Once this was pointed out to me, I wondered how I'd never noticed it before. The funny thing is that I vaguely remember noticing that the vocals on the chorus of "I'm Gonna Be All Right" sounded nothing like those on her other songs. I wondered why they made the backup singer so prominent.

Anyone who has worked in the music business knows that you don't own your reference track or demo track if the song is bought by a bigger artist. In theory they're supposed to copy your reference, or sing their own version of it, but they can basically do whatever they want with your voice. It's not ideal, but it's the way it is. All these girls, like Christina Millian, knew that, which is why none of them ever called Jenny Lo out for it publicly.

Also it's not like she's masquerading as some great artiste. J. Lo isn't exactly Celine Dion as a vocalist, and nobody expects her to have some Tori Amos level input into her own music. She's a Las Vegas showgirl. She gets gussied up in all her glitter, leotards and feathers, shakes her ass, and puts on a show.

Mariah is understandably mad about that sample incident (as was Chante Moore for a similar incident) but I actually think both of those are on Puffy's head. There's a trend of YT videos showing reactions of people watching music/ performers from the '60s-'80s. Omfg so I was reading Mariah’s book, and she goes off about the female entertainer she “doesn’t know” and tells the story about how Mariah recorded the original version of Loverboy, and then Tommy took the sound and sample and rushed to have J Lo record “I’m Real” and released it on J Los sophomore album so that Mariah couldn’t release her song for the Glitter album, forcing Mariah to redo it all.

Finally, after all these years, we get to hear the original Loverboy. I listened then ran to J Lo’s song, and I can’t believe J Lo and Tommy did that. They full on stole it and just changed a few things.

J. Lo's talent is willing herself onto the public and sucking every dick in Hollywood to keep booking shows and awards.

Her first three albums are actually very good R&B/dance-pop albums but not because of Jennifer Lopez. But because of all the talented producers and songwriters and talented singers they pooled together. J. Lo was just the face to sell the product. All she had to do was model half-naked photos and dance in her videos. She got away with it because she sang (really talked) the verses while different singers sang the chorus. It's comical because the chorus singers sounded nothing like J. Lo. All of J. Lo's songs have different sounding singers on them. She's like Leif Garrett who also had ghost singers in the background to hide his weak vocals.

Rihanna, Britney and Katy may be poor singers but they still sing most of their materials despite all the autotune. They use backup singers but it's still clearly them on the audio.

All of them weren't necessarily stolen but the shady tactics used to get her some of the songs created that reputation. Beyonce sings her own stuff but she has been known in the industry to not properly credit the true song writers and arrangers.

The only reason J LO is still famous is because she is a novelty act. She is an ethnic woman in America at 50 who looks great. That's the only reason she is still famous. Her music is empty garbage. She may be a talented actress and dancer but her contribution to pop music is like -10000000.
