Yeardley Smith

Why isn't she the hugest super mega star of the universe? When did her career go down the crapper? What about her scandalous love life that included such partners as Warren Beatty, Linda Evangelista, and Dennis Rodman? And that was just one Tuesday afternoon.

Why doesn't Datalounge fall down on their knees and worship her?

Huh?

Huh?

I don’t know who she is, sorry!

by Anonymousreply 1August 11, 2019 4:54 AM

Warren Beatty needs to release his memoirs and nudie pictures from the 1960s

by Anonymousreply 2August 11, 2019 4:56 AM

She kind of looks like Robyn.

by Anonymousreply 3August 11, 2019 4:57 AM

You just know the Hammaconda was all over her when she was on Mad Men.

by Anonymousreply 4August 11, 2019 4:58 AM

I don't know her.

Who's going to brag about banging the voice of Lisa Simpson.

by Anonymousreply 6August 11, 2019 5:04 AM

Oh, OP, you're just like Chilly: The Elf Who Could Not Love.

by Anonymousreply 7August 11, 2019 5:05 AM

R1 Yeardley Smith, better known as Lisa Simpson.

by Anonymousreply 8August 11, 2019 5:06 AM

Tina Yothers had the same unspoiled beauty - - .

Nobody cares about an old women with beady little eyes.

by Anonymousreply 10August 11, 2019 5:08 AM

She was great as Bonita Rokiki on "Mama's Family".

The episode aired in December 1986.

I blame the cast of Herman's Head!

by Anonymousreply 12August 11, 2019 5:18 AM

She could play Joseph Gordon Levitt's mother.

As for when her career went down the crapper, I'd say it was some time after her salary for the Simpson's jumped from $30K per episode (roughly the first 10 years x 23 episodes per season = 230 episodes * 30K = $6.9 million) to $125K per episode, but definitely by 2004 when it jumped to $250K per episode where it remained until 2008 when it jumped to $400K per episode.

Unfortunately, they've had to take a cut in 2015 to onoy $300K per episode, and to add insult to injury, they cut the number of episodes per season to 22.

She knew her limitations and once she lucked into the lisa Simpson gig she didn't press her luck and was fine to cash all those checks and stay out of the limelight.

by Anonymousreply 14August 11, 2019 6:20 AM

Can’t she afford a face transplant by now?

by Anonymousreply 15August 11, 2019 7:17 AM

R11 she was denied the Golden Globe and the Oscar for this masterpiece!

I'm 100% convinced the sound of a screaming Yeardley Smith could be use a terror device.

I loved her in The Legend of Billie Jean.

by Anonymousreply 17August 11, 2019 7:47 AM

When you get on a gravy train like "The Simpsons," you really don't have to do much more.

by Anonymousreply 18August 11, 2019 7:50 AM

Don’t the Scientologists keep her busy enough?

by Anonymousreply 19August 11, 2019 7:55 AM

^^^ No, that's Nancy Cartwright, dimwit.

by Anonymousreply 20August 11, 2019 8:04 AM

She can't help it that her eyes are too close together!!!

by Anonymousreply 21August 11, 2019 8:05 AM

You’d think working on a show like The Simpsons would give you perspective enough that being in a cult like Scientology is fucking bonkers.

Sorry, I know this thread is about Yeardley not Nancy...

by Anonymousreply 22August 11, 2019 8:48 AM

Wow, had no idea she was such a player

by Anonymousreply 23August 11, 2019 1:26 PM

In podcast interviews, she comes across as very driven and neurotic. Pretty interesting.

by Anonymousreply 24April 10, 2020 10:03 PM

She's everywhere!

She seemed pretty chill when she guested on Alec Mapa's podcast. She mentioned some one woman shows that she's done.

by Anonymousreply 26April 10, 2020 10:07 PM

It's her odd voice that makes me think of the child vampire in "Interview with the Vampire."

by Anonymousreply 27April 10, 2020 10:07 PM

I read an interview with her last year in which she said she didn't really appreciate her success with The Simpsons for many years, because voice acting wasn't the career she'd originally wanted. She said she took a lot of pride in her role as Lisa nowadays.

by Anonymousreply 28April 10, 2020 10:12 PM

She was Cynthia Nixon's stand-by in The Real Thing way back in 1983. When Cynthia left the show, Yeardley took over the part. I saw her then and she was terrific. Much more charismatic than Cynthia.

She's no great beauty, so I'm so pleased for her that she fell into the Simpson's gig.

by Anonymousreply 29April 10, 2020 10:15 PM

She fired her agent after 23 years and it made things worse.

by Anonymousreply 30April 10, 2020 10:16 PM

Greg Kinnear’s assistant in As Good As It Gets

by Anonymousreply 31April 10, 2020 10:52 PM

She’d make a terrific Mama Rose.

by Anonymousreply 32April 10, 2020 11:26 PM

She has more money than god. She's fine.

Bonita Rokiki forever.

by Anonymousreply 33April 10, 2020 11:45 PM

She has a face for voice acting.

by Anonymousreply 34April 10, 2020 11:45 PM

If she hadn't gotten the Simpsons, she could easily have become a Margo Martindale, Beth Grant type

by Anonymousreply 35April 11, 2020 12:15 AM

Martindale and Grant have a "regular woman" quality. Smith stands out because of her voice and looks. She's very unusual looking AND sounding.

by Anonymousreply 36April 11, 2020 12:29 AM

She needed/needs a good Agnes DiPesto role.

by Anonymousreply 37April 11, 2020 7:02 AM

R21 Not to mention having the longest philtrum in human history

by Anonymousreply 38April 11, 2020 9:47 AM

Brag!

by Anonymousreply 39April 11, 2020 2:36 PM

I've often wondered why Cynthia Stevenson's career has been so minor as she was touted as being the next Sally Field.
