Geeky musician Josh Turner

This is the kind of uber-talented, geeky, seriously straight boy I always totally crush on. It's simply not fair.

This is the only musician named Josh Turner I've ever heard of.

Yeah. This is a different Josh Turner.

by Anonymousreply 2August 4, 2019 1:33 AM

Well if young Josh wants to go pro he's going to have to change his name.

by Anonymousreply 3August 4, 2019 1:36 AM

Get a better taste, OP. In both music and men.

by Anonymousreply 4August 4, 2019 1:36 AM

You're obviously not a musician, r4.

by Anonymousreply 5August 4, 2019 1:44 AM

He's going by Joshua Lee Turner now to avoid confusion with the country singer with the same name. Here he is on a street corner in Vienna singing his recent song, Cross-Eyed Love, with Reina Del Cid. He's very talented guitar player and singer/songwriter.

Josh did a beautiful cover of Simon & Garfunkel's The Only Living Boy in New York.

What was the point of putting that in this thread, r9?

by Anonymousreply 10November 22, 2019 3:15 AM

My point was that I understand what it is to crush on a geeky musician. Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 11November 22, 2019 3:17 AM

What is your damage OP. What is simply not fair? That he is straight? That you crush on straight boys. Because there are dozens of such boys, who are straight and gay, in every boho neighborhood in every city, and every college campus, and the gay versions fuck other boys. But not you. Because you're 100 years old.

by Anonymousreply 12November 22, 2019 3:18 AM

Josh and his friend Chase Eagleson did a stunning duet cover of James Blake's Don't Miss It.

Technically flawless, but there's no soul behind it. Come back to me in twenty years when you've live a little, kid.

by Anonymousreply 14February 3, 2020 3:18 AM

*lived

by Anonymousreply 15February 3, 2020 3:18 AM

I like all-grown-up Josh Turner.

He can pluck my string anytime.

by Anonymousreply 16February 3, 2020 4:06 AM

Does he have any original material?

by Anonymousreply 22March 15, 2020 2:52 AM

I'll watch some of these other clips as I go along but I just wanted to thank you OP for exposing me to that video. Just so marvelous. Their harmony was lovely.

by Anonymousreply 23March 15, 2020 3:25 AM

An entire album's worth, r22. Scroll down. Complete songs, too (not just :30 of each).

Trust us. We won’t be fighting you for that one.

by Anonymousreply 27March 15, 2020 1:36 PM

It's about the amazing music, and not whether you find him hot.

by Anonymousreply 28March 15, 2020 4:44 PM

I like both his music and his hotness, r28. Totally my type. Could not be more so.

by Anonymousreply 29March 15, 2020 4:47 PM

Joshua Lee Turner has just released his second solo new album, Public Life. Available digitally and on CD. It may be even better than his first album.

You can preview the entire album at the linked video.

OP, I love this guy, been following him for ages.

by Anonymousreply 31August 17, 2020 5:24 PM

He needs to cover Roy Orbison. He was getting close with Tom but I’d like to see him do Roy songs.

And Buddy Holly.
