She was a great beauty. I was at a large event and saw her walking my way but I didn't recognize her. All I saw was a beautiful woman coming towards me, petite, with gorgeous skin and hair and arresting features. My friend whispered, "that's Barbra Streisand" and although I didn't try to react, my expression must have changed because she walked away.

I'm one of the Olds here and I honestly can't remember. I thought she was beautiful for a woman. I loved her face in her technicolor movies. Once the drab 70's hit, not so much.

I was a child at her peak and I remember adults feeling sorry for her over her honker but admitting it probably helped her voice, so she was stuck.

Barbra Streisand is one of the last great stars who emerged at the end of the old star system and embodied what many of the greatest talents in the history of film and music had, which was intense charisma and star voltage. I’ve spent hours talking to him about her. The thrift shop and antique clothes were all her as was the irreverent kook on NYC talk shows.
