For me, I absolutely loved Halle Berry's dress the year she won! She looked so gorgeous, and her dress was a mixture of sexy and Hollywood Oscar Glamour... I loved it.
Who did you love?

Elizabeth Taylor, showing off the tracheotomy scar that won her the Oscar for BUtterfield 8.

Halle’s got a perfect body, and that’s great, because she very petite. Not tall, but perfectly proportioned.
That dress sucked. Sorry. Not into it. Not classy, classic, or my type of thing.
Halle’s fashion choices are great when casual, walking down the street, and questionable when formal or specific to an event or occasion.
She’s really really pretty and has beautiful skin and great bone structure. No makeup required type.
Unforgettable dress? Goop’s pink taffeta. Gawd that was ugly, but the bitch pulled it off. Made it kinda iconic.

This immediately pops in my head. It's not my favorite, and I don't know why it's so memorable, but it is.

Celine's backwards suit.
Demi Moore's self-designed monstrosity.
Even if you hate Julia Roberts, she looked like an Oscar winner when she won.

Awww, R8. I’m listening to Babs right now, as I clean!
Now there’s a great singer/actress. ❤️

Gwyneth Paltrow's pink dress was not flattering in the chest area. Not because she has a small chest, but because the dress didn't fit and sagged. The dress also needed better straps (or something) to hold up the bodice.

I kind of liked Nicole Kidman's chartreuse dress (still with Tom Cruise here).

R3, I've never understood the praise for that dress. It's a droopy thing in a color no white woman can carry off.
But yeah, I agree that for once in her life, Jennifer Lawrence hit the fashion nail on the head when she won her gong! She usually looks awful on the red carpet, because designers *will* put her into things designed for leggy curveless models, but her Oscar gown actually required curves. It's a lovely thing, and suits her much better than Goop's pink gown ever suited her.

The best she's ever looked.

That Halle Berry dress made her boobs look like some real low hangers.

Nicole's chartreuse number was a Galliano.
I noticed a real change at this year's Oscars - much MUCH less "skank" dressing. Proper gowns, and even some properly styled hair. What was the DL's view (or am I in the wrong thread)?

R36, I noticed the same thing. It was almost disappointing.

My favourite dress of all was worn by the winner of Best Animated Short. She is a woman of normal (not actress) size, and it suited and fitted her beautifully. The fabric of the skirt looked sensational when she moved.
Charlize looked great at the after-party in gold fringed Dior.

The previously mentioned Galliano gown Nicole Kidman wore is my all-time favorite. Here's a shout out to Gena Rowlands for wearing a pink cape over her pink gown with a matching clutch. In this photo, it looks lilac, but I think it was actually pinker than it appears here.

We’re in a somber mood R36, R38. Hollywood reflects that. It’s almost like a subdued ceremony that you see during wartime.
Thanks...I’ll Mary! myself out now.

For (intentional) pluck and fun you need to give it up to the costumer for Priscilla and her gold Amex gown.
