Rep. Rashida Tlaib booing Hillary Clinton

Bernie surrogates in Clive today.

Unnecessary.

It's tacky.

Hillary's diatribe on Bernie was also tacky.

Trump has really lowered the bar.

by Anonymousreply 1February 1, 2020 1:55 AM

Yeah, it is tacky. Not a Hillary fan but this isn't very helpful. Our politics has become WWE except not nearly as entertaining or homoerotic :(

by Anonymousreply 2February 1, 2020 1:56 AM

Hillary should sue.

by Anonymousreply 3February 1, 2020 1:58 AM

Wow, I never expected to see the left destroy itself this quickly.

by Anonymousreply 4February 1, 2020 1:58 AM

This is another reason why I'm not a Bernie fan. Many of his followers are divisive, including the Congresswoman Tlaib.

It's not helpful when we've got to come together and defeat the Orange Anus.

by Anonymousreply 5February 1, 2020 1:59 AM

Hilary did not go on a diatribe against Bernie. She was asked about him and she answered honestly--nobody in congress likes him. She wasn't talking about voters. If you want to read a blunt, pointed diatribe against Bernie, read Nader's letter to him. The one he seems to forget he wrote (he needs to take a nap).

If Rashida Tlaib ran for president and somehow got the nomination, she’d win about three states in a general election. The vast, vast majority of Americans agree more with Hillary Clinton’s political viewpoints than Rashida’s. She is an extremist. The Democrats shouldn’t welcome these people. Let them form their own political party.

by Anonymousreply 7February 1, 2020 2:01 AM

R7, She and her brand of politicians are the FUTURE of Democrats party. Not Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton

by Anonymousreply 8February 1, 2020 2:06 AM

Bernie should choose her as his VP. Unlike AOC, motherfuckin' Rashida is old enough.

by Anonymousreply 9February 1, 2020 2:07 AM

[QUOTE] She and her brand of politicians are the FUTURE of Democrats party. Not Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton

There are plenty of young pragmatic Democrats in the party who will carry on the moderate mantle. They far outnumber the socialists like Rashida. You can’t get elected in most areas of the country as an extreme leftist.

by Anonymousreply 10February 1, 2020 2:13 AM

Women really have no business in politics. Only men have the dignity and gravitas to pull it off.

by Anonymousreply 11February 1, 2020 2:16 AM

Why isn't she going after 45? Or Graham? Or McConnell? Does this lady not realize who the fuck has the power and is actually destroying our country? The fuck is wrong with her?

If she is the future of the Democratic Party, I weep for it. Her focus is misdirected and her timing is absolute shit.

But, hey, enjoy thos re-tweets, sis!

by Anonymousreply 12February 1, 2020 2:20 AM

[quote]She and her brand of politicians are the FUTURE of Democrats party. Not Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton

Then Republicans are the future of Congress and the White House. Those obnoxious, classless braying asses appeal to the Democrat Deplorables.

by Anonymousreply 13February 1, 2020 2:26 AM

If the squats back Bernie, one more reason to back anybody else.

by Anonymousreply 14February 1, 2020 2:31 AM

R9 Bernie is 78 and just had a heart attack. Whatever kook he picks as VP would likely become the President. (which is why many people didn't vote for John McCain)

by Anonymousreply 15February 1, 2020 2:37 AM

r15 Exactly. If Bernie is the nominee, the general is going to be as much about his VP pick as it's going to be about him. That VP would be the party's nominee in 2024 should Bernie croak, so you're basically voting with eight years in mind.

Also true in Biden's case. He literally said at a town hall earlier this week that he better pick a good VP because he's old and might die.

by Anonymousreply 16February 1, 2020 2:41 AM

R16, somehow, I feel Biden would pick a MUCH better VP than Bernie. Imagine AOC as our future president if you need a scary image in your head tonight.

by Anonymousreply 17February 1, 2020 3:08 AM

[quote]Imagine AOC as our future president if you need a scary image in your head tonight.

You're telling me you don't want to experience Perónesque addresses to the unwashed from the White House balcony? 🤭

by Anonymousreply 18February 1, 2020 3:12 AM

Dear god, I don't even want to know what AOC sounds like singing. "Don't cry for me, NY 14th congressional DISTRIICCCCCTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!".

by Anonymousreply 19February 1, 2020 3:14 AM

Isn't she the Grandma of The Squad?

by Anonymousreply 20February 1, 2020 4:14 AM

R17 We've already had over 3 years of one President constantly on Twitter. We don't need another.

by Anonymousreply 21February 1, 2020 5:11 AM

Trump is gonna easily be re-elected

by Anonymousreply 22February 1, 2020 5:14 AM

I don't like this divisive behavior. repubs can have brutal primary fights and always come back together no matter whom the candidate is. SOME Democrats on the other hand hold grudges unfortunately. I'm so afraid the Bernie freaks are going to fuck up 2020 too by voting 3rd party or sitting out the election again if their old screaming man doesn't get the nom.

Rashida needs to learn to behave. You can't go on attacking other Democrats

by Anonymousreply 23February 1, 2020 6:01 AM

Another reason to never vote for Bernie. These bitches are making it so easy.

by Anonymousreply 24February 1, 2020 6:16 AM

Nasty Muslim pig.

by Anonymousreply 25February 1, 2020 6:18 AM

It is necessary. Though Hillary is a sacred cow to some, her lingering haunting of the Democratic Party has to be exorcised for the party to move forward.

by Anonymousreply 26February 1, 2020 6:40 AM

Fuck this bitch.

[quote]She and her brand of politicians are the FUTURE of Democrats party. Not Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton

Then many of us will be exiting the 'Democrats' party. I'm a Calfornian, and none of the Squad could get elected to any statewide office here. Nor could their god Bernie. And if they can't do it here, then they're dead in the water elsewhere. This country is not far left no matter how many times you tap your ruby slippers together.

(And before you scream 'RACIST!#!' - I'm Latino.)

by Anonymousreply 27February 1, 2020 6:49 AM

'The Squad' members keep proving why they won't accomplish much. I'm happy if someone has "fire in the belly", but I think many of us are sick of the polarizing insults.

by Anonymousreply 28February 1, 2020 6:53 AM

Well, that's her. Bernie himself seems much more disciplined than some of his surrogates. When Hillary's needlessly harsh comment came out he responded by saying it wasn't true because, sometimes, his wife likes him. He's unflappable.

by Anonymousreply 29February 1, 2020 7:01 AM

R28 Ayanna Pressley is not this partisan.

by Anonymousreply 30February 1, 2020 7:20 AM

Ayanna Pressley's the best of them. AOC, Tlaib and the Somali one are all pretty worthless when it comes to actually getting things done. Though I do kind of enjoy watching Nancy Pelosi keeping them in line.

by Anonymousreply 31February 1, 2020 8:54 AM

Rashida is trending on Twitter now, with the same folks calling Pete racist for mentioning the word "heartland" earlier this week now saying it's racist to shame Rashida for booing Hillary. Something about tone policing a brown Muslim woman...

by Anonymousreply 32February 1, 2020 9:54 AM

I am not joking when I tell you that the Twitter BernieBros are EXACTLY like the Q Anon Trumpsters. The difference is that some of the BernieBros act normally when other topics come up, whereas Trumpsters tend to be stupid about almost every topic.

Otherwise, it's constant bitching and moaning and conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton from them and it is insane. These are from Sanders supporters who I didn't know were crazy but apparently are. "Hillary was hanging with Epstein at his ranch instead of campaigning" was yesterday's fun one; prior to that, it was "Hillary was supplying children to Epstein," which is just the leftist version of Pizzagte, really.

Oh, and that Politico article about a small faction of DNC members who want the superdelegates to go back to the way they were, instead of using the new rules meant to be more fair, started a slew of conspiracies about how the DNC is plotting against Bernie Sanders just like in 2016, and it's because they're beholden to people like Rupert Murdoch who pay Democrats to just pretend to fight against Republicans. The proof? A 2017 article where Murdoch allegedly said he wanted anybody but Trump to get elected, even HRC.

I'm telling you now: if you want to save the Democratic Party, you'd better get out in the primaries and vote against Bernie Sanders, because his supporters are fucking insane and he's doing nothing to rein them in.

by Anonymousreply 33February 1, 2020 11:06 AM

Rashida isn't "brown".

by Anonymousreply 34February 1, 2020 11:35 AM

[quote]Ayanna Pressley's the best of them.

Yeah, and Melania's the best Trump, so....

by Anonymousreply 35February 1, 2020 12:30 PM

On CNN this morning they said Rahm Emmanuel wrote an op ed that said, basically, Democrats need to remember who the enemy is and it isn't a member of the Democratic Party.

It cuts both ways, but the Squat and the Bern Bugs don't seem to know or care. Hopefully they have hard times getting re-elected because they don't seem to do much except showboat.

by Anonymousreply 36February 1, 2020 12:33 PM

Things like this will probably help Biden and Pete in Iowa. Possibly even Warren.

by Anonymousreply 37February 1, 2020 12:35 PM

r31, I'd rather Pelosi's time and energy not be wasted on saboteurs who have snuck into the party to destroy it from within. We have enough problems outside of the party, as it is. They are simply more photogenic Tulsis.

by Anonymousreply 38February 1, 2020 12:41 PM

[quote]I am not joking when I tell you that the Twitter BernieBros are EXACTLY like the Q Anon Trumpsters.

NYT: At the start of his 2020 bid, Bernie Sanders told his supporters that he condemned bullying. Some don’t seem to be listening.

Some progressive activists who declined to back Sanders have begun traveling with private security after incurring online harassment. Several well-known feminist writers said they had received death threats. A state party chairwoman changed her phone number. A Portland, Oregon, lawyer saw her business rating tumble on an online review site after tussling with Sanders supporters on Twitter.

Other notable targets have included Ady Barkan, a prominent liberal activist with ALS — whom some Sanders-cheering accounts accused of lacking decision-making faculties due to his illness as he prepared to endorse Sen. Elizabeth Warren — and Fred Guttenberg, the father of a shooting victim from the 2018 Parkland school massacre in Florida, who had criticized Sanders’ statements about gun violence.

“Politics is a contact sport,” said Bakari Sellers, a former South Carolina state legislator who supported Harris in the Democratic primary. “But you have to be very cognizant when you say anything critical of Bernie online. You might have to put your phone down. There’s going to be a blowback, and it could be sexist, racist and vile.”

by Anonymousreply 39February 1, 2020 1:21 PM

If Sanders wins the primary, how does he form a coalition. Yes, once in office he'll switch and be an "independent" again, but he cannot get there without the Dem machinery.

by Anonymousreply 40February 1, 2020 1:29 PM

The point is that Sandworm has proven completely incapable of getting anything done in his entire 40 year history in congress and that is exactly why Russia is pushing him.

by Anonymousreply 41February 1, 2020 1:34 PM

Apparently this was clearly billed as a concert with Bon Iver and then suddenly these three, Jane Sanders, and Nina Turner appeared on stage and started talking. Half the kids on stage behind the speakers weren't even Iowa residents, which tells you something.

And it was just the lead singer there, not the whole band...

by Anonymousreply 42February 1, 2020 2:38 PM

She's so full of shit.

She's trying to row back - AGAIN.

“In this instance, I allowed my disappointment with Secretary Clinton's latest comments about Senator Sanders and his supporters get the best of me. You all, my sisters-in-service on stage, and our movement deserve better. (3/4) “I will continue to strive to come from a place of love and not react in the same way of those who are against what we are building in this country. This is about building a just and equitable future for my two boys, children across the country, and future generations." (4/4)

She says something like this every time she runs her big mouth and expects to get away with it.

To quote someone she might like, Maya Angelou: “When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.”

Why doesn't she just admit she's a loud mouthed, intolerant hard leftie who doesn't think anybody is valid unless they think like her.

Because that's who she's shown she is. And I believe it.

by Anonymousreply 45February 1, 2020 2:48 PM

Reason #3929968 I'll work and vote against Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 46February 1, 2020 2:50 PM

Thank you, R39. His supporters are as repellant as he is. Nothing he or his followers present or say inside me to vote for him.

They disgust me almost as much as 45 and his supporters.

by Anonymousreply 47February 1, 2020 2:52 PM

*entice, not inside

by Anonymousreply 48February 1, 2020 2:53 PM

Agree r31 Ayanna Pressley is a responsible Rep. I also think AOC is has proven to be a lot more of an asset than a deterrent. I think she gets lumped together with the others because they are the Squad. AOC has said some problematic things, but she is awesome in Committee Hearings since she appears to be one of the few Members willing to dive deep into corruption issues. She made Zuckerberg look like a complete fool and called out the House's New Member Orientation for having literally lobbyists lead training sessions. NO ONE else ever made that fact know to the American public.

AOC is head and shoulders more responsible, but not perfect, then people like Rashida.

by Anonymousreply 49February 1, 2020 3:03 PM

[quote]Well, that's her. Bernie himself seems much more disciplined than some of his surrogates

That's because he lets them do his dirty work for him (including his own wife). There's been way too much shit surrounding his campaign for him to claim innocence at this point.

Hillary is not the problem anymore. She's not running and it looks absolutely pathetic that his crew is still hung up on every word she says. You're the candidate, unite the fucking party. Stop blaming one woman for your inability to be everything you can't be.

by Anonymousreply 50February 1, 2020 3:06 PM

[quote]If Sanders wins the primary, how does he form a coalition

The supporters that openly voted for Jill Stein will pull the "Vote Blue no matter who" line, which will be the height of hypocrisy.

If Biden gets the nomination, then it will be a different story of course. Always a double standard with them.

by Anonymousreply 51February 1, 2020 3:09 PM

Was her response at R43 supposed to be an apology?

by Anonymousreply 52February 1, 2020 3:09 PM

r26 there is something distasteful about kicking someone when they are down or in retirement. Hillary never made it to the WH so every one of her "destructive" initiatives were signed off by other people, usually Presidents. People call her racist while Bernie praised and voted for the 90s crime bill. Hillary's defense of Bill against woman is justifiable wrong, but she's a political animal and it's been years. Bernie has done or allowed equally distasteful things to occur within his 2016 campaign and hires questionable people with racist pasts. All this to say, you don't get to their level without dirt on your hands.

I don't see how this helps and I didn't see a single Senator correct Hillary's statement about Bernie's Senatorial popularity. Seeing his followers, it's not wonder he isn't well liked.

by Anonymousreply 53February 1, 2020 3:09 PM

[quote]Bernie himself seems much more disciplined than some of his surrogates.

That's the whole problem - his surrogates are some of the nastiest people around. And he makes them do the dirty work for him so he doesn't have to. Which is exactly how cults operate.

by Anonymousreply 54February 1, 2020 3:10 PM

[quote]his surrogates are some of the nastiest people around. And he makes them do the dirty work for him so he doesn't have to. Which is exactly how cults operate.

Not mine! I wouldn't ask anybody to do anything I wouldn't do myself.

by Anonymousreply 55February 1, 2020 3:12 PM

r54 the only thing I'd like to see is his surrogates attack MAGAs in a General Election. Of course, they can't help themselves and attack Dems with friendly fire, but I'd love to see those Twitter Wars. I don't believe our country will have another Civil War, especially over Trump, but we might see the first real social media war. Facebook and Twitter will fall apart.

by Anonymousreply 56February 1, 2020 3:18 PM

R33 Correct. The hardcore Bernieites are like the worst of the MAGA Red Hat morons. This week's conspiracy about the DNC plotting against Bernie--excuse me, Tom Perez and the DNC bent over backwards to change the rules and cater to Bernie because they were afraid of pissing these people off.

And other Democrats (like me and President Obama) that have concerns about Bernie's electability--aren't we entitled to our opinions too? Anytime we bring up the fact that mainstream America will not elect a 78 year old Socialist Jew from Vermont President, we get personally attacked by these people.

by Anonymousreply 57February 1, 2020 4:10 PM

Nope. Not allowed opinions unless its lockstep with theirs, R57. They want your silence, your party, your vote and your money, though!

by Anonymousreply 58February 1, 2020 4:48 PM

Exactly, R50. At least Cheeto (as loathsome as he is) insults people himself. That's probably because he has no self-control but still. Bernie just delegates the smearing, booing and shit-talking to his surrogates. Whenever asked about his followers' or surrogates' questionable tactics, he feigns ignorance ("what? those can't be my people?") or doesn't say anything at all. Fuck him and fuck his surrogates. He will never get my vote. I can't say the same for any other Dem candidate except Tulsi.

by Anonymousreply 59February 1, 2020 4:50 PM

Fuck Bernie.

Fuck Bernie's awful campaign staff.

Fuck Bernie's toxic surrogates.

And fuck Bernie's bullying cult.

They're all just Trump/Trumpsters of the Left.

Vile, reprehensible, willfully ignorant & misinformed, bigoted assholes. All of them.

by Anonymousreply 60February 1, 2020 5:22 PM

FYI Ayanna Pressley is a surrogate of Warren, not Sanders. That sets her apart from the rest of the Squad

by Anonymousreply 61February 1, 2020 7:51 PM

That lowbrow host showed what kind of trash she was when she pronounced Hillary's name as "Hillary Clin-in". Uneducated sow.

by Anonymousreply 62February 1, 2020 7:54 PM

She's dumb and unnecessarily divisive. Hillary isn't running for election. Bernie is. Way to piss off more Hillary supporters.

by Anonymousreply 63February 1, 2020 8:02 PM

This will cost Bernie Iowa. His cultish supporters will be his undoing.

by Anonymousreply 64February 1, 2020 8:12 PM

I think one of the reasons that Pete has surprised so many people is because he has consistently tried to avoid name-calling and insulting the opposition. He's able to make a point without those tactics, which is refreshing. I don't think he has a real chance of winning the presidency, but he would be a huge asset in the Senate or the State Department.

by Anonymousreply 65February 1, 2020 8:26 PM

R65, in that sense, he reminds me of Obama. Obama wasn't really nasty in the way Bernie and his supporters are.

by Anonymousreply 66February 1, 2020 8:44 PM

Hillary should keep quiet and go away. But still, these Squad bitches are genuinely awful. Hitching their wagons to the nasty Bernie train will be their undoing.

by Anonymousreply 67February 1, 2020 10:24 PM

Fuck off, R67. Hillary has been right about everything, she's earned her right to speak her mind.

Also, Pete has thrown Hillary and Obama under the Bus before, and rushed to defend Tulsi, so he's no angel either. But he's nowhere near as bad as Bernie. Few people are.

by Anonymousreply 68February 1, 2020 11:58 PM

[quote] Pete has thrown Hillary and Obama under the Bus before,

When?

by Anonymousreply 69February 2, 2020 12:07 AM

More than one undesirable outcome can be linked to the loyalty that decrees absolute Hillary Clinton's right to a number of things.

by Anonymousreply 70February 2, 2020 12:09 AM

He didn't throw either one under the bus, R69. It's just Bernie Bro smear tactics.

by Anonymousreply 71February 2, 2020 12:15 AM

I find it suspicious that these Muslim bitches are all-in for the elderly Jew candidate.

by Anonymousreply 72February 2, 2020 12:18 AM

Does she or do any of the Hillary-haters really think this is going to make me want to vote for Bernie Sanders?

Forget it. Just see if you can get Bernie elected without people who supported Hillary. Try it and see.

by Anonymousreply 73February 2, 2020 1:36 AM

Why is “heartland” racist?

by Anonymousreply 74February 2, 2020 1:42 AM

Ask the Bernie Bros and Warren diva worshippers. They're the ones who had a problem with it.

by Anonymousreply 75February 2, 2020 1:46 AM

If Hillary pisses off Bernie's supporters, it doesn't matter to her. She is a private citizen and not running for office.

But Rashida Tlaib and Bernie both want to be elected in the fall. Piss of Hillary's supporters, and they will not win.

Tlaib is an idiot for having said this, and for not apologizing properly.

by Anonymousreply 76February 2, 2020 2:11 AM

There must have been some serious backlash because the mouthy bitch has already started apologizing for running her mouth about Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 77February 2, 2020 2:15 AM

At first I was concerned about Hillary's comments because I knew it would cause a meltdown in the Bro sphere. But I should've figured out the genius behind it. While Bernie himself didn't take the bait, his minions did, and now they've alienated a bunch of people who may have been considering Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 78February 2, 2020 2:19 AM

Now that the House is not currently doing high-profile work, since the Impeachment Inquiry finished up, this bitch felt free to run her mouth on TV.

When the House is being covered heavily in the media, Nancy keeps these Squad bitches tightly muzzled.

by Anonymousreply 79February 2, 2020 2:29 AM

And...she's already backtracking.

by Anonymousreply 81February 2, 2020 5:57 AM

What pathetic excuses will she come with if "they" DON'T win on Monday?

by Anonymousreply 82February 2, 2020 6:01 AM

Sadly, R82, they probably will win on Monday (I have my fingers crossed for Pete). But if by some miracle they don't, the excuse will be "it was rigged by the DNC and Hillary." That's their go-to excuse.

by Anonymousreply 83February 2, 2020 6:04 AM

Did R69 and R71 just not pay attention when he threw Hillary under the bus to defend Tulsi Gabbard, and all those times he slandered Obama with just how 'disappointed' he was in him?

Please. Fuck off with your "I didn't hear it so it didn't happen" nonsense, especially when it's clearly you haven't paid an ounce of attention.

by Anonymousreply 84February 2, 2020 6:45 AM

Watching Rashida Tlaib’s totally inappropriate and unprofessional behavior in that clip confirms my suspicions that she has a genuine, full-blown personality disorder.

by Anonymousreply 85February 2, 2020 7:36 AM

The funny thing is that with all the energy on these threads, mentioning Pete sort of takes the wind out of the sails for me. Same with Joe and Amy. But Pete's rallies have been very impressive. In a non-Bernie year he would be getting more coverage and be the Iowa come-back-kid. Whatever happens this election has turned ugly and one again it's because the progressive wing has to act out. Why can't they just debate the issues and keep it moving. Bernie is so much like Trump that it's scary to watch 2016 start all over again, but on our side.

Trump and Bernie's supporters feed on anger, paranoia, and a hive mind mentality. Sickening. Anyone that believes a President Sanders wouldn't hesitate to use his own Twitter account to bully moderate members of our Party into submission are kidding themselves. Two sides of the same coin.

by Anonymousreply 86February 2, 2020 7:39 AM

R86 Pete's not super inspiring to me either. He would probably have been a moderate conservative if the Republicans hadn't chased out all the moderates.

I just hope Bernie doesn't name Tulsi as his VP pick, should he get the nomination.

by Anonymousreply 87February 2, 2020 8:24 AM

[quote] He would probably have been a moderate conservative if the Republicans hadn't chased out all the moderates.

He would and is whatever he believes will get him elected to some political office. Who knows what his actual beliefs are. He’s the most manufactured candidate imaginable..

by Anonymousreply 88February 2, 2020 8:34 AM

The Sanders supporters were livid yesterday because the Des Moines Register-CNN poll screwed up and left Pete off their list, so the poll wasn't released since it was basically incomplete. BernieBros have been hopping mad at Pete for hours, and are claiming that the whole thing was orchestrated so that CNN didn't have to reveal that Bernie was going to win Iowa.

It's always a conspiracy theory with them, I swear. And their loathing for Pete is almost as bad as their hatred of Kamala "the cop" and Elizabeth "Pocahontas the liar." Yes, BernieBros use racist slurs, because they're just the Trump cult of the left.

by Anonymousreply 89February 2, 2020 8:36 AM

You have to assume that the poll was going to show a big win for Sanders, and DMR and CNN, which support other candidates, decided it would be better to keep the results hidden.

by Anonymousreply 90February 2, 2020 8:42 AM

Sanders supporters sound exactly like Deplorables because the IRA (Kremlin directed Internet Research Agency) is running the troll farms & bots for both. This was laid out plainly in the Mueller Report. “Sanders and Trump — we support them.” What more info do anyone need to see what’s really going on here? They sound identical and employ the same tactics and even push the same conspiracy theories because They Are The Same.

And the long game with this is that once Sanders is exposed, the trolls can come back in and say, “See! I told you! Both sides are exactly the same! There’s no point in fighting any of it!” But these “two” sides, Deplorables & Bernie Bros, are not Republicans and Democrats: they are the Kremlin Party, full stop.

by Anonymousreply 91February 2, 2020 8:49 AM

That's Q-Anon levels of conspiracy R90 and it's embarrassing you'd even suggest it.

Instead of some stupid convoluted story they could have just fudged the numbers if they were trying to bring Bernie down. Come on, don't be stupid. Think.

by Anonymousreply 92February 2, 2020 9:07 AM

We’ll see if Bernie does win in Iowa, which will prove that is what the poll showed.

by Anonymousreply 93February 2, 2020 9:26 AM

The polls aren't all that accurate because it's a caucus state, and 50% to 60% of voters are still undecided anyway.

There's no reason to hide this poll. Other polls have Sanders in front. It wouldn't have made one bit of difference if this poll showed Sanders in the lead.

Of course Sanders would be in the lead in any Iowa poll at this point - there are two candidates splitting the super left vote and three splitting the centre-left vote. But when you add them together, the moderates still capture 55% of the vote...

by Anonymousreply 95February 2, 2020 10:17 AM

I simply find it doubtful the rubes in Iowa will choose a near communist like Sanders over Biden. These silly polls have all to often been proven to be jokes.

by Anonymousreply 96February 2, 2020 10:47 AM

It won't be rubes, it'll be mostly young people, wanting their college debt erased. That's what Bernie's movement is mostly about. He has hilariously low support among older people.

by Anonymousreply 97February 2, 2020 10:55 AM

Well then those old people might just fool everyone and show up in force to vote. Historically old people are more apt to go to the trouble to vote than young people.

And if those young Iowa voters are dumb enough to actually think Sanders or any other POTUS can just magically cancel out their school debt they're too dumb to be allowed the right to vote.

[quote]What pathetic excuses will she come with if "they" DON'T win on Monday?

“They’ll” blame Hillary, of course.

by Anonymousreply 99February 2, 2020 11:02 AM

Don’t like Hillary but rashida is an asshole

by Anonymousreply 100February 2, 2020 11:07 AM

[quote]Whatever happens this election has turned ugly and one again it's because the progressive wing has to act out.

The Progressives need to form their own Party and go out on their own. As it stands now, they are destroying the Democratic Party, just like the Trumpers have destroyed the Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 101February 2, 2020 11:08 AM

r98 "Reports of a hooded figure somehow appearing at several caucus sites at the same time, seen pulling voters away from Bernie's camp by whispering something about pizzas and emails into their ears."

by Anonymousreply 102February 2, 2020 11:08 AM

*Sorry, that was meant for r99

by Anonymousreply 103February 2, 2020 11:09 AM

Kansas chose Sanders in 2016, R96. Young people apparently went in and harangued everyone at the caucus, determined to "take over" from the actual Democrats. Caused quite a stir. That could happen again in Iowa, and I kind of expect it to, honestly. But the actual Democratic voters who trend moderate to center-right in Iowa would never support Sanders in numbers that are worthwhile.

by Anonymousreply 104February 2, 2020 12:23 PM

Caucuses are inherently undemocratic but Bernie loves them because they’re good for him.

by Anonymousreply 105February 2, 2020 12:56 PM

[quote] But I should've figured out the genius behind it. While Bernie himself didn't take the bait, his minions did, and now they've alienated a bunch of people who may have been considering Bernie.

And that is why I (sort of) love Hillary, despite some doubts I have. She is far smarter than her opponents claim. She made those comments on purpose, understanding perfectly well the infantile, reactionary mind of the Bernie Bro. They have started destroying themselves from the inside and I can't wait to see the remains.

by Anonymousreply 106February 2, 2020 4:18 PM

New Emerson College poll is very telling.

Yup, R107. For the life of me, I don't understand how the Yang Gang became a cult. Andrew Yang seems like a down-to-Earth, reasonable guy. He's not a Bernie, and yet his fans have that level of devotion to him. That is, unless they're mostly Republican or Libertarians (which I suspect).

by Anonymousreply 108February 2, 2020 4:51 PM

r107 By the way, MSNBC made a mistake in their graphic - Pete has 14% under Depends, not No.

by Anonymousreply 109February 2, 2020 4:56 PM

r108 It's money. Andrew is a nice Democrat, but all those Yang Or Bust supporters of his are bringing in money, so of course he won't say anything bad about them. And yes, they're mostly former Bernie and Trump votes, disaffected voters, libertarians, independents...

by Anonymousreply 110February 2, 2020 4:58 PM

R107, "it depends" isn't even a real option. That's the exact same thing as answering "no". So for Yang and Bernie, about half of their supporters will not vote for ANY dem who is the nominee.

by Anonymousreply 111February 2, 2020 5:06 PM

Are we surprised, R111?

And yes, it depends. If my candidate doesn't win, I'm willing to vote for any of the others EXCEPT Bernie and Tulsi. The good news is that only one of them has a chance at the nom.

by Anonymousreply 112February 2, 2020 5:08 PM

"Depends" probably means if their candidate is on the ticket. They might consider voting Democrat in that case.

by Anonymousreply 113February 2, 2020 5:10 PM

That's exactly why it's the same thing as answering no. It is either a yes or no response. "it depends" should not have been an option. And no, not surprised at all. Disgusted though!

by Anonymousreply 114February 2, 2020 5:13 PM

They might vote for him if he gets the VP spot. That's not exactly a no.

by Anonymousreply 115February 2, 2020 5:15 PM

It's not the same thing as "no." No means "if my candidate doesn't win the nomination, I won't vote for any of the others." It depends means "I will vote for some but not others."

by Anonymousreply 116February 2, 2020 5:16 PM

[quote] [Hillary] is far smarter than her opponents claim.

Her intelligence is implied when people describe her as cunning, wily, crafty, sly, etc., so it’s acknowledged.

She should put one of these on so nobody has to look at her stupid ass.

Yes, it probably encompasses all sorts of things, from VP spot to sheer bitterness in the moment when answering the survey.

by Anonymousreply 119February 2, 2020 5:17 PM

With numbers like that it means Yang is being backed by Republicans and Libertarians. He is the Libertarian Bernie-Bro candidate.

Bernie and Yang are both attracting the same flavor of voters.

by Anonymousreply 120February 2, 2020 5:42 PM

[quote] Her intelligence is implied when people describe her as cunning, wily, crafty, sly, etc., so it’s acknowledged.

It's not her fault the Bernie Bros didn't even read her comment correctly and went off on it.

by Anonymousreply 121February 2, 2020 5:42 PM

What I find really sad is that we aren't having a debate about policy issues (whatever it may be--tax cuts or increases, foreign policy, abortion/gay marriage, etc), it's all boiled down to a personality contest and who people personally like or dislike.

This Tlaib woman isn't ready for prime time, she took the bait and fell for the booing of Hillary. Somebody that wants to get something done for her constituents should be behaving better.

Republicans and how they fuck everything up are the problem here, not Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton. We have to keep it together to get rid of Rump and the GOP, people!!!

by Anonymousreply 122February 2, 2020 5:47 PM

R122 the policy discussions have been had throughout the debates. Every time a candidate got their head above the rest they were attacked throughout the media and by other candidates to bring them down (e.g. Warren). We know what each major candidate except Bloomberg stands for.

Bloomberg has that preacher cadence to his speaking that is VERY annoying. I was surprised at his "Tax the rich" plan because part of why he entered the race was other billionaires allegedly being scared of a Warren presidency.

by Anonymousreply 123February 2, 2020 5:54 PM

R123 I guess my comment was more a commentary on the media and society. I would just rather talk about the issues instead of acting like a 12 year old booing people. Our elected representatives should behave better.

by Anonymousreply 124February 2, 2020 5:57 PM

R124 I agree. Media likes to sensationalize.

by Anonymousreply 125February 2, 2020 6:00 PM

The 24/7 news plus social media means you really need to know which sites/publications to read to get the whole story. Attention spans are shorter now and news sources know that--it is all about the sensational headlines now. They know most people won't even read the whole story, so why bother.

by Anonymousreply 126February 2, 2020 6:03 PM

CNN panel just noted Bigmouth wasn't at the rally last night and that the campaign wasn't happy with her and had distanced itself from the remarks. John Berman noted they're always having to distance themselves from some unhelpful behaviour. Nobody disagreed.

by Anonymousreply 127February 2, 2020 6:15 PM

[quote]Republicans and how they fuck everything up are the problem here, not Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton.

Bernie Sanders is a big part of the reason why Trump got elected. So yes, he is very much a part of the problem here.

by Anonymousreply 128February 2, 2020 6:19 PM

[quote]CNN panel just noted Bigmouth wasn't at the rally last night and that the campaign wasn't happy with her and had distanced itself from the remarks.

Well, that’s Bernie’s problem for choosing the members of the Squad to act as surrogates.

Everyone knows the three of them are loudmouths who are too politically inexperienced to understand what isn’t appropriate to say.

by Anonymousreply 129February 2, 2020 6:21 PM

The thing that grates most on me was her use of the word haters... it grate when anybody uses it because it's stupid. People who disagree don't necessarily hate one another. To use that word so lazily says more about the person using it than the person or people they thing they are describing.

by Anonymousreply 130February 2, 2020 7:43 PM

R139, the term haters is so fucking immature. It doesn't belong in political conversations, yet, here we are! It shows how fucking low the bar is now.

by Anonymousreply 131February 2, 2020 8:31 PM

R130 it "other-izes" the target. Which is ironic considering Rashida is Muslim and is ostensibly fighting against such blanket characterizations. Very hypocritical and simplistic.

by Anonymousreply 132February 2, 2020 8:36 PM

Omg have we learned nothing!? I guess they want a second trump term.

Dems, w/o unity we are DONE

by Anonymousreply 133February 2, 2020 8:40 PM

What did you say she was mad about? Iraq? Yes, I was mad too but I voted for Hilary.

by Anonymousreply 134February 2, 2020 9:03 PM

I’m laughing at everyone gravitating to the term “big mouth” because that’s what I’ve considered her since about 5 minutes after her election. What’s worse is that she has nothing to back up that mouth, and shits herself when called out on it. Total bad look, plus strategically moronic. Take it from Nancy’s playbook: be an assassin, not a grenade thrower.

AOC has better instincts and more of a work ethic than RT, so I have hope that she’ll learn from her missteps.

Is this woman getting primaried? I wouldn’t want her representing me.

by Anonymousreply 135February 2, 2020 11:42 PM

I just looked it up: she just has one weirdo running against her. The filing deadline isn’t until April, though.

by Anonymousreply 136February 2, 2020 11:55 PM

In the last primary, there were five candidates and Tlaib only won with around a 30 percent plurality in a district that went heavily for Clinton. She's definitely gettable, the easiest target of any of the squad.

by Anonymousreply 137February 3, 2020 2:56 AM

I hope to god someone is Primarying Rashida Tlaib.

by Anonymousreply 138February 3, 2020 2:39 PM

Cheap shot, cheap trick.

What I like about Mini Mike is that he’s staying above the personal attacks on other candidates, and cheap shots. He is focused on defeating Trump. I don’t see Pete going low, either.

In the words of the zany Sinead O’Connor: fight the real enemy.

by Anonymousreply 139February 3, 2020 3:50 PM

[quote]What I like about Mini Mike is that he’s staying above the personal attacks on other candidates, and cheap shots.

His spokesperson isn't:

“The president is lying. He is a pathological liar who lies about everything: his fake hair, his obesity, and his spray-on tan.”

by Anonymousreply 140February 3, 2020 3:55 PM

R140, I meant other Democratic candidates. Thus far. Yes, he is absolutely attacking Trump. I love it.

by Anonymousreply 141February 3, 2020 4:17 PM

Bernie ended up not being viable in Clive, where Tlaib booed Hillary. Karma, bitch.

You all do appreciate that her reflexive scorn for anyone who disagrees with her is basically a post on DL?

by Anonymousreply 144February 5, 2020 11:21 PM

R143, I'd love to hear what this woman has to say about Pete Buttigieg in private. Especially now.
