Steve did a great job last night, jumping in for Chris Matthews. I suppose that's the break he's been preparing for but it still had to be difficult to sit in that chair with no notice. And he was very gracious in his praise of Chris Matthews.

Steve seemed genuinely upset and surprised that Matthews was out.

MSNBC has too many "personalities" on its network like Ari Melber and Al Sharpton so Steve Kornacki is a nice alternative. Steve is a guy who simply knows a lot of stuff and is good at his job. He's not showing off or trying to sell something.
