My old boss made Swarovski crystal embedded shirts for him when he started the “Gay Pimp” routine 18 years ago, nice guy. He’s worked hard to get where he is but was a Chelsea character in a crowd of them back then. I worked in the area and Jai Rodriguez was another, he’d get me a bagel. Key from Peele and Key as well.
New to the city, I worked 7 days a week in a shop on 8th av and met a lot of self made people like Johnny, it was a pre smartphone full of opportunity for scrappy youngsters that really doesn’t exist anymore.
