Angelica Ross is really good on AHS: 1984

She is also the first transwoman actor I've seen where I regularly forget that's she not a cis woman.

There's no such thing as a "cis woman." Stop.

I see I've summoned the Thought Police.

The only "thought policeman" is you, OP/R2. "Cis" implies that the vast majority of women-- and men, for that matter-- agree to, and even enjoy, the stereotypes that are heaped upon them because of their genital configuration. They do not.

I’m assuming that the twist of her being trans is the highlight of the finale? Why else would they have been holding off on the reveal for so long?

by Anonymousreply 4November 8, 2019 1:22 AM

Is passing as cis, "goals". Because ironic, for a POC. I mean, really!

Pot, meet the c-slur kettle.

Exactly who do you suppose started the regulating and policing of language.

by Anonymousreply 6November 8, 2019 1:55 AM

I agree with you that I forget she is trans.

I disagree that she is really good actor. That's an exaggeration, she is perfectly adequate.

by Anonymousreply 7November 8, 2019 2:04 AM

What! I had no idea she was trans- I thought she was a cis woman. I knew I hadn’t seen her in anything and she was a good actress. That’s very cool that I had no clue

by Anonymousreply 8November 8, 2019 2:10 AM

She's no Candis Cayne.

by Anonymousreply 9November 8, 2019 2:50 AM

Fuck off with that "cis" bullshit

by Anonymousreply 10November 8, 2019 2:53 AM

What the hell is a cis ???

by Anonymousreply 11November 8, 2019 2:59 AM

She's the best thing about AHS 1984 and was the best thing about Pose.

by Anonymousreply 12November 8, 2019 3:02 AM

Her line readings on 1984 are frequently stilted and amateurish, particularly when she tries to emote.

I am Cis--call me Cissy!

So is the whole point of this season to make her the final girl, only to reveal in the end that’s she’s really a man subverting the whole genre? That seems like s cheap trick, but at the same time right up Murphy alley.

by Anonymousreply 15November 10, 2019 8:26 PM

I was wondering if she was trans. She's not bad...wait, is it okay to refer to them as a she? In my opinion, the best trans actor out there is Alexandra Billings.

I thought at first that Adina Porter had significantly changed her looks and had gotten much better as an actress when this season started. Angelica Ross is really good.

by Anonymousreply 17November 10, 2019 8:54 PM

You couldn’t tell that was a dude?
