Emma Stone IS Cruella!
[quote]Stone appeared via video message to debut the first look of the titular character in Disney’s “Cruella” at D23 on Saturday, also revealing that it will take place in the punk rock era of the 1970s. In the first photo, Stone is sporting Cruella’s famous two-toned hairstyle, and it seems like dalmatians are part of her squad before they started turning into her coats.
Hits theaters May 28, 2021.

It’s a great look. More youthful and less campy than Glenn’s.

I like it! Very Siouxsie/Blitz Kids.

At first glance she reminded me of Dr. Frank N Furter.

Oh dear God, this will be even worse than the godawful "Maleficent"!
But in a camp way. Maybe I'll see it.

Can't have Cruella without camp. Hope they lean into that.

Disney is really doubling down on exploiting their IP instead of creating new things, I wouldn't be surprised if next we get a movie about Mrs. Pott's and Chip's lives before they were turned into a teapot and teacup.

How about Song of the South?

Disney needs to let Criterion release Song of the South. I know they've got an iron fist on their IP and would never do it, but keeping it hidden is such a stupid decision. Their young audience isn't going to be affected by its release. They should let film historians and genuine Disney lovers have the film on Blu-ray.

I'm surprised they haven't just remade it, cutting out the parts that are considered "racist." Universal released a Brer Rabbit film straight to video in 2006, with an allstar black voice cast, and it didn't seem to cause any offence. Disney would be smart to follow suit.

Gaga would've been perfect in this role.

Given it's being directed by the guy who did I, Tonya, I suspect it'll attempt to mix camp with pathos.

She looks like Helena Bonham-Carter....who'd have had more fun with the role..

R15 Helena would've been great.

Is this revisionist like Wicked, will it be cleaning up the image of Cruella?

Her oscar win was a total joke.

She seems like she’ll be better and more fun in this than Hathaway was in The Witches.
