Mayor Pete Leads Iowa Results So Far!

Bernie bros are having heart attacks!

by Anonymousreply 108February 7, 2020 11:46 AM

I don't care who gets this, but the Iowa thing needs to stop. They're too small for this.

by Anonymousreply 1February 4, 2020 11:11 PM

The real issue is that the Democratic Party (United States) does not know how to cope with IT.

by Anonymousreply 2February 4, 2020 11:19 PM

Bernie may have something to say about Pete's "lead".
Shadow Inc. was launched by ACRONYM, a nonprofit corporation founded in 2017 by Tara McGowan, a political strategist who runs companies aimed at promoting Democratic candidates and priorities. McGowan, 34, is married to Michael Halle, a senior strategist for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign, which records show has also paid Shadow Inc. $42,500 for software.

This is an unbelievable moment!

by Anonymousreply 4February 4, 2020 11:22 PM

R3 Nobody cares what old fuck Bernie has to say. He should focus on not stroking out.

by Anonymousreply 5February 4, 2020 11:25 PM

Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!

by Anonymousreply 6February 4, 2020 11:26 PM

It's infuriating that the TV pundits won't give Pete his due. They are talking up Biden, reminding everyone that he has the support of blacks and Pete, well, he doesn't and won't be able to go the distance. They're acting like Pete's is just a fluke and that the winner of Iowa doesn't necessarily mean anything in the long run. Seriously. Do these pundits WANT Trump to win again?

by Anonymousreply 7February 4, 2020 11:30 PM

The blacks hate gay Pete.

by Anonymousreply 8February 4, 2020 11:32 PM

Oh jeez. Someone on MSNBC just said that this win for Pete is just beginner's luck. They're really trying to bring him down.

by Anonymousreply 9February 4, 2020 11:35 PM

The whole thing is really shady.

They used some app that Pete donated to, Bernie was winning then the app broke. When it was fixed Pete had a bunch more points. They're supposedly hand counting the results now.

They obviously wanted to stop Bernie because he was going to win.

by Anonymousreply 10February 4, 2020 11:36 PM

r9 Let them. He has a huge blitz going on in NH right now and the second biggest ad buy behind Steyer. We'll see about that beginner's luck on Tuesday next week.

by Anonymousreply 11February 4, 2020 11:37 PM

Many pundits right now are dismissing these results as being NOT indicative of the Democratic Party as Iowa is mostly white.

by Anonymousreply 12February 4, 2020 11:38 PM

Does seem a bit shady, R10.

by Anonymousreply 13February 4, 2020 11:39 PM
They used some app that Pete donated to

Can you please stop with these conspiracy theories? He bought election software for text-banking from same company as Biden and Gillibrand before she dropped out. That's it. It's the cheapest stuff most politicians use. And besides, that app crapped out, so they're counting and verifying manually now. The app literally isn't relevant anymore as it plays no part in the process at this point.

by Anonymousreply 14February 4, 2020 11:39 PM
They used some app that Pete donated to, Bernie was winning then the app broke.

Bernie was NOT winning before the app broke. Early indications showed Pete in the lead.

by Anonymousreply 15February 4, 2020 11:40 PM

The establishment Democrats are rigging it because they don't like Bernie. He hates them as well he should. He doesn't want anything to do with Democrats, he's just running as a Democrat.

The best candidate is Bernie because these other chumps are not. Biden lost either way. I'm tired of these corporately owned Democrats who are the same as Republicans except more prochoice and trans.

If they had let Bernie run against Trump, Bernie would have won.

by Anonymousreply 16February 4, 2020 11:40 PM

To those of you young enough to have been born in a much more gay-friendly era, there really is no way to emphasis the monumental significance of an openly gay man finishing first (thus far) in conservative Iowa, an achievement that was unimaginable to many of us.  Sometimes an individual so extraordinary comes along who is too brilliant, capable, authentic, compelling to be denied, despite what society perceives as insurmountable 'flaws.'  Catholic John Kennedy, black Barack Obama, gay Peter Buttigieg.  If America ever desperately needed a leader destined for greatness it is now.  Well done, Iowa.

by Anonymousreply 17February 4, 2020 11:40 PM
When it was fixed Pete had a bunch more points.

Yes, because Pete had precinct captains at every precinct, unlike Bernie. Which means his data was more detailed and was only off by 1%.

Also, the app was never fixed. The app was turned off after it crapped out and isn't used now. There was a coding error and a review will determine what went wrong.

by Anonymousreply 18February 4, 2020 11:41 PM

R15 Sure.

I don't trust any of these people.

by Anonymousreply 19February 4, 2020 11:41 PM

r15 People don't understand that TV stations were mostly in urban areas and so thought Bernie would sweep Iowa because they saw city folk turned up at those big caucus sites. Well, guess what bitch, the farmers turned up as well, and there was no MSNBC around to record them.

by Anonymousreply 20February 4, 2020 11:44 PM

I'm not really sure why anyone would like Pete. He's a slimy weasel. Listen to him talk. He doesn't mean a thing he says. I'm not sure why everyone thinks he's a really good candidate for President.

by Anonymousreply 21February 4, 2020 11:44 PM

R14, see R3. The connection is stronger than that.

by Anonymousreply 22February 4, 2020 11:44 PM

r22 Please tell me about this connection. You've read the article, so go right ahead...

by Anonymousreply 23February 4, 2020 11:45 PM
I'm not really sure why anyone would like Pete.

Pete is what every grandparent wishes their grandson would grow up to be.

by Anonymousreply 24February 4, 2020 11:45 PM
Bernie bros are having heart attacks!

Good.

by Anonymousreply 25February 4, 2020 11:46 PM

It's already quoted in R3 for you, R23.

by Anonymousreply 26February 4, 2020 11:46 PM

The DNC is rigging the primary against Bernie... by sending an unknown gay mayor from Indiana into the fight, and one who almost caught his popular vote just now in Iowa and will possibly surpass him in delegate count? What a plan! Or maybe, maybe... Bernie is just a shit candidate. 😄

by Anonymousreply 27February 4, 2020 11:48 PM

Trump the old hetero vs Pete the youngish gay: these were not the opposites I expected. I was tinking more trad like Republican vs Socialist.

by Anonymousreply 28February 4, 2020 11:48 PM

r26 Omg, he's married! Did you know Pete's national press secretary is dating Kamala's former national press secretary?! It's all a CONSPIRACY by the DNC to hurt Bernard!

by Anonymousreply 29February 4, 2020 11:49 PM

Pressed BernieBro at R21. Probably a non-binary.

by Anonymousreply 30February 4, 2020 11:51 PM
Sometimes an individual so extraordinary comes along who is too brilliant, capable, authentic, compelling to be denied, despite what society perceives as insurmountable 'flaws.'

It also helps that he's not a Jew, a black or a woman.

by Anonymousreply 31February 4, 2020 11:51 PM

And while the Democrats squabble amongst themselves the Republicans have begun infiltrating Democratic caucuses and voting for the candidates they know will lose against Trump. This is why we lost in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 32February 4, 2020 11:51 PM

Biden/Buttigieg 2020, the real unity ticket. Fuck the socialists.

by Anonymousreply 33February 4, 2020 11:52 PM

I blame the Russians.

by Anonymousreply 36February 4, 2020 11:57 PM

The blacks think Pete is Satan's chile.

by Anonymousreply 37February 4, 2020 11:57 PM

Bernie is worse than Ralph Nader.

by Anonymousreply 38February 4, 2020 11:59 PM

As a Jew, I wonder if Bernie condones his supporters smearing the openly gay candidate with rat emojis all over Twitter - given the historical anti-Semitic roots of that kind of attack and rhetoric.

by Anonymousreply 39February 4, 2020 11:59 PM

Bernie condones it all. Like Trump and the red hats, it comes from the top.

by Anonymousreply 40February 5, 2020 12:06 AM
It's infuriating that the TV pundits won't give Pete his due.

It just goes to show how nobody gives a shit what pundits think and people are voting on who they think is best, not based on some idiot on TV getting paid to give opinions.

by Anonymousreply 41February 5, 2020 12:12 AM

Bernie is a Jew. We have never had a Jew as Prez. Dems prefer gay Pete as the better bet.

by Anonymousreply 42February 5, 2020 12:14 AM

Of course he does, R39. Any smears work for Bernie. Of course, he won't say it publicly because he pretends to be above the fray. But it's clear that he approves as this is what his paid and unpaid surrogates do as well. As a fellow Jew, Bernie will never ever get my vote (yes, even if he wins the nom).

by Anonymousreply 43February 5, 2020 1:21 AM
We have never had a Jew

I have had plenty including Jared, needy fond of the peen.

by Anonymousreply 44February 5, 2020 1:31 AM

Haha media, my sides! Wrong, wrong, useless punditry going for viewers, creating poorly analysed narratives. They're missing out on Pete but they'll come around soon enough. Just look at Bernie. Just look at him. Sexy factor on television screen counts. Who'd wants the illtempered opportunist? We just need some of his better ideas snd set him out to pasture.

by Anonymousreply 45February 5, 2020 1:59 AM

So, who won?

by Anonymousreply 46February 5, 2020 2:20 AM

R46 Everybody is Confused, Fighting

by Anonymousreply 47February 5, 2020 2:29 AM

Many blacks and Latinos DO like Pete. But it's just the haters, the poisoned minds, and the protestors that we're hearing from.

by Anonymousreply 48February 5, 2020 2:30 AM

I don't know why Klobuchar hasn't dropped out yet. She has absolutely no path to the nomination or winning any of these caucuses,.

by Anonymousreply 49February 5, 2020 2:31 AM

it's the church of the poison mind, Man

by Anonymousreply 50February 5, 2020 2:32 AM

My dream ticket: Yang & Buttigieg, in either order.

I know I should support Pete because he's gay... but I guess I'm a bigger tech nerd & Yang is my real tribe. Plus, he'd probably convince Elon to develop laser guns for the Space Force to carry :-)

by Anonymousreply 51February 5, 2020 2:43 AM

I like that, R51.

by Anonymousreply 52February 5, 2020 2:46 AM

Being Jewish is not an electoral challenge anymore. Most people just think of Jews as normal white people.

by Anonymousreply 55February 5, 2020 2:50 AM

71% in now. Pete still in the lead and by a bit more than before. I love this multi-day Iowa caucus. I thought it was a disaster for Pete at first, but if he wins, this almost seems like he won multiple caucuses. And the drip drip drip results over a period of days is driving the Bros crazy.

by Anonymousreply 56February 5, 2020 3:49 AM

As long as she qualifies for debates, she's hanging in there, R49.

by Anonymousreply 57February 5, 2020 4:01 AM

I am enjoying the implosion of the Bros. I am sure it wounds their pride to know a [bold]gay man[/bold] is owning their asses.

by Anonymousreply 58February 5, 2020 4:13 AM

While I am happy to read the OP, I think Pete’s strength has a limited upper bound. That will become apparent if/when candidates drop out and there are much fewer contending for votes. Having a lot of candidates actually distorts the nomination process.

by Anonymousreply 59February 5, 2020 4:38 AM

I do not like him.

by Anonymousreply 60February 5, 2020 4:43 AM

R60

I think he's terrific, but accept that some people don't think so. I could never understand why everyone was fawning all over Harris, when I felt she was thoroughly obnoxious?

by Anonymousreply 61February 5, 2020 4:47 AM

The pundits narrative that Iowa doesn’t matter is missing the point. It’s true that the Democrats can’t win without the black vote. But we can’t win without the white vote either. Pete understands that. He’s taking his campaign to districts that voted for Obama and then voted for Trump. We need those voters back. Iowa alone is not important. But the hundreds of thousands of like-minded districts around the country is important and Pete understands that. That’s how we win.

by Anonymousreply 62February 5, 2020 4:54 AM

R61, I agree 100%.

by Anonymousreply 63February 5, 2020 6:57 AM

He lost the popular vote and eill only tie eith Vernie on delegates won.

So he lost on two measures and tied on a third.

That is not victory.

R65, as far as I'm concerned, social media is the second least-credible news source of all... with only junk sites like Taboola being worse.

No, I did the 20-question quiz from (I believe) the Washington Post, which compared my answers to the candidates' answers. Yang matched 17/20. Buttigeig got 15/20. Warren got 13/20. Everyone else was lower.

Yang appeals strongly to voters who historically leaned Republican, but weep over the total shitshow Donald Trump has turned the 21st Century Republican Party into. He's basically "Bill Clinton 2.0"... sane by middle-class standards, tolerant of diversity without turning it into a sideshow, and more interested in results than token symbolism.

He's also the only Democrat honest enough to be pro-nuclear power, esp. thorium. Other Democrats are too eager to panded to the "meanie greenie" nutcase environmentalists who want a carbon-free economy while ignoring the reality that nuclear power is the ONLY way to come REMOTELY close to achieving it within 25-40 years (at least, without radically diminishing everyone's standard of living).

by Anonymousreply 66February 5, 2020 2:39 PM

I love the Bros freaking out. Makes me day.

by Anonymousreply 67February 5, 2020 4:02 PM

This reaching to make Yang some sort of a Russian puppet via Tad Devine would be funny, if it weren't so sad.

by Anonymousreply 68February 5, 2020 4:03 PM

The difference is like 30 votes

by Anonymousreply 69February 5, 2020 5:05 PM
I love the Bros freaking out. Makes me day.

Yep! Just look at the Bernie Cunt at R69 as the perfect deluded asshole who has to make up lies to make himself feel better because he can’t face reality!😄

by Anonymousreply 70February 5, 2020 5:18 PM

Bernie's greatest challenge is not that he's Jewish or a Socialist, it's that horrendous Brooklyn accent of his.

by Anonymousreply 71February 5, 2020 8:56 PM

R68 = you are sad.

The Tad Devine criticism happened from the very beginning. Don't pretend like this is the first time DL has raised concerns about Russbot Tad Devine.

by Anonymousreply 72February 5, 2020 9:19 PM

Last I checked Bernie still had the most votes. If this was a primary, which it should be, Bernie would be winning by 4 points.

by Anonymousreply 73February 5, 2020 9:23 PM

Bernie’s greatest challenge is his plaque-laden coronary arteries.

by Anonymousreply 74February 5, 2020 9:59 PM

Bernie’s challenge is that he’s a bit crazy

by Anonymousreply 75February 5, 2020 10:04 PM

So Little Peter won right? When's the inauguration?

by Anonymousreply 76February 5, 2020 10:18 PM

Hear hear the obese mammoth R76 is speaking.

by Anonymousreply 77February 5, 2020 10:22 PM

Takes one to know one R77.

by Anonymousreply 78February 5, 2020 10:25 PM

Bernie will never be president. Everyone knows that except for the Bros. Once he has to campaign outside of his all white college town neighborhoods he is going to be in for a surprise.

by Anonymousreply 79February 5, 2020 10:29 PM

They say blacks don't like Jews R79, but Bernie must know that so no surprise there.

by Anonymousreply 80February 5, 2020 10:31 PM

Wow, it’s too bad that nobody in the Democratic Party has heard of spreadsheets and email.

As if they had the caucus votes could’ve been collected and tabulated within a few hours.

Amazing, an electronic spreadsheet that people can send via the inter-webs. Who’d have thunk it.

by Anonymousreply 81February 5, 2020 10:32 PM
Last I checked Bernie still had the most votes. If this was a primary, which it should be, Bernie would be winning by 4 points.

Huh?

by Anonymousreply 82February 5, 2020 10:37 PM

We Dems don't get on well with the techie stuff.

by Anonymousreply 83February 5, 2020 10:38 PM

Uh, this is the primary, dumbfuck.

by Anonymousreply 84February 5, 2020 10:39 PM

There are no results, only “results”.

by Anonymousreply 85February 5, 2020 10:40 PM

There are alternative results.

by Anonymousreply 86February 5, 2020 10:43 PM

Bernie had more votes, but under the Iowa caucus system that doesn't guarantee the most delegates. Kind of like having the most votes in a presidential general election...

by Anonymousreply 87February 5, 2020 11:04 PM

I guess I'm old.. & I feel left behind. I get a lot of young people are to the left of Pete. I'm not even in any diehard camp right now to be honest. But I'm voting for whoever is the nom. Idk, What's going on here? The level of vitriol towards him... a part it is Bernie stuff, a part of it is young people defining themselves against Pete or something.. I'm sure there's no homophobia in here right? Every gay actor gets dragged on this site so I know that game. Did they think the first viable national gay candidate was going to be a black drag race contestant? I still think it's going to be Sanders or Biden.

by Anonymousreply 88February 5, 2020 11:07 PM

by Anonymousreply 89February 5, 2020 11:11 PM

So much for identity politics. I guess the LGBT is less tribal group than others. I'm not drowning in debt so I still think he'd be better than Trump!

by Anonymousreply 90February 5, 2020 11:14 PM

It's internet trash talk. These Bernie or bust people are nuts though.

by Anonymousreply 91February 5, 2020 11:20 PM
Uh, this is the primary, dumbfuck.

It's a caucus, not a primary, dumbfuck.

by Anonymousreply 92February 5, 2020 11:23 PM

I guess, R21, that means he's as bad as Trump? Get fucking real.

by Anonymousreply 93February 5, 2020 11:54 PM

If the ex-mayor gets it Trump will call him Little Peter and that, will be that.

by Anonymousreply 94February 5, 2020 11:57 PM

Buttigieg (and Klobuchar) are as close to electable over Sandberg and Warren as any other viable candidate, because I guarantee you, no red state is going to be voting for Sanders or Warren. And if Biden doesn't pick up, it's truly over and say hello to another four years of Trump. And it won't be because of any name Dump calls Buttigieg, R94.

by Anonymousreply 95February 6, 2020 12:01 AM

R95 Prez for life if he wins in 2020 and don't quote me the Constitution, he doesn't care, neither do the others Republicans in power.

by Anonymousreply 96February 6, 2020 12:07 AM
Trump will call him Little Peter and that, will be that.

Bullshit. Do you REALLY believe that anyone who might otherwise vote for Pete would change their mind once Il Douche gives him a derogatory nickname?

Just.

Stupid.

by Anonymousreply 97February 6, 2020 12:13 AM

Bernie is the one that wanted caucuses in 2016, because he did better in caucuses.

Caucus voters self select as younger, healthier voters, because as we all saw, it’s a fucking endurance contest to be in a caucus for hours on end. Anybody who knows they can’t do it doesn’t even show up in the first place.

In 2016, Bernie bitched about how every state should be a caucus, because it favored him. It was a miserable endurance contest for the actual voters, but fuck what favored the voters, he didn’t care.

Now he got his wish and it didn’t help him. So whine whine whine because he’s pissed. He ran against a young man who also has young, energetic voters and that erased Bernie’s frat boy voter advantage.

So now just wait until he gets out of the Northeast and voters aren’t falling ecstatically at his feet. That’s going to be somebody else’s fault too.

by Anonymousreply 98February 6, 2020 12:20 AM

You have to admit, there is a certain irony in that votes for the socialist candidate are being taken away from him and distributed to others.

by Anonymousreply 99February 6, 2020 1:59 AM

Only in America... the irony of supporters of a guy who's been a self-proclaimed "socialist" since the LITERAL Brezhnev era accusing a millionaire entrepreneur of being a Russian asset...
