Are you jealous, bitches??

What kind of bread? Any fixings? What tuna? What mayo?

by Anonymousreply 1December 27, 2019 2:38 AM

Gross. Fishy glop on toast? Not jealous.

by Anonymousreply 2December 27, 2019 2:38 AM

Poor

by Anonymousreply 3December 27, 2019 2:39 AM

How exotic!

by Anonymousreply 4December 27, 2019 2:40 AM

I had one for the first time in over three years, and it was delicious! I've cut back on fish due to several reasons, but mercury in tuna, and microplastics in general are two big reasons. Just don't make a habit of it OP.

by Anonymousreply 5December 27, 2019 2:43 AM

R1 Rye bread! Avocado, celery, onion, Hellman's mayo, lemon juice, salt n pepper

by Anonymousreply 6December 27, 2019 2:43 AM

Actually I am jealous because I love canned tuna and I have gout and tuna is a no-no.

When I was a kid my favorite was tuna with only mayo on white toast with orange marmalade spread on the toast. Weird, I know but to me delicious.

by Anonymousreply 7December 27, 2019 2:45 AM

tuna causes gout?

by Anonymousreply 8December 27, 2019 2:47 AM

Tuna causes poor.

by Anonymousreply 9December 27, 2019 2:49 AM

Italian tinned tuna is not cheap.

by Anonymousreply 10December 27, 2019 2:51 AM

^ nor is Russian pussy. But it’s still “cheap”

by Anonymousreply 11December 27, 2019 2:52 AM

That actually doesn't look half-bad.

by Anonymousreply 12December 27, 2019 2:57 AM

[quote]Tuna causes poor.

More like the other way around

by Anonymousreply 13December 27, 2019 3:00 AM

No pickles, OP?

by Anonymousreply 14December 27, 2019 3:01 AM

This particular canned tuna is really good and I like it much more than others - including the other Ortiz ones.

by Anonymousreply 15December 27, 2019 3:04 AM

R14 No but that sounds good! Don't have any around.

by Anonymousreply 16December 27, 2019 3:04 AM

Yummy! Food-bank tuna!

by Anonymousreply 17December 27, 2019 3:05 AM

My dad still loves an occasional canned sardine sandwich!

by Anonymousreply 18December 27, 2019 3:26 AM

Tuna? Yuck.

by Anonymousreply 19December 27, 2019 5:17 PM

I thot I smelt fish

by Anonymousreply 20December 27, 2019 5:25 PM

I love a good tuna sandwich....good for you OP. Any, it ain't just for the poor haters!!!

by Anonymousreply 21December 27, 2019 5:27 PM

I am not poor but am cheap and eat tuna salad.

by Anonymousreply 22December 27, 2019 5:30 PM

I hate celery, so use scallion (green onion) instead.

by Anonymousreply 23December 27, 2019 5:32 PM

I love a tuna sandwich but for the past few years they give me terrible indigestion. I usually use canned tuna in water, but have been meaning to try the kind in a pouch to see if makes any difference. Has anyone else experienced heartburn from tuna?

by Anonymousreply 24December 27, 2019 5:36 PM

I like mine just like this. I use Hellman's mayo, finely chopped onion and celery.

by Anonymousreply 25December 27, 2019 5:38 PM

I miss tuna salad. I gave it up when I gave up mayonnaise and Miracle Whip.

by Anonymousreply 26December 27, 2019 5:39 PM

R25 I'm all down with onion, celery, and Dill relish, but totally turned off by the chopped olives, ranch dressing, mustard, and egg. I've never heard of any "real" Deli adding some of those things. (and I'm Jewish, and quite frequently ate in Delicatessens coming up) I'll add mayo, fresh or dried Thyme, a bit of Old Bay, and black pepper, in addition to the aforementioned.

Another interesting recipe I've tried, was a neighbour's: Turner's Tuna Salad...Lemon juice, sour cream, capers, shallots, and Lawry's Seasoned salt. Peas optional, if served in lettuce cups/leaves.

by Anonymousreply 27December 27, 2019 5:59 PM

Yeah, I totally agree with you about all that other shit after the dill relish, I didn't read the recipe. But I do like mine on toast with lettuce and tomato. Once every few years I do enjoy it with Miracle Whip. R26 Do you ever make exceptions to the rule?

by Anonymousreply 28December 27, 2019 6:04 PM

Your life is depressing op.

by Anonymousreply 29December 27, 2019 6:06 PM

I am jealous. There's a place near me that makes the best chipotle tuna melt. It's full of butter and fat, so I get it about once a year, but I love it.

And I did grow up poor and was raised on tuna fish. So the poor comments are accurate.

by Anonymousreply 30December 27, 2019 6:06 PM

I've never had a tuna melt in my life.

Countless tuna salad sandwiches, but no melts.

by Anonymousreply 31December 27, 2019 6:14 PM

You are missing out! But I have a pension for hot sandwiches. So it might just be me.

by Anonymousreply 32December 27, 2019 6:17 PM

I believe the word you want here is "penchant". ^^

by Anonymousreply 33December 27, 2019 6:19 PM

R28 Not unlike you, I always put lettuce and sliced tomato down first. I prefer toast, and usually put a schmeer of mayo on each slice of toast. If I don't do white bread, I'll toast an onion bagel. Sometimes I'll even throw on a large slice of Bermuda onion too, depending on my mood, and whether or not any snogging is going down later.

by Anonymousreply 34December 27, 2019 6:22 PM

Ooooh I bet it would be so good on an onion bagel. My absolute favorite bread for tuna is the bakery french sour dough from Publix when I lived in Florida.

by Anonymousreply 35December 27, 2019 6:24 PM

R33, lol. Yes. Sorry. I am very tired. But a pension would also help my bank account. So I will take both words for 200 hundred!

by Anonymousreply 36December 27, 2019 6:46 PM

[quote]For example, a child who weighs less than 60 pounds should not eat more than two ounces of canned albacore (white) tuna per week.

So 300-lb OP can gobble up around 10 ounces of canned white tuna every week then. Has dementia set in yet, OP?

I recall Julia Child questioning the tuna in water craze - she thought that tuna packed in broth was much more tasty. It's close to impossible to find the broth packed tuna in my neck of the woods.

by Anonymousreply 38December 27, 2019 8:36 PM

Pray tell, OP, what did you do with the can?

by Anonymousreply 39December 27, 2019 8:46 PM

I don’t eat tuna.

by Anonymousreply 40December 27, 2019 9:52 PM

Tuna mayonnaise and cucumber on soft white bread or a decent baguette is one of the best sandwich fillings of all time.

Is canned tuna seen as poor people's food in the US then?

by Anonymousreply 41December 27, 2019 10:02 PM

Fresh dill sounds like it could be a good addition.

by Anonymousreply 42December 28, 2019 12:59 AM

Tuna sandwiches are fine, but nothing can compare to tuna noodle casserole, food of the gods.

by Anonymousreply 43December 28, 2019 1:01 AM

Multi grain bread, toasted, some tuna packed in oil, and some Frank's Red Hot sauce and I'm good. Lettuce & tomato if I have some on hand.

by Anonymousreply 44December 28, 2019 1:36 AM

I am craving one now.

by Anonymousreply 45December 31, 2019 7:20 PM

add celery seed

by Anonymousreply 46December 31, 2019 7:22 PM

"Are you jealous, bitches??"

I'm either plotzing or I have gas.

Whichever one you prefer.

by Anonymousreply 47December 31, 2019 7:41 PM

[quote][R1] Rye bread! Avocado, celery, onion, Hellman's mayo, lemon juice, salt n pepper

Sounds tasty.

I also like to add sweet pickle relish, India relish, or Jalapeno relish depending on my mood.

by Anonymousreply 48December 31, 2019 7:43 PM

I eat tuna steak, not tuna fish. Tuna fish is glorified cat food. And onions in it? Disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 49December 31, 2019 7:46 PM

it's the closest I'll come to eating pussy and i love it! no onions. just celery. i like a lil crunch in my box lunch.

by Anonymousreply 50January 5, 2020 11:43 PM

I will be more jealous if it's a tuna melt with crispy garlic fries.

by Anonymousreply 51January 5, 2020 11:45 PM

Tuna is the only decent sandwich at Subway.

by Anonymousreply 52January 5, 2020 11:55 PM

“Tuna fish,” OP? As opposed to, say tuna dog? Tuna ham?

by Anonymousreply 53January 6, 2020 12:09 AM

Here's a new plant-based tuna made from legumes, without the worries of mercury, microplastics or overfishing. It's pretty good, actually. I prefer the plain one in water, rather than the flavored ones.

R53

Yes, tuna fish as an expression may seem redundant, but many folks do say that.

by Anonymousreply 55January 6, 2020 12:23 AM

Including me, r55.

Just pointless bitchery for funnin ya.
