Is the Winter Garden Theater the most glamorous Broadway theater in NY?

The name "Wint-ah Gaw-den Theat-ah" is so posh.

Not during the Cats run, it was a junkyard!

Bet you do a great "Bri-dish" accent, OP

Nope. The Winter Garden may sound posh, but the interior of the Mark Hellinger is to die for!!

Oops. Mark Hellinger article properly done.

There are so many theaters across the country that are much more glamorous and posh than anything in New York. And, unlike Broadway, they actually have comfortable seats.

I always thought this, too, because they always put on the big shows like Mame and Follies. I've been to NYC a few times, but never had the opportunity to see a show in there. All the shows I've seen have been elsewhere.

I like to see shows in Broadway theaters vs. the venues they play in "on the road." Most theaters in large cities where Broadway shows are performed are WAY too large. Examples: the Ahmanson and the Pantages in LA.

Another nice theater interior is the New Amsterdam. Bravo, Disney!

You have no right to call it The Mark Hellinger Theater. It's The Times Square Church. You can thank The Netherlanders for that.
