I'm not sure what r22 is quoting, but Evans was not head of Paramount. He was production chief. Frank Yablans was president.

His brother was the co-founder of fashion label Evan-Picone. Birth name was Robert Shapera.

As to his character, this about sums it up.........one of his closest friends back in the day was roman polanski.

One of the most interesting things about his documentary was how they used "L'amour est bleu" to substitute for the "Love Story" theme in scenes about that movie—I suppose they couldn't get the rights to use the latter. Somehow it worked: same era, same general wistfully sappy tone. There was always that intriguing sense, however, that it wasn't quite the same, like Fake Jan or the later Gladys Kravitz.
