When Pete finally gets elected, what song will he and Chasten dance to at the Inauguration?
Who will lead?
Will they dance at all?
Or will they do something silly like The Crocodile Rock, leading into a group routine with friends, like at a wedding?

There are now five active threads on DL bashing Pete Buttigieg. Judge him by his enemies.

How is this an anti-Pete thread?

I got you babe?

I think this is a fascinating question. They’re sort of damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I suspect they won’t dance together (at least not as part of a “ big moment”), but will perform some other kind of gesture to emphasize their status as a married couple and honor their partnership. Maybe Chasten would have some kind of formal role in the festivities that would preclude a dance.

He would be immediately impeached r6!
Or im-🍑’d

And what would that gesture possibly be r7?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 28, 2019 7:27 PM |
Servicing the guests, r9.

No idea. I’m not that familiar with what is normally done. But something with pageantry. Like having them enter through two rows of service people holding swords crossed above them? I’ve seen that in movies and cartoon. No idea what it’s supposed to symbolize, but it’s good theater. Something that would emphasize Pete’s military background. - R7

Leather pants, harnesses, two hits of E and this.

They will do like the Trumps and dance for all of 15 second before being joined by service members. By that point people would have gotten over Pete and Chasten as a couple so they might as well own it. It won’t be a Obama/Michelle moment.
I feel like a coward because I’m not sure I could do it. Then again, I haven’t met the love of my life. It might change if I found Mr. Right.

As a special treat, Chasten will perform a medley from "Hamilton" before they do the first dance to "The Schuyler Sisters."

I like how this thread died because many don’t want to acknowledge the glaring headwinds that Pete will face due to his sexuality. Even a simple thing like a dance with a spouse will be a polarizing event. Best of luck to these two. I hope America is ready because this is not the election to play games with our Independent swing voters.

"We're In The Money" seems perfect for Wall Street Pete.

Can't win without Black Churches.

Fish don't fry in the kitchen; Beans don't burn on the grill, R17.

They really like each other. The same vibes we got from the Obamas. Very reassuring.

Who will lead?
