Blake Lively. Sarah McLachlan. Mentioned above Tiffany Haddish, Rachel McAdams, Aaron Neville, Robert DeNiro. I like them, but I can't look at them on a big screen.

With directors, producers, agents and PR staff asking celebrities to lose weight or to behave or look differently, doesn't someone suggest that to stars that they see a dermatologist?

I had moles on my neck. When I got my first job after college, I started going to a dermatologist regularly to have them removed.

I had one burned off. No scar. I'm really surprised people, especially actors, who have facial moles don't get them removed. They're distracting and unsightly. And it puts a tremendous amount of strain on their conversation partner to not stare at it.

by Anonymousreply 43September 22, 2019 4:18 PM

R37 Funny, you ask. I have a mole right on the right side of my nose. It's bugged me all my life. For years I forgot about it, but recently it's gotten my attention again. It doesn't seem big enough that it should be removed . Also, I'm afraid if it leaves a scar, the scar would be worse. But because of it, I've always immediately noticed celebs who have prominent moles. So I was curious about DLers points of view, and how nasty the comments would be. So far, they haven't been as bad as I had expected.

Maybe I'm looking for consolation?

I developed one Next to my eye, in the corner, near the bridge of my nose as a kid. I had it removed in my teens. Took two seconds. I have a little scar that is flesh colored and you can’t notice it unless you’re looking really up close.

by Anonymousreply 53September 22, 2019 10:09 PM

R44 I had a cute little flat dot right on the tip of my nose for years. Then it blew up into a horrid bump. Finally got it planed off a few years ago. A tiny mark, not really noticeable and way better than a hideous bump. I'm all pretty again. On the paperwork, the dermatologist described it as a "pox." Upon me!

Blake Lively is not attractive at all....I do not get the hype about her “beauty”.

by Anonymousreply 57September 22, 2019 10:18 PM

In my opinion when the mole is raised, weirdly shaped, multicolored, or prominent on a face / neck they are distracting and unsightly. There are some performers I can no longer look at on screen because my eyes are immediately drawn to something prominent.

I've had a total of four removed from my face and neck. There are no scars. They can be burned off, frozen off with nitrogen, lasered off, sliced off. After two or three days there are no scabs. But for some of these performers listed above, I wonder if they're too lazy or they enjoy making people uncomfortable / distracted. Maybe some just don't care what they look like.

Keri Russell has a mole right on the edge of her upper lip - am guessing that she couldn’t have it easily removed because it’s quite distracting. Usually she covers it up with makeup.

Ones that are near the mouth - Goldie Hawn, Cindy Crawford - or on the cheek side - Elizabeth Taylor, Louis Garrel - don’t bother me the way ones near the eyes do - Tiffany Haddish, Christian Bale - as audiences look primarily at the eyes, a mole near there can be VERY distracting.
