BREAKING!!! Whitney Houston Back on Tour!!
Whitney Houston’s fans will always love her — and now, seven years after her tragic death, they’ll have a chance to see her in concert once again.
A new hologram tour that’ll feature a digitized version of the late diva belting her chart-topping hits will hit the road in 2020, first overseas and then later across North America.
The show, called “An Evening with Whitney,” will cover all of the star’s most famous hits, including “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” and “The Greatest Love of All,” all of which will be backed by a live band, back-up singers and dancers.
Ate you going??

No, OP, we are not going.
Let poor old junkie Whitney RIP with her daughter and her daughter's sleazy, murderous bf. With any luck her ex-husband will soon join them in the afterlife (or in the non-afterlife).

It is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Her family didn't get enough money off of her when she was alive?

What would be really funny is if they spend millions on the latest technology and it REALLY did look and sound like her, only it was Whitney during her last year, late, irritable, and with cracky voice that couldn't hit any of the right notes.

When Dionne goes we need a hologram of her during her later years too: sitting on a stool wearing sweatpants and golf visor and occasionally berating audience members for being late.

LOL. You do realize that Whitney's estate doesn't OWN any of the famous songs she sang? They are all owned by Whitney's greedy record producer who gets all the money from mining the back catalog. All the estate would get is money from the hologram tour of the hologram performing and even then the estate has to give a cut to Clive Davis. Whitney's estate relies on being on good terms with Davis, because he doesn't have to give them anything at all.

As if an artist's recordings being owned by the record company that paid for them to me made is particular to Whitney Houston or Clive Davis...

I Know people say Whitney wouldn’t want this (and of course Cissy wouldn’t) but I do wonder when I think about it if she really would be against it. This is clearly the way of the future, every artist will be immortalized this way, Whitney is just at the forefront of it. The young generation today doesn’t even care about good music or know how to recognize good music or a good voice. The artists who’ve been legendary over the last 50 years will soon be forgotten..young people simply don’t care (ask Madge). And let’s be honest, the Whitney of the 80s and 90s who had pride in herself and used to say she could never sing live if she wasn’t giving the very best was long gone by 2010 when she did that awful tour. If she was down with putting on that show, she probably would be down with a hologram if it keeps her memory alive and if the money generated was being put to good use like going to charity or to her daughter (who’s sadly deceased).

Agree that Pat Houston is vile. What doesn’t get enough play is how horrible her brothers are. In the Whitney doc, they were so awful about Robin; predictably homophobic and right there with Cissy and the religious based bigotry. That family is disgusting. Whitney never stood a chance.

I was watching some of the reality show stuff on Youtube. She had an awesome voice and she could be dressed up really well but what struck me in the tape was how graceless she was off duty... sort of crude and sloppy... how you'd expect the Kardashians to be (admit I've never seen the show.) Maybe she was already on the drugs then, don't know. But I expected more refinement than was there. I didn't realize what a product she was.

Well, duh! Whitney ruined her voice with drugs. Of course, she'd agreed to have some hologram perform instead of her and rake in the money to finance her drug habit.

Britney, JLo and Madonna are great candidates for this. Non-singing performers whose shows are all spectacle are better-suited for a hologram tour. It is a terrible idea for a dynamic vocalist who sang live and did not put forth spectacle in her shows.
