Along with Multiple Maniacs, one of John Waters' first films...
Hard to believe I've lived long enough to see Divine and Edith Massey on Turner Classic Movies.

Thanks for the head's up OP. I share your thrill R1, imagine how John must feel. I'm tempted to run to the corner and buy me a pair of cha cha heels size 13 just for fun.
I predict my humorless husband will be spending this evening alone with his head phones on while I get stoned and shriek with laughter. But first I'm going to need a disco nap. .

I never thought their life's work would be under the same corporate umbrella as Bugs Bunny.

I love TCM's poker-faced synopsis of MULTIPLE MANIACS:
[quote]Three determined women, Divine, Cookie and Mink Stole, set out to solve the Sharon Tate murders.
It makes it sound like Nancy Drew.

Is this the film in which a hen is fucked to death?
And where's Desperate Living?

That was [italic]Pink Flamingos[/italic].

Do you ;think we'll live to see they day where Pink Flamingos is on TCM?

R6, for its time, Bugs Bunny was every bit as subversive as Divine & Co. were for theirs.

Why don't they show these in the afternoon when I'm awake?

Why can't you DVR them?

I don't have a DVR R13.

IMHO "Female Trouble" is a frighteningly prescient film, which foresaw the era of Anything For Attention, of reality TV and regular schmucks dying for Instagram selfies.
Waters' best film, although of course "Hairspray" is the most fun.

R15 Who would ever think a John Waters' film could be described as "prescient"? lol Good point.

They're both streamable on the TCM app.
