Starring in “The Politician” as River, he’s now apparently cast in Murphy’s planned Netflix series about Golden Age Hollywood (aptly named “Hollywood”). He’s cute as a button and almost looks like a twunk version of Henry Cavill. I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table for future Ryan Murphy productions, hopefully he’ll be as ready and willing to do nude scenes as Evan Peters was.

I’m watching The Politician pilot right now, and no, there’s no way a guy that looks like that would date someone as average looking as Platt.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 27, 2019 10:31 PM |
Here’s his almost-ass in Affairs Of State (2018).

[Quote]Wasted on Murphy’s dreck
This no name guy doesn't have anyone else giving him jobs. The Murphy stable of actors are thankful he keeps them employed, the life of an actor is perpetual unemployment.

Cavill-esque.

It’s like Bomer and Cavill had an amazing night of bareback sex and he was what resulted from the beauty.

It only took five replies for someone to needlessly shit on Ben Platt. I can guarantee that Tony Winner Platt is infinitely more fuckable than R5.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 30, 2019 10:07 PM |
Is it shitting on someone to say they're average looking?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 30, 2019 10:08 PM |
R14 you can guarantee nothing. You know nothing about R5 you are just one of those shitty insulting miserable old cunts who troll the net.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 30, 2019 10:15 PM |
R16 They’re not a troll, they’re just a fangirl that has a boner for fugly, nepotism driven Platt. Let them say what they want, their fawning over him won’t get him any roles.

If you want more David content, he has some sketch "comedy" thing him and a friend did.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 1, 2019 2:27 PM |
Flame away but I really liked The Politician, mostly because of Platt. The satiric script was very good. I even tolerated GOOP, who looks awful in this but played her part well. Corenswet was good but just didn't fit with Platt.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 1, 2019 3:26 PM |
Ben is doing this whole bear thing at the moment. Regardless of what he's like in the rest of his life. And if he's stress-eating, all the better.

I really don't think Platt is surprised that people are fawning over his gorgeous co-star r25. It's entirely predictable.

by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 3, 2019 7:23 AM |
Corenswet is beautiful in The Politician. I doubt that Ben Platt — a talented actor and a great singer — thinks he looks as good as David.
Don’t know why the ignorant have to trash Platt when they drool over someone else.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 3, 2019 7:42 AM |
Platt is the one getting flirty comments and drool emojis from David so really he's the one winning here...
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 3, 2019 1:09 PM |
I see a bit of Cavill mixed with a bit of Hayden Christensen. He also sort of has Christensen's way of speaking.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 3, 2019 1:17 PM |
This look reminds me of Tom Welling's early Smallville days. I wouldn't mind David as Superman with Robert Pattinson's Batman. Pattinson would definitely play it as homoerotic as possible.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 3, 2019 1:28 PM |
He is not only cute, but he is also a very good actor. He is one of few characters on The Politician who is believable.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 3, 2019 2:28 PM |
I know, R37, you actually believed he was into that dumpling.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 3, 2019 2:29 PM |
The shows portrays River as so Zen. The most level-headed person in the show. That suicide made no sense.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 3, 2019 3:24 PM |
His character is cartoony as well, he claims to feel everything (like he feels how other people are feeling) pretty odd, and yeah he looks like a mix of hayden and cavill.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 3, 2019 3:31 PM |
I dunno, R39... when I think of the people I know who have committed suicide, I've never thought they'd be the ones who would do it.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 3, 2019 3:34 PM |
R39 People on the brink of suicide are often calm and cold. They’re usually not erratic and freaking out, typically they lead on as if nothing’s wrong, go about their day and act as zen as possible. Then, next thing you know, BOOM.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 3, 2019 3:39 PM |
R42 is correct. People in planned suicides are really relaxed. The time leading up to the decision of taking their own life is panic inducing but once they have decided they are going to end it,they become incredibly calm and collected. A neighbour committed suicide last month, she was like that. Some of the patients of my professors too.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 3, 2019 4:08 PM |
I bet ol' Ben's sphincter blossomed like a cabbage rose in his scenes with David.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 3, 2019 5:15 PM |
The twins are GORGEOUS too but David more so. Twins are presented as peak masculinity in the show. David on the other hand as this sweet, gentle, gorgeous guy! Do they even exist?!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 4, 2019 3:44 PM |
He has tiny nipples. Who cares!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 4, 2019 3:45 PM |

Nothing about them interests me.

"Starring in" is a stretch considering he was killed off in the first episode. I don't support bury your gays which is why I boycotted it.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 4, 2019 4:19 PM |
"Starring in" often just means you appear in the show. Doesnt mean you are the lead.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 4, 2019 4:22 PM |
His suicide made no sensr, especially since he told the entire school about it, the entire show is a mess but the never gave Ben's character another male live interest which annoyed me but they did make sure he be in a het relationship for the rest of the show. Fucking murphy.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 4, 2019 8:26 PM |
He was telling the school about a previous attempt. That was a flashback.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 4, 2019 8:31 PM |
*Sigh* Is today International Spoiler Day or something? First some cheeky-monkey spoiled the just-released "Joker" on the other thread and now R51... Is it that hard to type a quick note "Spoiler alert" in the beginning of a spoiler?

R58 And is that a problem? The world could use more Jamie Dornans.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 5, 2019 8:49 PM |
R60 That is perhaps one of the best pictures of Ben I’ve seen.

Dim lighting hides a multitude of sins.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 13, 2019 2:32 PM |
It’s the dim lighting and the beard. Beards usually work on fugly guys because they distract from how fucked up their faces look.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 13, 2019 3:22 PM |
I think ben is a cutie, but his brother got the best looks. Must suck that your straight bro got the looks and you didn't.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 13, 2019 3:46 PM |
And yet Ben has a Tony and the brother was, what, the twelve hundreth Fiyero?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 13, 2019 3:53 PM |
R65 That’s true. I wonder why Jonah isn’t doing as well as Ben? Is he not as much of a kiss ass for Daddy?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 13, 2019 3:56 PM |
I don't know, there's something about Ben I find fuckable.
Hate me if you must.

by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 13, 2019 4:22 PM |
If they ever do a JFK Jr. movie, Corenswet would be fantastic casting. I thought while watching the Politician that he had the same vibe, which is why Murphy cast him as the charismatic but doomed River.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 13, 2019 4:41 PM |
Ryan Murphy loves big emotional moments in his series, but he rarely follows up properly. If a much-beloved campus leader admitted in front of the whole school that he tried to kill himself, there would have been a lot of fallout. At the very least, there should have been a scene between River and his parents where they discuss it. I know in the Heaven dream sequence he says he had a lot of counseling and meds that didn't work, but we never got to see any of that. It is interesting that he mentions EMDR therapy, which is used to help people get over traumatic events. It suggests that River wasn't naturally fucked up but that something happened to him (I would guess some kind of abuse), but again, we never get any follow up.
Ryan Murphy's series feel hollow because he never fully develops his characters or their backstories.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 13, 2019 4:46 PM |
I'm also pretty sick of all the characters in his shows be cartoons instead of acting like regular people, satire is all he knows and not even good satire.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 13, 2019 4:52 PM |
R73, That is pretty much the problem with all of his shows. But he still gets paid!
by Anonymous | reply 76 | October 13, 2019 11:45 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 78 | October 15, 2019 8:24 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 80 | October 15, 2019 8:40 PM |
R57, I’m not reading a thread about a “show I haven’t seen” - I’m reading a thread about a specific ACTOR in general. You’re the “idiot” if you can’t tell the difference. The OP’s thread is NOT about “The Politician” and its plot details & stupid spoilers (who no one even asked for), but about the new Hollywood hunk “David Corenswet”. What, whenever a new DL thread about a handsome new actor pops up, you expect everyone to watch that actor’s whole recent filmography before clicking on the thread and discussing the actor’s hotness?
By your logic, why don’t you go spoil his next project “Hollywood” for everyone too? His character dies by falling off a Zeppelin and drowning in Fred Astaire’s infinity champagne pool in the 3rd episode, right? I guess everyone deserves that spoiler simply for clicking on a thread called “David Corenswet” 🙄
