According to the bio of Geffen some years ago, Bob Brassel was the love of his life. Bob indeed was a chiseled brunet hunk- very bright too. Alas he had serious substance abuse problems and David did a lot to try to help him- good jobs, rehab etc. Bob would have been about 15, maybe 20 years younger than David- I think that’s about as close to an equal as it got for David- no one could match his wealth.

Yeah I knew Bob- love of Bobs life was my best friend (pre Gergen). Geffen wasn’t into me- rather he chased me around a bit at parties etc. He was reasonably polite but ultimately obnoxious because he kept at it. Pushy. He went after another friend of mine (who I was having a thing with) at the Saint one night- a real hot guy- George. Well ole George who had a Southern old boy temper clocked him!
