If you paid close attention there was no new news covered on her Christmas Eve show, it was all covering things that happened earlier which told me that the show was prerecorded. I never cared for Stephanie Ruhle. My grudge against Yasmin Vassoughian is her delivery/tone/energy. It’s probably nothing she can help, but I just always feel like she is pissed off and ready to snap at any minute. Am I the only one that often gets annoyed with MSNBC's horrible sound? So often it sounds like they have an extra mic in some distant office that has nothing to do with what you are seeing on air. You can clearly hear people talking and laughing. I also hate when the interview people in the rotunda of congress or the senate.....there is always clanging like a stack of metal folding chairs are being tossed to the floor. Also I find it annoying when they have a correspondent at a political rally the are talking to the studio while the politician is on stage and people in the crowd keep turning at looking at the reporter. I have no idea if Davis is currently considered a "public ivy" as R105's post suggests (I haven't looked up stats), but back in my day, (UCD class of '86), a baseline GPA and SAT score guaranteed admission to any UC school. It wasn't really that stringent. I think 1100 was the combined math and verbal SAT requirement. Can't remember GPA requirement (I was a solid A- student from a good private school). We did not need to write an essay and extracurriculars weren't even a consideration. Guilfoyle is five years younger and back then she could have used minority status to boost entry potential (her mother was Puerto Rican) before Prop 209 barred it.

Now entry into any UC school is an entirely different matter and far, far more competitive.
