy calls him). Joy can also make a guest appearance on the show.

by Anonymousreply 235February 21, 2020 4:21 AM

What's wrong with figs ?

by Anonymousreply 239February 21, 2020 4:48 AM

It’s funny - so many people despise Amy. Even Trump said she “choked” during the last debate. Yet all the stupid cunt can do is obsess over Pete because he’s walking all over her and is a huge threat.😂

by Anonymousreply 240February 21, 2020 4:52 AM

I don't think for her it would be quite so bad if it were a matter of "Well, at least if I don't make it neither will he!" However, he stands a chance of getting further this year than she does, as well as the horrific idea from her point of view of seeing him actually becoming president in a decade or so.

by Anonymousreply 241February 21, 2020 4:56 AM

Don’t forget there is new match, Tuesday night . All the fun of Nevada plus race relations will be front and center. Drink every time Warren says black and brown babies. There will be a 10 delegate bonus for whichever candidate gets Bloomberg to say the N——r word.

by Anonymousreply 242February 21, 2020 4:57 AM

Apparently, there are several white voters in South Carolina who support Tom Steyer even though at the previous debate he was begging the government to start cutting reparations checks ASAP! Who knew the state was so woke!

Everyone is expecting Jim Clyburn to endorse Biden the day after the debate. I'll laugh like hell if he follows his grandson's lead and endorses Pete!

by Anonymousreply 243February 21, 2020 5:01 AM

"I don't get why people don't just call it what it is: racism. Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Mexico deserves so much more respect than this."

R68 Calm the fuck down and then grow up a bit before you graduate college. I don't like Amy but you sound fucking insane.

by Anonymousreply 244February 21, 2020 5:15 AM

"Pete comes across as a desperate bully."

R198 As opposed to, say, Elizabeth Raging Warren or Bernie Dragon Sanders?

by Anonymousreply 245February 21, 2020 5:17 AM

I agree with the LGBTQ nation article posted up thread that there is an element of homophobia underlying Klobuchar and other candidates' and commentators' patronizing resentment of Pete.

Pete has been unfairly scapegoated for issues for which his rivals are guiltier than him:

Racialized policing and justice system - he was neither a prosecutor nor legislator in the national "arena" (have a clean comb, Amy🙄) Wealthy donors and use of Super PACs (paging L. Warren) Being insufficiently attuned to the problems of ordinary folk - this coming from a millionaire with 3 homes

It takes a helluva lot of guts to run as an out gay candidate for president in the USA, Trump's USA.

He's the smartest person on the stage, the most articulate and eloquent, rational, calm and pragmatic and I hope he hangs on for at least a place on the ticket.

by Anonymousreply 246February 21, 2020 7:54 AM

Hmmm, there's still something about him I don't trust. I cannot vote for him.

by Anonymousreply 247February 21, 2020 12:14 PM

You little queens do not seem to understand that she WAS IN THE ARENA.

by Anonymousreply 248February 21, 2020 12:29 PM

She will overcompensate for forgetting the name of the President of Mexico by calling him a MARICON.

by Anonymousreply 249February 21, 2020 12:30 PM

How often will she drop world leader names in the SC debate?

by Anonymousreply 250February 21, 2020 12:57 PM

[quote]Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Sorry but why does this person need FOUR names? Nobody can be expected to remember that.

by Anonymousreply 251February 21, 2020 2:44 PM

^ Please tell me you're being sarcastic.

by Anonymousreply 252February 21, 2020 2:47 PM

He's not be sarcastice, R252. He's just got extremely low standards for what is acceptable in a president. Same as all the people whining that it was so haaaaaaaard for Pete to come out in Indiana. Even when he wasn't regularly living in Indiana after the age or 18. Even when the presidency requires enormous strength. It's haaaaaard to come out, so okay. No prob.

by Anonymousreply 253February 21, 2020 2:52 PM

R251, Just the last name would have been fine. She didnt even know that.

by Anonymousreply 254February 21, 2020 2:55 PM

She didn't remember it. That's not the same as not knowing it.

by Anonymousreply 255February 21, 2020 2:58 PM

She will tell us about the King of Africa at the next debate, R250.

by Anonymousreply 256February 21, 2020 5:26 PM

I have a feeling they're going to play a lot nicer at the next debate.

by Anonymousreply 257February 21, 2020 5:32 PM

PETE has hired a lot of formerly OBAMA people. I will not be surprised to see OBAMA back PETE after BIDEN drops out. OBAMA WILL join ticket as VICE PRESIDENT to get TRUMP OUT of office. OBAMA WILL BE GREATEST ATTACK PERSON TO RUN AS VICE PRESIDENT.

by Anonymousreply 258February 21, 2020 5:35 PM

You cannot have someone run for vice president who is constitutionally incapable of becoming the president if the president dies.

by Anonymousreply 259February 21, 2020 5:52 PM

R259 technically he can since he is not running for President.

by Anonymousreply 260February 21, 2020 5:55 PM

The only mistake PETE has made is to recognize that racism and homophobia still is very strong in the United States. Easy to understand why since in the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY people have long ago accepted all people.

by Anonymousreply 261February 21, 2020 5:59 PM

[quote] Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.

A President can only be elected twice. And Obama has been. The 22nd Amendment is silent about a former President being elected Vice President. There is no prohibition against that in the text of the 22nd Amendment. And there is no prohibition against a two-term former president assuming the office if it is vacated by the President. However, the text of the Amendment would prevent that person from running again as an incumbent and being re-elected. Twice. S/he can only be elected twice.

by Anonymousreply 262February 21, 2020 6:01 PM

Obama is not going to be anyone’s running mate. Stop with this madness.

by Anonymousreply 263February 21, 2020 6:05 PM

Maybe we can get a Hillary/Obama ticket after the brokered convention?

by Anonymousreply 264February 21, 2020 6:06 PM

I believe OBAMA would love to fight with Trump and his corrupt administration. He is a fighter.

by Anonymousreply 265February 21, 2020 6:07 PM

PETE AND MICHELLE OBAMA 2020

by Anonymousreply 266February 21, 2020 6:13 PM

I did be rich if I made a dollar anytime Pete fans in this site keep yapping about how smart he is. If he truly smart you guys don't have keep trying to convince others. I guess he still speaks 7 languages not including his terrible Spanish. I have to stop laughing. Maybe he speaks Slovenia like melania.

by Anonymousreply 267February 21, 2020 6:16 PM

^ you write like her.

by Anonymousreply 268February 21, 2020 6:18 PM

[quote]I guess he still speaks 7 languages

And is there one that you speak?

by Anonymousreply 269February 21, 2020 6:19 PM

But his accent is terrible in all of them.

by Anonymousreply 270February 21, 2020 6:20 PM

R268. Of course, Pete is the brightest and the smartest rat face looking presidential candidate.

by Anonymousreply 271February 21, 2020 6:21 PM

R269. I am actually multilingual in comparison to petey boy. I speak Spanish, Creole and Swahili fluently. He need to brush up on his Spanish because all he speaks is spanglish.

by Anonymousreply 272February 21, 2020 6:27 PM

His Spanish accent is fantastic for a non-Latineh white boy.

by Anonymousreply 273February 21, 2020 6:28 PM

Lots of native Spanish speakers sound terrible when they speak Spanish. Spanish in the US is usually a low-class pidgin dialect that's murder on the ears.

by Anonymousreply 274February 21, 2020 6:29 PM

No. No, it is not. He handles the grammar and the vocabulary because he's smart. The accent is something else entirely. And his is dreadful.

by Anonymousreply 275February 21, 2020 6:29 PM

Yes, but we Hoosiers have the best accents in the US.

by Anonymousreply 276February 21, 2020 6:32 PM

R274. Pete fans like you can't help it but your ass as racist liberal assholes.

by Anonymousreply 277February 21, 2020 6:43 PM

Nobody needs to speak Spanish. That’s why I voted to make English the official language.

by Anonymousreply 278February 21, 2020 6:45 PM

IS EVERYONE ON HERE A LIBERAL OR RACIST IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THEM. REALLY!

by Anonymousreply 279February 21, 2020 6:46 PM

[quote] When I look at her, all I see is salad, comb.

Excellent, my American pawn. Everything is going exactly according to plan!

by Anonymousreply 280February 21, 2020 6:48 PM

R278 That's BS. That way the majority shouldn't make the rules for the minority. I bet you hate it when people speak another language around you. NO THEY ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU. YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT TO THEM.

by Anonymousreply 281February 21, 2020 6:50 PM

DL Fave John Pence speaks Spanish better than Mayor Pete.

by Anonymousreply 282February 21, 2020 8:16 PM

Hola puto, mi gusto tu pito isn't exactly speaking the language better.

by Anonymousreply 283February 21, 2020 8:21 PM

Late to this party... I had thought Amy was a reasonable alternative until I watched her debate performance. Wow! She is an evil hag.

A vote for Amy is a vote for Linda in HR.

by Anonymousreply 286February 21, 2020 9:58 PM

Linda in HR has gotten a lot of work done while Mayo Pete was still shitting in diapers.

by Anonymousreply 287February 21, 2020 10:07 PM

Funny you put "Linda in HR" and "work" in the same sentence.

by Anonymousreply 288February 21, 2020 10:14 PM

R288, right? HR doesn't do shit. R287 must have never worked a day in their life.

by Anonymousreply 289February 21, 2020 11:27 PM

I’m in a Super Tuesday state and I’ve been seeing a lot of Klobuchar TV ads in the past couple of days when previously it’s been all Bloomberg all the time. Not seeing any other candidate as of yet. It seems Amy’s come into some $$ since that debate (before last) and she’s going for broke, in my state anyway.

by Anonymousreply 290February 22, 2020 1:47 AM

I think that's pretty much our only hope is to spend it all and go-for-broke hoping for the best. She's in through super Tuesday anyway as there is Minnesota delegates to snag.

by Anonymousreply 291February 22, 2020 1:51 AM

It’s really unfair to these candidates who have to fundraise, competing against a self-funded billionaire (Bloomberg), and a Russian-financed stooge (Sanders).

by Anonymousreply 292February 22, 2020 2:23 AM

Klobuchar is the snotty teen babysitter you had when you were a kid. She makes you want to put chewing gum in her hair while she’s on the phone with her boyfriend.

by Anonymousreply 293February 22, 2020 2:32 AM

When Pete compared Amy to Walter Mondale that shit was SAVAGE! Even Trump gave Pete his props after that.

by Anonymousreply 294February 22, 2020 2:47 AM

I don't think that Pete was calling Amy dumb, but she is dumb. Much like Linda from HR, if you call her on her stupidity she will fly off the handle. In addition to her not knowing who is President of Mexico, she spent weeks telling her joke about the King of Denmark.

Denmark has had a Queen since 1972.

She's dumb.

And a bitch.

She hates Pete because he is younger, smarter, and he caught the attention of the nation the way that she couldn't.

by Anonymousreply 295February 22, 2020 4:00 AM

She is already calling him a f*g in private. I expect it will slip out in public before Super Tuesday.

by Anonymousreply 296February 22, 2020 5:29 AM

Guys, neither will be the nom - who cares? I do agree that Amy has been bitchy, but they are both just pulling out the stops before the last gasp. Both are poised to be possible running mates, but this late in the game they will kill their chances of that as well. Time to bow out.

by Anonymousreply 297February 22, 2020 5:37 AM

Why are we caps locking Obama?

by Anonymousreply 298February 23, 2020 3:47 PM

Well, now she screaming at him from the dock because his ship has now left her loser frau ass far behind.

by Anonymousreply 299February 23, 2020 4:24 PM

Well, now she screaming at him from the dock because his ship has now left her loser frau ass far behind.

by Anonymousreply 300February 23, 2020 4:24 PM

Should Pete date Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper, or Van Jones next? If he could of course

by Anonymousreply 301February 24, 2020 12:14 AM

^ Mayor Pete is married. Get over it already Amy. He's not going to another prom with you.

by Anonymousreply 302February 24, 2020 1:14 AM

Andy Cohen would kill to be First Lady.

by Anonymousreply 303February 24, 2020 1:16 AM

How long before mayor Pete tells her "see you next Tuesday!" , err I mean "Super Tuesday!".

by Anonymousreply 304February 24, 2020 1:19 AM

How long before Pete looks at her and says BITCH, PLEASE!
