I hate watched Hallmark's Christmas at the Plaza. The Oak Room and Bar are empty rental spaces now. The floor in the bar is scuffed up and all the oak looks thirsty and sad. There are hideous pleather banquettes pushed up against the walls. Sad! The Plaza is owned by Qatar.
What are some other tarnished jewels on their last legs in our great cities?

The Walnut Room on the top of Macys (nee Marshall Field) in downtown Chicago is running on fumes (except at Christmas, when it's a tradition). But the food is lackluster and the place is empty most of the time.
