It's weird how bad her filmography is. She's 33, has been acting since she was a kid, was genuinely VERY famous (and still is a 'name'), but her career highlights are Jennifer's Body, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a few episodes of New Girl (for which she was hired last minute to fill in while Zooey Deschanel was unavailable)? That's pretty bad.

Don't get me wrong, i'm aware she's no Glenn/Meryl/Isabelle Huppert. And I know she's considered a sex symbol rather than a serious actress. But historically even most sex symbols have one or two genuinely good roles on their resume, or can parlay their sex symbolism into better film roles. She can't even get parts playing normal human beings in routine dramas and comedies.

I looked her up and aside from all the trashy blockbusters like Transformers and Ninja, she's barely done anything aside from a tiny role in This is 40 (okay, respectable), and a tiny role in Jennifer Westfeldt's 'Friends with Kids' (both basically playing the hot temptation for a guy having a midlife crisis).

Maybe she just doesn't want to work as much since she had kids, or had a 'difficult to work with' label on her in Hollywood.

R18 That's because she can't act for shit. I worked with her on the set of the Ninja Turtles and watching her do take after take of scenes drove the entire crew and the director crazy. She's dry, doesn't emote and is incredibly robotic in her delivery. She might possibly be one of the worst actresses I've ever seen. I'm glad she's transitioning away from it to reality TV because acting will never be her thing.

R19 I know she's not a great actress (and I said that in the post), but that's beside the point. Plenty of crap actresses who have nothing to offer but their looks still have managed to do better roles and projects than she has. And most of them haven't made all those blockbusters (which = foreign $$ and make you more castable).

I find her to be a terrible actress myself, but she's still recognisable enough that you'd think she could get a supporting role on a cable series or in some Netflix drama, have an indie film funded because of her name value (that might showcase her 'talent' since she seems concerned about that), etc.

So i'm wondering if there's a reason behind the scenes that her CV is so empty, if it's by choice or something.

R22, I liked her on SNL as well and wasn't expecting to. She seems very likable and down to earth in OP's video.

Jennifer's Body killed her and Diablo Cody's careers - the film was ridiculously hyped prior to its release (Fox was coming fresh off the Transformers success and Cody had just won an Oscar) but when it was released people quickly realized that Fox can't act at all or carry a movie and that Cody is a shitty writer. It was a total flop.

I saw at the Jennifers Body screening with her and the director last week at the Egyptian. She was very well spoken, a little out there, but I came away liking her. She was pretty devastated by the way the studio just wanted to sell the film on her boobs and that's all. I liked this discussion that she and Cody did. The movie isn't a masterpiece, but it's fun.

Jennifer's Body didn't ruin Diablo's career. She went on to write Young Adult (2011) and Tully (2018). Both films were very well received.

I really loved her in Jennifer's Body which was probably her best movie, so I'd say she's only as good as her material. Some actors can overcome bad writing, but some can't. I thought she acquitted herself rather well in that film and came across as having some flair for comedy.

How and Cody were treated after this film was pathetic. I thought it was a decent movie. Not always totally successful at what it was setting out to do, but more fun that most movies around that time.

I do feel kind of bad for her R46, but she seems like someone who wants it both ways. She got the cosmentic surgery and transformed herself into a sexy bombshell just to turn around and complain that people didn't take her seriously. She should have invested more time in honing her acting skills instead of remaking her face.

I remember before she got Transformers she was a constant in Maxim and other Men’s magazines, and I mean she was constantly on or in these magazines doing semi nude (but hands covering boobs and frontal) spreads or highly sexual spreads. Megan was was not only selling sex, she was branding HERSELF as the next bombshell.

She was obsessed with Angelina and wanted to be her so badly, she even got a tattoo on the back of her right shoulder just like Angie. I also remember she took herself soooooo seriously regarding her sex appeal and beauty it was cringeworthy. I know she’s singing a different tune now, making it seem like she’s doesn’t take herself that seriously at all but back in the day she did in regards her looks and even her shitty acting. In fact, there’s even a scene in T2 where Shia is in his dorm room and his walls aee covered in pinup posters of Megan, they’re actual photos from shoots she did for a Men’s magazines irl. In the movie the image of Megan is slightly blurred so you can’t see in detail it’s Megan but you can totally tell it’s her.

There were also stories coming from crew that worked on movies she made that painted her a poor light. Basically saying, she was an awful actor who took herself too seriously.

In regards to BAG, she pursued him when she was eighteen and he rebuffed her. She told this story on Ellen and it came across like she was humble-bragging; like she wanted the audience to be shocked someone as hot as her doesn’t have every man eating out of her palm. And yes they were going to divorce because BAG is a deadbeat who hadn’t worked during that time. So Megan was over keeping a man.
