I walked by a vegan restaurant in Phoenix last night, since the heat had subsided most of the patrons were eating outside. They all looked like extras from The Walking Dead but with nice clothes.

On the one hand, he is s strange looking dude. Alien, anorexic, emaciated, sleep deprived, crack head: All adjectives used to describe him. Uploads video after video of awful singer songwriter stuff. No talent. No life, apparently. A 50 year old loser by every measure.

On the other hand, according to a life extentionist who met him, he is impressive looking IRL and posts weird selfies to be an asshole. Apparently, he is a head turner at 5'10" black hair and ghost pale skin. In one of the more extreme longevity forums, they treat him like he is supernaturally youthful for his age.

As someone familiar with Paul for quite some time, I take the middle road. As opposed to Matthew Lake who interviewed him in late 2018 (which Paul keeps as his external IG link to this day) and gave a more favorable assessment. Yes, he is not GQ material. Yes, he could afford to pack on some muscle mass and looks malnourished, aspires to a lot of creative things but doesn't appear to have much talent at anything. But, if you scope out and really think about it, what man has skin and hair like that at 50 who has had no work done? I can't think of anyone. People often end up comparing him to much younger people and judging on that. His youthful appearance really makes you forget he is 50 years of age and what a typical 50 year old looks like. That is an inadvertent compliment.

R35, same here. My sister is two years younger and bakes all summer long and her skin is starting to wrinkle and coarsen. I’ve smoked on and off for 30 years, and not very heavily. Just anecdotal, of course. My fabulous MIL tanned herself and smoked and drank like a fish for decades and really enjoyed her life before dropping dead, quite literally of a heart attack. She didn’t give a shit about wrinkles. I think she did it just right. Can I say again that she really enjoyed her life?

I’ve been mostly vegetarian since my early 20s and had years in between being a vegan. I’ve never looked better than when I was a strict vegan eating whole plant foods. Now though I find that I function better, with my gym and activities routine, on a vegetarian diet that also includes (about 3-4 times a month) bivalves. Bivalves don’t have central nervous system and there are actually some vegans who do eat bivalves such as oysters, mussels, clams, and scallops. Sometimes I’ll eat eggs if I can get them from some people I know who raise chickens for eggs. I know a guy who lives on some acreages with his family and they sell eggs from hens they keep. Eating ethically as much as I can and also consider health needs, those things are important to me now as I turn 40 next year.

Anyways this guy is 65-66 years old, he lives in Austin and has been a raw vegan for about 30 years. He looks great and functional fitness level he is fantastic. Unfortunately he espouses some fucking crazy ideas in his videos, from anti-vaccines to doubts about holocaust.

As someone who studies nutrition as a serious hobby and who only studies it through actual scientific studies as opposed to loony “experts” and blogs/ bloggers, I think it’s obvious that these strict raw vegans and meat-heavy or keto dieters have more in common than they like to admit. Both ends of spectrum like to stretch the truths about their respective diets and make proclamations of how eating that way will do x,y, and z and cure diseases etc...

Fact: No one in the immortal community has met him in person. They have almost all met each other. I know cause a few weeks ago I caught the forum name in the interview post and joined the ImmInst under a fake name and asked around.

Fact: In the few photos where he looks half decent, his skin looks OK but doesn't have the porcelain sheen like in most of the others.

Doesn't that seem strange? Like it's never the full package. Shots look as amateur as can be but there could be more faking on the skin than we think, since we drop our guard due to the unprofessional nature of the pics and think they can't be overdone on the filters and photoshopping.

Having spent the past 6 months cyber lurking this guy, I have come away with some interesting observations. I was barely interested early on, but the eccentricity of this 51 year old man began to intrigue me. By the way, I feel I deserve some form of sociology college credit here. Discerning what can be gleaned and surmised from social media alone, forming impressions, hypotheses and more, is not as easy as it seems. Gleaning out information from 100s of erratic videos and semicoherent verbal postings takes time, energy and guesswork.

I used IG for the most part, but also found his Facebook profile and visited the Soundcloud and YouTube pages. There is little variation across these platforms. He posts the same stuff on all of them, sometimes varying the comments and subject line a little bit, but that's all. The most relevant conclusion about Paul in the context of this thread is that he is either extremely delusional or far more attractive in real life than can be assessed from poorly taken photos. I wouldn't go so far as to say he is narcissistic, but in all the video footage and photos I have seen, many of which he is interacting with very attractive individuals, there is no indication whatsoever of the kind of insecurity and self esteem issues typical of those who have been treated as below average in attractiveness throughout their lives. The kind of self esteem issues I know I have and am very up front about.

If he is very unattractive in real life, it would be an unprecedented case of denial and delusion. Considering that all the selfies are poorly rendered at unflattering angles, having never met him personally, I am concluding that Paul Roe is very attractive in real life, with dark hair and pale skin forming a striking impression, especially upon those meeting him for the first time. It is also noteworthy that he runs with a pretty attractive crowd. I have identified roughly 3 close friends, 2 female and 1 male, and several less close friends, and they do not appear dysfunctional or marginalized in any way. None take especially good photos of themselves, but all 3 do a much better job than Paul at it.

It is also worth noting that it seems recreational drinking and drug use do not play any part in this narrow circle of friends. It seems that walking through parks, listening to music and looking at clouds is the pastime in their neck of the woods. In my opinion, this reflects some element of deliberate regression to the 60s or an earlier era, sans the mind altering aspect of that era. Dissatisfaction with the modern age, perhaps. An interesting sociological aside, but of little bearing on this thread, as Paul does not immerse in period attire and settings in the kind of way that suggests he believes he, himself, would be more desirable in another era, which would raise a red flag on self esteem and fitting in. It seems on the face of it that they just plain and simple enjoy these pastimes.
