Elijah Wood

Wood was on Seth Meyers. Over a year ago, he fell through a roof onto concrete and was badly busted up. He said he hand was chopped off. His girlfriend and/or wife had a kid. It's not easy to find any information about said kid, let alone baby pictures. No pap strolls. He quit smoking and is fat now and 39. Were you ever a fan?

His hand was chopped off??

by Anonymousreply 1February 10, 2020 4:37 AM

If he actually lost a hand and nobody heard about it, he's set a new Hollywood record for keeping his private life private.

by Anonymousreply 2February 10, 2020 4:41 AM

Looking like a hipster snack in his new movie. 😍

by Anonymousreply 3February 10, 2020 4:41 AM

at 2.42 in the video - ok he says his left hand "had separated from his wrist" so I guess it was broken completely off but not chopped off. He shows scars. Must have been horrible. I guess he got fat quitting smoking.

I gave up trying to find a pic of him walking his kid. I guess he isn't someone who gets papped.

by Anonymousreply 4February 10, 2020 4:42 AM

Maybe he meant his hand was dislocated, R4, and not amputated?

by Anonymousreply 5February 10, 2020 4:43 AM

Yes I suppose he did mean it that way.

by Anonymousreply 6February 10, 2020 4:44 AM

His company has a good track record. And his character in this movie is every hipster stereotype turned up to 11.

by Anonymousreply 7February 10, 2020 4:46 AM

He said he was [bold]literally decapitated!!![/bold]

Uh...by which I mean, he said he hurt his head when he fell...

by Anonymousreply 8February 10, 2020 5:08 AM

He got roofied.

by Anonymousreply 9February 10, 2020 5:16 AM

He's been producing some great horror and horror/comedy flicks under his SpectreVision label.

[italic]The Boy[/italic] is the Best Ever Gothic/Slasher hybrid and [italic]The Greasy Strangler[/italic] is hilarious and John Watersesque. I still need to watch [italic]Come to Daddy[/italic]

by Anonymousreply 10February 10, 2020 5:22 AM

People are always saying they’re decapitated when they aren’t.

by Anonymousreply 11February 10, 2020 5:29 AM

I remember his character in The Lord Of The Rings often looked constipated.

by Anonymousreply 12February 10, 2020 5:40 AM

he is NOT gay?!

never would have guessed that in a million years

by Anonymousreply 13February 10, 2020 5:43 AM

Elijah Wood is not straight.

Trust me on this one.

by Anonymousreply 14February 10, 2020 6:10 AM

Is his kid via the turkey baster?

by Anonymousreply 15February 10, 2020 6:29 AM

He has a house here in Austin, right across the street from a popular vegetarian restaurant in my neighborhood. He's seen all over town and no one bats an eye at this point really. Count me as someone who's also shocked to learn he's straight.

Do you see him around Austin now with a stroller?

by Anonymousreply 18February 10, 2020 12:31 PM

He's hardly fat.

by Anonymousreply 19February 10, 2020 1:10 PM

Good for him. Love to see good people being happy and doing well. Here's a positive Hollywood child star outcome.

by Anonymousreply 20February 10, 2020 1:28 PM

he's a chunky monkey right now

by Anonymousreply 21February 10, 2020 1:29 PM

Worked with him, extremely professional, weirdly asexual, very good DJ.

by Anonymousreply 22February 10, 2020 4:30 PM

He was in the movie 'Open Windows' with porn star Sasha Grey. It was... not the worst movie I've ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 23February 10, 2020 5:35 PM

Prancing Pony alert!

by Anonymousreply 24February 10, 2020 5:59 PM

Sasha Grey did a legit movie again? I had no idea.

I have to watch [italic]Open Windows[/italic] now because I heard a sound clip of Sasha crying in the trailer and I didn't think she had it in her.

She takes dick like a champ, but showing emotion is NOT her strong suit.

by Anonymousreply 25February 10, 2020 6:19 PM

Wait, didn't Elijah allegedly force himself on some young star? I cant remember if it was a.carter or c.haim?? Does anyone remember this from way back when?

by Anonymousreply 26February 10, 2020 6:27 PM

I don't get where Elijah's fascination with horror movies comes from. Most horror movie fans are easily identifiable freaks and pigs.

So why does America's Sweetheart Elijah Wood like such dark shit? He's a wimpy, baby-faced, innocent, innocent-looking, bright, goody two-shoes.

Is Elijah into horror flicks because of suppressed homosexuality, or sexuality of any kind? Is this a case of opposites attracting and coveting what Elijah doesn't have and isn't like?

Or is Elijah a psychopath himself, trying to disguise himself as a normal person with a sweet mask like Michael Jackson, The Joker and many others?

Why does he like horror movies, produce horror movies and now star in them?

Is he the pussy he appears to be, and the horror just amplifies his pussy, masochistic feelings in a way that he enjoys?

What's her damage, Heather?

by Anonymousreply 27February 10, 2020 6:27 PM

I think he's cute. Who cares if he like horror movies. I hope he avoids the horror of staying forever tiny and FAT, going forward. He's looks better with a slight build.

by Anonymousreply 28February 10, 2020 6:30 PM

R27 some people like horror. Deal with it.

by Anonymousreply 29February 10, 2020 6:53 PM

R27 's post sounds like idiotic, nonsense logic.

horror is probably the most primeval of the genres. you shouldn't judge horror enthusiasts by the quality of most of the product produced. even we recognize that most of that is trash.

are you saying that you don't find ANY horror films adequate? every real director has tried his hand at them. because it is difficult to turn such a standard formula into something new and interesting. The Shining The Changeling Psycho Jaws The Hitcher Aliens Let the Right One In Rosemary's Baby The Omen Silence of the Lambs Halloween The Birds The Innocents (better known in literature as The Turn of the Screw) Carrie Suspiria Misery The Phantom of the Opera 8,000 renditions of Dracula, Frankenstein (an incredible book, which has yet to be made into a comparable adaptation) The Wicker Man The Exorcist

some of the earliest movies committed to film are horrors, or phantasy which is a close neighbor.

obviously, you don't get it. that doesn't make it unworthy of notice, nor you a deep and cultured person because you eschew it.

by Anonymousreply 30February 10, 2020 7:04 PM

Mandy is really something. AND stars Nicholas Cage!

I want to know why America's Sweetheart is into horror.

Yeah, R33, you'd think he would be walking with her. Especially since she's in her third trimester.

by Anonymousreply 34February 12, 2020 9:13 PM

Boy did r30 get me wrong. Especially thinking he can school me in film history..

I'm a horror fan and I'm sorry you can't handle the truth about horror fans.

Also, there's a big difference between making a horror film or watching an occasional horror film to being a FAN, where it's your favorite genre, let alone devoting your whole life to the continuous production of them.

The question is why. If you're done defending your pride futilely, maybe you can explain Elijah's behavior and what the appeal for him is.

by Anonymousreply 35February 12, 2020 9:13 PM

As a genre, horror is the most profitable. They generally don't cost much and you can print money.

by Anonymousreply 36February 12, 2020 9:16 PM

What do I think about him? Well, he was a very talented child star. His big moment were those Lord of the Ring movies (I was not a fan of those). I don't know if he's gay or straight. Who cares, really? He does come across in interviews as a likable sort. I don't seen anything offensive or annoying about him.

by Anonymousreply 37February 12, 2020 9:19 PM

That's a rather sweeping generalization of horror fans, r27.

by Anonymousreply 38February 12, 2020 9:24 PM

I saw him at The Vista here in LA about a year ago. He is TINY! I mean, one expects him to be small but I couldn't believe how tiny he was. He was with his girlfriend and they were in front of me in line. Seemed nice enough. R31 Mandy is fantastic. His tiger shirt/tighty whitie outfit may be my Halloween costume next year.

by Anonymousreply 39February 12, 2020 9:55 PM

Anybody remember Wilfred? The series where he had a dog that talked to him? I can't remember all the details but it was very strange and last a few seasons...

by Anonymousreply 40February 12, 2020 10:17 PM

Yes, [italic]Wilfred[/italic] was amusing and [italic]Mandy[/italic] has its charms. You guys should understand that [italic]Mandy[/italic] wouldn't exist without the '80s/Stephen King revival that [italic]Stranger Things[/italic] started, however.

But [italic]Come to Daddy[/italic] is hilarious! BEST MOVIE OF 2020 so far! I haven't laughed this hard at a movie since [italic]The Good Boys,[/italic] probably.

He was fantastic in "I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore. Though I would avoid watching the trailer for it, because it gives away too many of the twists and turns in the movie. It's a dark comedy which turns into a thriller.

I saw him at a comic book convention and was surprised at how cool and zen he was. Wasn't smug or bored or condescending or fake at all. Actually walked out of that panel with like a really nice positive energy. I think even hugged a fan or something. I was really impressed. I didn't really care at all about him and went to the panel out of boredom, but he was really cool.

by Anonymousreply 43February 13, 2020 2:50 AM

"What's her damage, Heather?"

You sound like a real idiot. Horror movies are an entertaining diversion and can be quite lucrative financially; maybe THAT is why he likes them. To say he likes them because of "suppressed homosexuality", or his being a "psychopath" or has "pussy, masochistic feelings" is truly stupidity on a grand scale. And to say that "most horror movie fans are easily identifiable freaks and pigs" truly shows what YOUR damage is, you dumb twat.

by Anonymousreply 44February 13, 2020 3:08 AM

R35 wants the internet to armchair psychoanalyze (because i doubt any of us are professionals) an actor who has chosen to make his living producing films.

and implies that he, and everyone who may enjoy such films, is "damaged"?

by Anonymousreply 45February 13, 2020 3:25 AM

Looks like I got a little too close to home for r44.

Lots of “entertaining diversions can be quite lucrative financially.”

You don’t focus on horror as a career unless you’re a superfan and the question for him is why. And you don’t make them well unless you love the genre, either.

Everyone who can’t offer a decisive factor for Elijah choosing horror needs to STFU.

I’ll go Google interviews with Elijah myself while you twats pretend that horror superfans are normal people!

by Anonymousreply 46February 13, 2020 4:02 AM

They made me marry a Goblin and now I have a Precious and no career.

Uh huh.

by Anonymousreply 49February 13, 2020 9:24 AM

Also, he really likes the podcast My Dad Wrote a Porno, does that make him a porno freak?

Seriously, sometimes you just like what you like and there doesn't have to be some deep, psychological scarring as to why.

by Anonymousreply 50February 13, 2020 7:41 PM

"You don’t focus on horror as a career unless you’re a superfan and the question for him is why."

Who gives a fuck why? Obviously YOU do, but you seem pretty weird. You seem to think something is very wrong with Wood for his interest in horror movies. Well, that's your problem and I guess you will have to deal with it.

by Anonymousreply 51February 13, 2020 9:07 PM

Did you guys know that Ava Max wrote this song for Elijah Wood?

I though he was adorable in LoTR. I can’t imagine he would ever be fat.

"Anybody remember Wilfred? The series where he had a dog that talked to him? I can't remember all the details but it was very strange and last a few seasons..."

YES!!

I LOVE this show. It did kind of slow down after the first two seasons but it was very funny.

by Anonymousreply 60August 9, 2020 10:26 AM

Isn’t Wood alleged to have a big dick? Or am I thinking of some other unattractive actor I don’t give a shit about?

Isn’t Wood good friends with Leonardo DiCaprio? I may be confusing Elijah Wood with someone else.

by Anonymousreply 61August 9, 2020 10:38 AM

R61 Yes it is rumoured that Elijah Wood has a big dick.

And no he isn't good friends with Leo DiCaprio - it is Tobey Maguire who is good friends with Leo D. and Tobey Maguire is also rumoured to have a big cock.

by Anonymousreply 62August 9, 2020 10:53 AM

r40 Yes! He was good in that. The Australian version of Wilfred was even weirder.
