Meghan and Harry "Shocked" to Find Out the Queen Stripped Them of Commonwealth Titles

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently stepped away from royal duties, which means they a) get to live a peaceful life in Canada, and b) will no longer be working on behalf of the Queen. And while the couple won't be HRH status, they do get to retain their Duke and Duchess titles. However, apparently they don't get to continue being Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors, a position that was important to them.

According to a report from TMZ, sources say Harry and Meghan were "shocked" they had to forgo their roles as ambassadors to the Commonwealth, and apparently they didn't even realize the ambassadorships were "on the table." But—per TMZ—"the Queen drew a hard line in the sand, and they had to surrender the role."

The outlet reports that Meghan became a youth ambassador right before her wedding, and she even had flowers representing the Commonwealth nations embroidered into her veil, along with a California poppy to represent her home state.

Despite not representing the Commonwealth in an official capacity, Meghan and Harry will doubtless keep up with the work they're so passionate about. Harry confirmed as much in his public statements on their big news, saying:

[quote] "We both do everything we can to fly the flag and carry out our roles for this country with pride. Once Meghan and I were married, we were excited, we were hopeful, and we were here to serve. For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this. The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”

I can think of a few things Harry should be stripped of and none of them have to do with his titles.

by Anonymousreply 1January 29, 2020 6:45 PM

Whining to TMZ? Did they really? Wow, new low

by Anonymousreply 2January 29, 2020 6:49 PM

They seem really clueless about the situation that they created.

If you're not "royal", if you don't represent the Queen, you lose your patronages. The Queen gave them the Commonwealth gig and she can take it away. What so fucking difficult to understand?

by Anonymousreply 3January 29, 2020 6:50 PM

OP = Duh

Harry & Meghan = Double Duh

by Anonymousreply 4January 29, 2020 6:51 PM

Harry should be stripped of a lot more than his titles. Starting with his trousers.

by Anonymousreply 5January 29, 2020 6:52 PM

R5 - You have low standards. There's nothing remotely attractive about a whiney, spoiled, entitled little shit who hides behind his wife's skirt. They're quitters.

by Anonymousreply 6January 29, 2020 6:54 PM

[quote]they didn't even realize the ambassadorships were "on the table."

The media seems like it's really out to paint them in the absolute worst light.

If they didn't realize that ALL of their titles, honors, emoluments, and royal activities were subject to being rescinded, then they really are too stupid and entitled to live. If they weren't being advised by smart people who knew the ins-and-outs of the system, they're just plain naive.

How could they honestly believe that grammy would not be forced to act, irrespective of her personal feelings toward him.

I once read an article that Diana only agreed to giving up her HRH because she expected that William would return it to her. I doubt that she ever imagined that the Queen would still be alive in 2020. I wonder if the same wheels were turning in Harry's head that either his father or brother would be softer touches than the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 7January 29, 2020 6:55 PM

[quote] I doubt that she ever imagined that the Queen would still be alive in 2020

Or that she would die in 1997.

The Queen has already outlived Diana by 23 years.

by Anonymousreply 8January 29, 2020 6:57 PM

I can't have my cake and eat it too, it's not fair that this is a result of a situation I created!

by Anonymousreply 9January 29, 2020 6:57 PM

R6 Of course I have low standards, welcome to the Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 10January 29, 2020 7:01 PM

Is schmegs calling TMZ now?

by Anonymousreply 11January 29, 2020 7:03 PM

Not to worry. Prince Andrew is on hand to take up half the work and support the teenage girl portion of the Commonwealth.

by Anonymousreply 12January 29, 2020 7:18 PM

Charles would be stupid to not throw some work at the York girls, they’re more than willing and they know the expectations with the role.

by Anonymousreply 13January 29, 2020 7:20 PM

Harry & Meghan are morphing into Edward & Wallis, they will become trinkets for social climbers. They will expect everyone to kiss their asses, demand free meals in restaurants, free clothes, etc. Wallis stuck with Edward, Meghan will drop Harry when interest in them fades, she'll find some rich fool, Harry will go crawling back to Daddy.

by Anonymousreply 14January 29, 2020 7:34 PM

Get fucked, R14.

You don't know shit.

Racist cunt.

by Anonymousreply 15January 29, 2020 7:39 PM

MM is biding her time before she ditches the balding ginger. She's so NOT wild about Harry!

So what does this soon-to-be-middle-aged woman have? A kid they gave a dopey Commoner name to (will the next son be Jughead?); no HRH; no more Buckingham balconies or Sandringham soirees; no "playdates" for Archie with his royal cousins; no admiration or adoration from the masses; no hope of future awards from her prior career; no nothing of the royal social circles. IOW, zero cachet.

Meghan Markle is no Humanitarian Diana; there are no anti-landmines walks or visits to AIDS patients in her plans. My bet is she will try to out-GOOP Gwyneth, out-Instagram Kim, and out-media Oprah. All on hapless Harry's farthing.

by Anonymousreply 16January 29, 2020 7:40 PM

I don't think Meghan will ever leave Harry. She's more famous on his arm then she'll ever be after dropping the Windsor attachment from her surname.

by Anonymousreply 17January 29, 2020 7:42 PM

[quote] MM is biding her time before she ditches the balding ginger

Bald-ING is still better than fucking BALD, like William the Dull.

Yet Kate of Anorexia still sticks with him, despite the fact that he fucks all of her friends behind her back.

by Anonymousreply 18January 29, 2020 7:42 PM

[quote]Meghan will drop Harry when interest in them fades, she'll find some rich fool,

She's 38 right now. Why would a rich fool settle for her when younger and more attractive is available and a dime a dozen?

Now, what I can see happening is that she finally just gets sick of the whole thing and mistakenly believes that if she divorces him, the spotlight will go away. While it might fade a touch, as it did for Fergie, it would never go away completely.

by Anonymousreply 19January 29, 2020 7:42 PM

Meghan is nothing without Harry, and she knows it. She's not leaving him any time soon.

by Anonymousreply 20January 29, 2020 7:43 PM

If Kate can stick by William, who has cheated on her MULTIPLE times, then Meghan can surely stick by Harry, who has NEVER cheated on her.

Motherfucking racists.

by Anonymousreply 21January 29, 2020 7:44 PM

Bitch has been declawed and defanged and nowhere to go but down down down. LOL

Go scrub my toilet, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 22January 29, 2020 7:45 PM

She is LOVELY, and I would fuck Henry so fast he wouldn't have time to remove his ex royal pants. He is 🔥 🔥 🔥

by Anonymousreply 23January 29, 2020 7:48 PM

The Queen drew a hard line in the sand = give it up or lose your $$$.

by Anonymousreply 24January 29, 2020 7:56 PM

Dumb & Dumber. Whose idea was this exactly?

If grannny owns alll of the marbles you can’t expect to stomp out and end up with half of them.

We need Ricky Gervais to do a monologue on this.

by Anonymousreply 25January 29, 2020 8:04 PM

So essentially, r18 and r21, what you are saying about Catherine is that she is the tolerant future Queen Consort that Charles sought in Diana. Well, she wasn't Waity Katy for a decade to complain now, I guess.

The reason Harry (probably) won't cheat, as opposed to his brother and his other male relatives, is that not only is Harry smitten, even entranced; but also Meghan fulfills many if not most of his psychological needs. I don't think Kate does that for William. Harry is wounded; William is rage-filled (always, always with clenched jaws).

by Anonymousreply 26January 29, 2020 8:09 PM

R18, Wallis was forty & looked it when she snagged an ex-king, Leona Helmsley was not a young woman & looked like a drag queen doing an impression of Maleficent when conned a rich old fool into married her. Meghan is prettier than the pair I just mentioned, she'll move on to greener pastures $$$.

R20, go fuck yourself. Harry is white & Meghan is, to use an old-fashioned term, "light, bright & damned near white". This bizarre notion that celebs of color can't be criticized & must be treated as deities is insane.

This is what happens when you let Doria Ragland be your advisor. What the hell did they think would happen listening to a 60+ southern Cal woman with a sketchy work history as a yoga instructor and social worker? If they really thought they were going to cherry pick their perks, they're even dumber than I thought. Serving as Commonwealth ambassadors would have been a sweet high-profile global gig. They fly all over the world on the UK taxpayers' dime, get mega coverage and do their business deals on the side - or out in the open as at the Lion King premier. I'm glad that was shut down. Delusional losers.

by Anonymousreply 28January 29, 2020 8:11 PM

I suspect the Queen's just getting started. As they say, revenge is a dish best served cold.

by Anonymousreply 29January 29, 2020 8:15 PM

"into marrying her", not married.

by Anonymousreply 30January 29, 2020 8:16 PM

I doubt that Doria is advising. More like that Jessica woman.

by Anonymousreply 31January 29, 2020 8:21 PM

It is so shocking! I thought when we said we would do no more work for then royal family that we could keep all the perks and titles!

I am not okay with this! And no one has asked me if I am!

by Anonymousreply 32January 29, 2020 8:22 PM

Who's Jessica ???

by Anonymousreply 33January 29, 2020 8:23 PM

[quote] Who's Jessica ???

Jessica Mulroney, daughter of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

She's supposedly one of Meghan's best friends, and her twin boys were in Harry and Meghan's wedding ceremony, holding her train.

by Anonymousreply 34January 29, 2020 8:28 PM

Mulroney or whatever. Her Canadian friend.

R15 is the "I'm the only black man on the DL and I want white fags to get their throats cut" troll.

Well, it's not really a troll. It's more of a psych. ward case that gets access to the internet when the floor nurse goes to the restroom.

Pathetic. R14 said nothing racist, was not a cunt, and does not need to be told to "get fucked" by a sick racist homophobe.

Meaning the excremental R15.

by Anonymousreply 38January 29, 2020 8:31 PM

[quote] R15 is the "I'm the only black man on the DL and I want white fags to get their throats cut" troll.

I'm white, you stupid cunt.

And yes, white people can be defenders against hateful, racist bigots, such as yourself.

Speaking of "playing the victim," read what you posted at R38, and then decide WHO is indeed playing the victim. Fucking moron.

by Anonymousreply 39January 29, 2020 8:33 PM

According to "leaks" from friends, Doria indeed has been advising the couple - and Harry leans on her soooo much for support. Eye roll.

by Anonymousreply 40January 29, 2020 8:36 PM

He lived a life of complete privilege and wealth when young with that privilege and wealth contingent upon, as an adult, moving into a role of service to the nation that helped provide him that life. When it comes time to start paying up, he says, "I'm outta here!"

He's a spoiled brat.

by Anonymousreply 41January 29, 2020 8:36 PM

"MM is biding her time before she ditches the balding ginger. She's so NOT wild about Harry! "

Without him or an upgrade husband, she's nothing but a Real Housewife. And she won't be able to get an upgrade husband, not fortyish and with a kid and an international bad reputation.

by Anonymousreply 42January 29, 2020 10:16 PM

They really overplayed their hand, didn't they?

by Anonymousreply 45January 29, 2020 11:32 PM

I have to ask. Is Meghan okay ? Is she Okay ??

by Anonymousreply 46January 29, 2020 11:43 PM

It really is surprising to see them playing their hand so very badly, R45. I mean, if they'd made "... and WE will never take another dime from taxpayers" one of their core messages, they could have subtly shaded the BRF and won universal sympathy.

But no! They've made it clear that they feel entitled to security at the taxpayer's expense, and they're too stupid and spoiled to understand why people have a problem with that. Which is undoubtedly how all rich people feel, but it's the sort of thing a good publicist is paid to keep quiet, but that hasn't been done. WTF kind of shitty advisors do they have?

by Anonymousreply 47January 29, 2020 11:51 PM

Like Henry was ever so adroit. Am I really the only one who remembers the nazi ' costume '?

by Anonymousreply 48January 30, 2020 12:00 AM

R29 = the Doria sketchy background troll

by Anonymousreply 51January 30, 2020 2:01 AM

Oh dear r26, is back filled with lies as usual. Harry was the known cheat. William was slandered by Meghan supporters we go through this with you on EVERY thread. Its obvious to even those close to him that Harry has been angry and depressed since meeting that creature from the gutter. We know you envy William and Catherine's obvious strong relationship and happy family. Meghan will be divorced and forgotten. No rich man wants a woman with her looks, age, and embarrassing history on the world stage.

by Anonymousreply 52January 30, 2020 3:15 AM

Tell that to Jeff Bezos, R52.

by Anonymousreply 53January 30, 2020 3:29 PM

by Anonymousreply 54January 30, 2020 3:42 PM

A month ago I had the hots for Harry, too!

Now, I'm over him. Acting like a spoiled pussy-whipped brat idiot is such a boner-killer.

by Anonymousreply 56January 30, 2020 5:42 PM

I find Henry even drool-worthier since the Megxit. You DO know that he think either the paps, or his dad killed his mother right ? And that no one blinked. No law was passed. No serious inquiry was led. What about the ' My husband is planning my death in a car crash' letter ? He's killing two birds with one mixed raced stone AND making his brother look completely stupid. If anyone is manipulated here, it's poor blaxinderella. I would rim his revengeful Ginger ass until he cried with Joy, and then blow his royal pole like no one ever has, anywhere, anytime. Everyday.

by Anonymousreply 57January 30, 2020 8:37 PM

He could probably really use it, R57. I suspect he ain't getting much these days. He's wound far too tight.

by Anonymousreply 58January 30, 2020 9:18 PM

Give him my chaturbate R58

Eww. Dim bulb looks like sour tshirts and stinky shoes.

by Anonymousreply 60January 30, 2020 10:48 PM

I like a man's smell R60. Henry is HAWT and I wouldn't mind sniffing his sour T-shirts and stinky shoes. Ginger smell so nice. They smell like Xmas. + he needs comforting and consoling. And since when great intellect = good sex ? No man ever put his hand down another man's zipper to look for a library card..

by Anonymousreply 61January 30, 2020 11:31 PM

So what titles do they have left at this point? Just Duke and Duchess of Sussex, right?

by Anonymousreply 62January 30, 2020 11:42 PM

No they have tons of other stupid titles, he's still a prince, Earl, etc so she's Princess Henry, to start with, and the rest to boot

by Anonymousreply 63January 30, 2020 11:48 PM

They're also the Dumbartons. Really, really fitting. Betty knows how to throw shade.

by Anonymousreply 64January 30, 2020 11:58 PM

R62. For now, they will simply be known as Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They still have HRH, but they will not be using HRH starting in the spring. (They are technically HRH at the moment because not using HRH begins in the spring--it didn't take effect when they got on the plane to Canada.) However, effectively they will not be royal any longer in everyday use. For the time being, the queen did not strip them of HRH just in case they were to come back to the royal fold since this "stepping back" plan will be reviewed in a year. On the other hand in a year, it could be decided that they "step back" permanently in which case the HRH could be stripped at that time.

Those other titles: Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel are peerage titles and simply what they are known as in Scotland and Northern Ireland, respectivley. The Duke and Duchess of Susses title simply applies to England.

by Anonymousreply 65January 31, 2020 12:05 AM

Without HRH, they are now known as Harry, Duke of Susses and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

by Anonymousreply 66January 31, 2020 12:08 AM

As if ' duke and duchess of Sussex ' was not enough. The French must have a field day. It litterally means ' suckdick' in French. Bess is really a bitch. Plus I am always baffled at the critics of Henry' s intellect. How, by which divine intercession, would the child of CHARLES & DIANA be the brightest bulb in the lustrums ?? He's doing well, considering. He could be locked in the basement since birth, like his great great uncle.

by Anonymousreply 67January 31, 2020 12:13 AM

Does this mean that if Canadians are in the same store, or something, they must automatically defer to this couple insisting that they be served first?

by Anonymousreply 68January 31, 2020 12:26 AM

You mean if they wait in line at Tesco ?

by Anonymousreply 69January 31, 2020 12:51 AM

They have lost all patronages that the Queen bestowed on them, including the two Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors jobs.

You can't quit a firm and then expect to keep a couple of plum positions within it, which is all that the Queen made clear.

That's why the retention of the Sussex ducal title was dodgy: the Queen bestowed that on them, too, on their wedding day, as a gift recognising that they would be working full-time for the monarchy. Otherwise, they would have been plain old (and confusing to Americans) Prince and Princess Henry of Wales. Still HRHs, still royal, but, like Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, mostly private citizens.

But Meghan wanted the limelight, otherwise, there went her A-list celebrity global platform. So they assured the Queen they wanted to work for the Firm, and so got the ducal title.

In fairness, the Queen should have rescinded, along with the patronages that she bestowed on them, and the grace and favour residence, and the Commonwealth Youth Ambassador posts, their ducal title, as well.

Everything that was handed to them as full-time employees of the firm should have been taken back.

Their half-in, half-out plan was ridiculous. The Queen knew that the optics would scream "have their cake and eat it too".

They put out there what they wanted, and got most of it chopped off, retaining a few important nuggets: they're still HRHs even if not using it; they're still the Duke and Duchess of Sussex so they can merch (and besmirch) the name; Charles will float them for another year or two, and probably pay off the taxpayer bill for the Frogmore Cottage renovations.

Unknown whether they have retained Frogmore Cottage as a home base for free as well.

by Anonymousreply 70January 31, 2020 2:06 AM

It's very well known that Frogmore cottage will remain their UK residence . It was a personal gift from Queenie, and no one cares for the dump. There is a plane flying over ot every 10 minutes, it's tiny and in the middle of nowhere. They will have to maintain it.

by Anonymousreply 71January 31, 2020 2:15 AM

Bezos girlfriend must have some kind of hold because most people leave the wife for younger, not rode hard and put up wet.

by Anonymousreply 72January 31, 2020 9:02 AM

R64, Dumbarton is a shithole on the outskirts of Glasgow. I used to work there, and the people are amazingly insular and resentful of “the outside”. If children are born with extra fingers, the parents are delighted because it will be able to do fancy tricks on the banjo.

by Anonymousreply 73January 31, 2020 9:20 AM

Imagine a real state ambassador or diplomat quitting his job because "it wasn’t working for him" and then wanting to retain his job titles and keep doing representative work on his own terms and continue to be styled his excellency the ambassador?

Don’t they realize doing royal stuff is a constitutional job, with clear job specifications and rules and, gasp, service on behalf of the state?

by Anonymousreply 74January 31, 2020 9:21 AM

Royals really should have mandatory diplomat education and training.. but they’re usually not intelligent enough for that kind of job.

This monarchy thing is really retarded... what a stroke of luck for them that William seems to be smart enough for his job.

by Anonymousreply 75January 31, 2020 9:24 AM

^I would think they'd prefer a sleek, modern London flat instead of that old heap.

by Anonymousreply 76January 31, 2020 9:57 AM

Supposedly, Frogmore Cottage was extensively remodeled, and carefully sound-proofed against the Heathrow noise. It's not that small when you consider it had been subdivided into several apartments and offices, but has been restored to a single-family home. Besides, I like frogs (and tunnels). I'd be happy to live there.

by Anonymousreply 77January 31, 2020 10:04 AM

If ever there was a time to finally do the paternity test on Harry, this is it. Declare him not of the royal blood and toss him out.

by Anonymousreply 78January 31, 2020 10:07 AM

[quote] what a stroke of luck for them that William seems to be smart enough for his job.

What an extraordinary declaration ?!? What ever, in the documented life of this inbread fuggo, this retarded cretin/untitled asshole who's not even clever enough to not brag publicly about banging his stupid wife's best friend while she's pregnant with their 15th child, makes you think that he's ' clever'? That statement really puzzles and confuses me. What about Camila ? Is she a genius in your mind ?

by Anonymousreply 79January 31, 2020 11:22 AM

We've told you over and over again r79 to stop spreading those lies Meghan made up dear. Are you dense? Its just getting embarrassing now.

by Anonymousreply 80January 31, 2020 11:59 AM

Once the reality of his meagre life sets in, Harry will be a maudlin deadweight. Meghan is used to hustling, but Harry was born with a silver spoon up his ass, everybody attending to his every whim. She'll dump him, and then go on to star in an Oprah produced reality series about her life as a single mum, trying to juggle work, wellness and wokeness.

by Anonymousreply 81January 31, 2020 12:25 PM

[quote] Meghan and Harry "Shocked" to Find Out the Queen Stripped Them of Commonwealth Titles

Reading this, I just can't help laughing thinking of Megsy's ridiculously long and downright pretentious wannabe Queen of Commonwealth veil with the symbolic flowers of all Commonwealth countries embroidered on it.

by Anonymousreply 82January 31, 2020 12:44 PM

They liked that commonwealth stuff because it was international, global, on brand for cosmopolitan citizens of the world such as themselves.

by Anonymousreply 83January 31, 2020 12:48 PM

Right-o, r83. But HM played a longer game than MM could dream of on that day.

by Anonymousreply 84January 31, 2020 1:58 PM

R83-exactly. Meghan probably thought they'd keep that plum role and fly around the globe on Commonwealth business as ambassadors on the taxpayer's dime. They'd get free press and worldwide exposure while simultaneously being able to hustle for their brand - just like at the Lion King premier. (Andrew was pretty much doing the same thing for years.) The beauty was it would have required very little effort on their part and would have provided a free global platform. She had to be ready to spit knives when she found out Liz wasn't going to let it happen.

by Anonymousreply 85January 31, 2020 3:37 PM

Just as predicted, the "I wish they would get banished to Africa and kicked out of the family by the Queen!" bitches are now the "They're quitters and cowards" bitches.

You wanted them gone. They're gone. Go flick your postmenopausal clits about it for a while and then move on with your lives, Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 86January 31, 2020 5:06 PM

Henry will ALWAYS be a royal Prince. Son of a King, brother of a King, uncle of a king. He will always be HRH. Even the daughter of Ernst August Von Hanover and Caroline de Monaco is HRH. He can't use his title as an official title, he is not in service anymore. But I bet the staff, the servants, the assistants won't call them ' Henry ' and ' Meg's'. It will be your royal Highness this, and your ladyship that, and would your ladyship try the jade egg ? It's very exclusive and I can' t recommand it enough... Etc etc.

I sincerely doubt they will be calling them anything of the sort. And nobody pays attention to "royals" from countries who no longer have a monarchy. Harry in a few years will be so far down the pecking order that it won't matter anymore.

by Anonymousreply 97January 31, 2020 9:19 PM

I live in LA and work in the arts. I was musing to myself the other day, what if Harry and Meghan moved to LA and somehow I got to meet them at an event. Hey, you never know. Would I really have to address Meghan Markle as ma’am or your highness or what? It would feel so weird.

by Anonymousreply 98January 31, 2020 9:46 PM

[quote]As if middle age Meghan could be a youth Ambassador....really?

That one had me scratching my head too. You have to be under 30 to be a "youth" anything.

by Anonymousreply 99January 31, 2020 10:43 PM

"Would I really have to address Meghan Markle as ma’am or your highness or what?"

If you meet them, I DARE YOU to ask Meg "... and who are you?"!

by Anonymousreply 100January 31, 2020 11:02 PM

Get your curtsy together gurl.

by Anonymousreply 101January 31, 2020 11:40 PM

Hah! Nertz to curtsies.

by Anonymousreply 102February 1, 2020 12:06 AM

r98 you curtsy/bow to them and you lose you Gaycard for life.

Go on, do it. You will inevitably be photographed doing so. You think that will advance you? See how you are held up as a voluntary lowcaste.

by Anonymousreply 103February 1, 2020 4:40 AM

R98, If you're an American in America, I don't think bows or curtsies are appropriate. Even in the UK, Americans aren't expected to do either, although many Americans do anyway. I admitted on some other thread, that if I were presented to The Queen, I would almost certainly bow, but that's out of genuine respect. After the Sussexes' shameful behavior at the Lion King premiere, I'd have a difficult time mustering up any respect for them.

by Anonymousreply 104February 1, 2020 5:09 AM

I would NE-VAH bow or curtsy. But you just know some Hollywood dopes will.

I was just wondering how an American should address them. Especially our Meg, who to me is so much an LA chick. Ms. Markle is about as formal as I feel like getting with her. Titles are so ridiculous, really - you don’t want to think too hard about them, or all magic goes away.

by Anonymousreply 105February 1, 2020 5:14 AM

R39 has issues. And no concept of how she is identical to other well-known DL loons, and no clue that such lunacy receives the treatment she receives.

Racist? Honey, I'm biracial with the kink to show it.

And the loon goes "Fucking racist cunt! I'm white! Fucking racist cunt! I'm white!"

Brittle little birdy.

by Anonymousreply 106February 1, 2020 7:21 AM

If I ever saw them, I would yell "Charlatan!" at her like that one lady did in I think it was NY. Or acknowledge Harry and then turn my back to her ignoring her completely. Or ask her about her dad lol.

by Anonymousreply 107February 1, 2020 7:27 AM

If I met her, I'd say "Hi! You're Rachel, right? Rachel Dolezal? Great to meet you!" And keep going. Imagine the look on her smug face!

by Anonymousreply 108February 1, 2020 10:26 AM

If I met her, I'd say "Hi! You're Rachel, right? Rachel Dolezal? Great to meet you!" And keep going. Imagine the look on her smug face!

by Anonymousreply 109February 1, 2020 10:26 AM

R105 Reese Witherspoon curtsied to Kate Middleton at a BAFTA tea party.

Tennessee trash.

by Anonymousreply 110February 1, 2020 11:17 AM

^^ Only after Kate looked Reese Witherspoon directly in the eye and said, "Do you know who I am?"

by Anonymousreply 111February 1, 2020 12:26 PM

What r86 said. Markle's haters gonna hate.

The Duchess of Sussex is in descent, but man, her climb was fun and captivating to watch.

And bigots, I don't give a fuck how much you deny it, but an astronaut currently in orbit can see that your cheese is off the cracker because her mother is African-American. I'll go even further. I believe that behind the scenes, in private moments among the BRF, I bet Markle had to put up with SHADE that would dim a fluorescent light.

Does anybody doubt that? "Doors to manual" ring a bell? And that was aimed at white, wealthy, tall, thin, pretty Kate from William's friends, and yes, probably from members of his immediate and extended family, albeit from them in more subtle ways.

Now, for their ridicule and shade, add in a half African American divorced "C" List actor? The hair on my neck rises thinking about what subtle, and yet, oh so unmistakable bigoted shade Markle had to endure.

And before anybody's knickers explode, I don't mean from QE II, Charles, Camilla. I do know women, however. I have no trouble believing that those Middleton women and the Royal Princesses Mister Ed and his other sister Mister Ed, aka, Beatrice and Eugenie, know how to Mean Girl.

Now, that said, the Duchess of Sussex has massively, breathtaking misplayed her hand of cards she so successfully reached for and obtained. She has made MAJOR mistakes that she can't blame on anybody else. She owns them. And that's even more true of the Duke of Sussex.

Her initial mistake is in misjudging the job she thought she was taking on. No, Duchess, the BRF doesn't conform to you; you conform to the BRF.

And now, they're out. As another Dler put it so succinctly and aptly, QE II, has given them Enough Rope.

And whoever up-thread, by inference, compared Markle to Lauren Sanchez, partner to Jeff Bezos, please.

Sanchez, in the Annals of Gold-Diggers Extraordinaire, already has had her brassiere retired. It's hanging in their Hall of Fame now. And I write that with all sincere respect and admiration.

Markle isn't even close to her league, no other woman is. Not even Wendi Deng or Jerry Hall.

The Duchess of Sussex better do some hard thinking about her lot. Her husband always will be, as someone upthread put it, the grandson of a Queen, the son of a King, the brother of a King and an uncle of a King. If she thinks she's gonna trade-up to a billionaire, she better think again. And those "A" List Show Folk friends? They may hang around after you dump Harry, but then again...

by Anonymousreply 112February 1, 2020 12:31 PM

If you curtsy, that means you think that they are of a higher birth than you are. Could you respect yourself afterwards?

by Anonymousreply 113February 1, 2020 12:50 PM

No, its showing respect to their office.

by Anonymousreply 114February 1, 2020 1:01 PM

Della, the York girls are known for being nice. Not Means Girls at all.

by Anonymousreply 115February 1, 2020 1:07 PM

Harry should watch The Crown so he knows how this stuff works.

by Anonymousreply 116February 1, 2020 1:11 PM

R114 - They have no "office". They no longer in any way shape or form represent the British monarchy. Nor are they using their HRHs. Would you curtsy to the Duke of Norfolk? No. Then why curtsy to the Duke of Sussex.

They are private citizens out to make a financial killing in North America. The Queen gets a curtsy if you're into that sort of thing: she holds an "office". Charles is the Prince of Wales and the next monarch: he gets a curtsy. The Cambridges are in line after that: they get curtsies.

Would you curtsy to Princess Michael of Kent? I doubt it. Meghan Markle is now on the same rung as Princess Michael of Kent (who IS using her HRH these days, but holds no office).

Get real - these two are now "pretend royals" on the outs with Harry's entire family and making a buck of who they once were, not who they are now.

by Anonymousreply 117February 1, 2020 1:31 PM

Come on, Della. After seeing those obviously staged photos of her and Archie walking in the woods, I think there is something so seriously wrong with her that precludes her from having a functioning relationship of any sort. There is something "off" there, something worse than just poor judgment. She doesn't have peers or friends. The only people allowed in her sphere are minions.

Had she followed the BRF's instructions, she would be in good stead right now. They did amazing things for Harry's reputation. Case in point, this ill-considered lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday. They told her it was foolhardy but did she listen? No. Same with just about every other choice she made. Her hubris and her short-sightedness is her downfall. She didn't misplay her hand. She didn't misjudge her role. I don't even think she's in this for the money. She just desperately wants to be famous and be "above" everyone else. She is a damaged train wreck of a person. She deserves derision and for the vast majority of it she receives is not based in racism.

by Anonymousreply 118February 1, 2020 1:40 PM

[quote]Her initial mistake is in misjudging the job she thought she was taking on. No, Duchess, the BRF doesn't conform to you; you conform to the BRF.

Megs didn't misjudge the job. The job was never part of her plan, which was to merch the name/status of the BRF into her billion dollar empire. That was obvious when she applied to trademark SussexRoyal exactly a year after she married. All of the "being driven out" and feeling "unaccepted" and "this isn't working for me" was a ruse and a crock to deflect away from her scam.

by Anonymousreply 119February 1, 2020 1:48 PM

I would curtsy to Henry, I would drop on my knees so fast he wouldn't have time to realize that I unzipped his fly a taken his royal pole down my commoner's throat faster than I could say ' sir'.

by Anonymousreply 120February 1, 2020 2:03 PM

R118 - Must agree with your post. There is something far more wrong with both of them than I think was apparent even to those of us snickering early on at what we recognized was a manipulative grifter making bank on a rich dimwitted spoilt twat.

Huge changes in circumstances sometimes rip open an emotional can of worms that a familiar life used to keep reasonably tightly closed.

I think that is what happened here. Meghan's fantasies of adored celebrity and global stardom, Harry's of a glamourous wife who would make the drudgery of royalty fun and him feel as important as his brother . . . when these hit the wall of reality, all their hidden resentments, anger, narcissism, and immaturity were let out.

Those "pap" photos of Meghan with the baby shoved to one side so the cameras could get a full view of her smiling face and false eyelashes an inch long (these appear to be her new go-to makeup accessories, they were evident at the Canada House visit, along with her sweat-stained armpits, and she wasn't fresh off the plane, they'd arrived the day before) were downright alarming.

The bad grooming on both their parts, her hair left to turn into a barely combed forest, the refusal to obey the Queen's order not to release the statement until all the details were ironed out . . . I don't know, they seem to be in self-destruct mode.

That statement was announced early because it contained their laundry list of what they wanted from the Queen, and they assumed if they made it public, the Queen wouldn't dare not give them what they wanted.

This action, which infuriated the Queen and Charles (who holds the purse strings, remember) was foolhardy, and had Meghan's fantasist (If we do this, they'll do that!) propensity to take actions based on faulty assumptions written all over it.

In the event, they were denied the half in-half out job, they only held onto to their titles and HRH styles by a hair, someone has to repay the taxpayers for the FrogCott renovations, they couldn't hold onto their patronages or Commonwealth Youth Ambassadorships, and they probably can't stay at Frogmore for free any longer.

Despite the Queen's efforts to combine these measures with assurances that the two remain "much loved members" of her family, it's quite clear that Meghan, especially, is not, and the phraseology is a code to let Harry know that the door is still open to him and his children.

And then, Meghan adds insult to injury, despite needing Charles' money to keep living the life she wants to keep living, by posting photo ops of herself on days when Charles and the Cambridges are out on high-profile public events.

It's as if Meghan never heard the phrase, "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar."

Her paranoiac spite takes over, and she keeps taking short meaningless jabs at people whose money she needs, and who can take her titles away at the stroke of a pen.

You have to have major psychological issues to keep doing that.

by Anonymousreply 121February 1, 2020 2:11 PM

It's funny someone said call her Rachel Dolezal.

Her first name is Rachel. Meg is the middle name.

by Anonymousreply 122February 1, 2020 2:22 PM

R6 what's not to like? Juicy uncut ginger cock is the best!

by Anonymousreply 123February 1, 2020 2:30 PM

Be honest, if the two of them were super nice when you met them, even in a phony celebrity way, wouldn’t you instantly become a fan? I’m shallow and admit I would melt.

by Anonymousreply 124February 1, 2020 2:44 PM

R112 Della, Kate was bullied in school to the point that she had to transfer to another one. Everyone who knows her and Pippa said that it is Pippa who is the more outgoing one, the queen bee type.

When a person in her position behaves poorly towards staff, shit will get out because however lowly you think they are, they will spill the beans on Bean. Stories about her rude behavior from their tour in Australia at that time came out seemingly out of nowhere. Then afterwards their handler quit and received high praise for how she managed the couple. Now finally people are finding out why.

Her Mother Doria Ragland is actually very likeable. Its megahn and her father who are very trashy.

by Anonymousreply 126February 1, 2020 5:01 PM

"Now, that said, the Duchess of Sussex has massively, breathtaking misplayed her hand of cards she so successfully reached for and obtained. "

It really is amazing how badly those two have handled their break away from the BRF. If they'd just made a few simple changes, like making "Well WE will never take another dime from the taxpayers!" one of their core messages, then they'd have gained genuine sympathy and subtly embarrassed the royal family while doing so!

Instead, they've managed to make themselves look like two spoiled, immature, entitled, low-IQ, complete twats suffering from folie a deux. It's been a breathtakingly entertaining spectacle, watching these two fearlessly do all the things that any decent publicist would give them roofies to keep them from doing where the public can see, what a pity the entertainment value isn't going to last. By next year they'll be a pathetic spectacle.

by Anonymousreply 127February 1, 2020 5:30 PM

R113 it’s embarrassing. Reese Witherspoon is an American, as she informed that police officer, and curtsying to a foreign Royal by birth is a disgrace.

She wouldn’t bow to a Saudi.

by Anonymousreply 128February 1, 2020 5:45 PM

Folie a deux. That’s it exactly, R127.

by Anonymousreply 129February 1, 2020 5:47 PM

[quote] Would you curtsy to the Duke of Norfolk? No.

I would curtsy to bad filmmaker and Norfolk resident the Marquess of Cholmondeley and his fabulous wife Rose Hanbury.

by Anonymousreply 130February 1, 2020 5:47 PM

Oh.

Ok, r115. I'll take your word for it. Serious.

Anyway, r118, I haven't seen the pix your talking about. I won't rule it out of hand that she incites the pix one way or another.

by Anonymousreply 131February 1, 2020 11:32 PM

R130 Nicole Cliffe is that you dear? I thought your nose was surgically removed from my ass..

by Anonymousreply 132February 1, 2020 11:45 PM

The queen didn't "gift" Frogmore Cottage to them. It's Crown property. That was the rationale for taking 2.4 million in taxpayers cash to renovate it. I've read they were given an 18 year lease which is much shorter than the lease the queen has given her offspring on their residences on Crown property, even though presumably Harry and Meghan will outlive them.

How Harry, with his flat hair, bad hygiene and bad teeth can be considererd hot is beyond me, even before we take into account that he has no lips and his eyes meet in the middle of his forehead.

by Anonymousreply 133February 2, 2020 2:29 AM

Both the York girls and Middleton sisters have reputations for bein decent people. Markle on the other hand...

by Anonymousreply 134February 2, 2020 2:57 AM

Being, ugh.

by Anonymousreply 135February 2, 2020 3:08 AM

Yes, I still can't believe Jessica Mulroney posted "Pretty pictures are pretty pictures."

by Anonymousreply 136February 2, 2020 3:13 AM

I'm still shocked that they want this kind of information made public. It doesn't endear them to anyone.

I suppose they had envisioned with their half in and half out solution that the pressure would be off them to scramble to be self-supporting since they'd spend so much time working on behalf of the BRF. Now they have 24/7 to figure out how they get up to speed quickly (appearing on a reality show as a guest is not an auspicious start).

by Anonymousreply 137February 2, 2020 3:41 AM

R137, I think that’s hilarious “I Do, Redo” with Jessica Mulroney.

I *almost* feel sorry for her.

by Anonymousreply 138February 2, 2020 3:51 AM

Time to call the lawyers, Meghan and Harry! Page Six (and Broadwayworld) reported that MM would make multiple guest appearances on Mulroney’s reality show. But other sources deny it.

Someone’s spreading lies about Meghan again!

by Anonymousreply 139February 2, 2020 4:06 AM

If appearing on a reality show I never heard of is the best offer she's received, then I was absolutely correct about their business prospects!

You can't monetize worldwide contempt.
