Epic!
Tom Welling, Lynda Carter’s WW, Burt Ward return in Crisis in Infinite Earths.

Lynda Carter is coming back as WW! Holy shit!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 22, 2019 8:21 PM |
Burt Ward was a cutie back in the day.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 22, 2019 8:23 PM |
Will they still kill off Supergirl and Flash, a la the original?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 22, 2019 8:26 PM |
I have always wanted to rim Tom Welling until he shoots his load down my throat.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 22, 2019 8:30 PM |
I'm kind of surprised that Tom is only 42 years old and he has gone totally gray!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 22, 2019 8:31 PM |
It would be a hoot if they brought in Cathy Lee Crosby’s WW along with Lynda.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 22, 2019 8:35 PM |
And George Clooney, Michael Keaton Val Kilmer etc ALL THE BATMANS
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 22, 2019 8:36 PM |

Is this true???????????
If Clark is coming back then Lex has to as well!!!!!
OMG!!!!!

I am very very excited about this.

Now that a certain long running CW show is coming to an end, they can spend money on something people might actually watch.

Fuck you, R11
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 22, 2019 9:03 PM |
I’ll pass, R12. But thanks for the offer.

I wonder what Lynda's costume will be.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 22, 2019 9:07 PM |
R14 I wonder if they will de-age her digitally and cast someone with Lynda’s 70’s body type for action shots or go with a mature variation on the character. The latter would be more cost effective. She has to spin!

by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 23, 2019 12:13 AM |
Crisis On Infinite Earths was the most epic thing DC Comics ever did. I knew it was only a matter of time before they turned it into a series or movie.

He looks like Burke Ramsey in R4.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 23, 2019 12:21 AM |
Is this for real? I would think Lynda Carter suiting up to play Wonder Woman again would be big enough news to at least warrant a story in the Hollywood Reporter, wouldn't it? In any event, I hope it's true and I would definitely watch.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 23, 2019 12:21 AM |
The article says they are ‘in talks.’
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 23, 2019 12:23 AM |
Tom Welling is morphing into Jeremy Renner.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 23, 2019 12:24 AM |
Ugh, no R24. Tom Welling is still beautiful, just differently. Jeremy Renner is fug.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 23, 2019 4:39 AM |
R20 except the CW version will be terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 23, 2019 8:40 AM |
Ugh remember when that bitch refused to put on the supe getup cause that will get in his stars career ? Not so starry now huh, Tom.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 23, 2019 9:56 AM |
I recall Smallville Season 1, where they put the 15-year-old Clark on a post with his shirt hanging open. You could just hear the viewer cocks snapping to attention. Unfortunately, they never showed that glorious moment of self-discovery when Clark had an 'accident' in the barn with the milking machine.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 23, 2019 10:20 AM |
I wonder if they'll get Erica, Laura and Helen involved too.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 23, 2019 10:45 AM |
Even though she’s already been back as the female version of Brainiac, I would love Laura to appear as Kara
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 23, 2019 11:03 AM |
R30 I don't see why she can't since Brandon gets to play Superman again while playing a different character on LOT.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 23, 2019 11:23 AM |
DC should have built their cinematic universe to lead up to Crisis, but they don’t have Marvel’s vision and planning. This needs lots of $$$ to do it right, and they are just dealing with CW tv money. Each show has an entire season to budget for in addition to this event crossover.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 23, 2019 2:01 PM |
R2, Burt Ward was once married to the daughter of Mort Lindsey, Judy's conductor and Merv Griffin's bandleader.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 23, 2019 2:06 PM |
They should just go for broke and have Rep. Ilhan Omar appear as the POTUS in the CW Universe.
It would drive Trumptards insane!

R34 Not everything has to become political. Jeez
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 23, 2019 2:18 PM |
R35, did you not watch last season's Supergirl?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 23, 2019 2:19 PM |
Lois is coming back and we'll also meet their son, Jon.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 23, 2019 2:24 PM |
There’s a difference in political storylines in the CW shows and trying to insert Ilan Omar and Trump supporters into a discussion about a superhero crossover event.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 23, 2019 2:25 PM |
I remember the "Batman" series wardrobe department having a problem with Burt Ward's VPL.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 20, 2019 12:23 PM |
R42 DC hasn't destroyed some of their iconic stories like Captain Marvel whose name was Marvel and he was a man. Those Starlin stories were the best stories of the 70s bit Marvel negated that with that bad movie. Not to mention the lead's totally mediocre performance.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 20, 2019 12:40 PM |
R48 they confirmed she wouldn't be appearing as Wonder Woman but said they would still like her to be involved. Honestly it's jam packed as it is.

r56 Hmm, I find myself wanting to side with some of the comments under that tweet. First of all, this is CW schlock, not high art, so why the fuck would you need the script in advance? Secondly, this is fan service, so of course the pay isn't the main draw here for anyone.
You know, I quite like him as an actor, but his sense of his own importance isn't really proportionate to where he currently is in the acting world. Just sayin'.

Are they going to bring back Jackson Bostwick and Joanna Cameron as Captain Marvel and Isis from the 1970s live action Saturday morning series?

Osric Chau from Supernatural coming on as Ryan Choi for COIE and who in the comics eventually became the second Atom.

Brandon is being a good sport promoting this, especially since they’re writing both him and his wife off of the show this season.

Tom Welling has always been handsome, but he’s incredibly sexy with the beefier body.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 27, 2019 1:43 PM |
What kind of costume would Lynda wear? Obviously not her original one eventhough she looks incredible for her age.
The Cathy Lee Crosby jumpsuit could work.

R70 whatever it is, hopefully there's no camel toe this time around.

Hardly. Lynda Carter is still gorgeous. Most women would kill to look as good as she does at 67 years old.
I always imagine that Delta Burke could have looked this good, as well, if she hadn't gone off the rails.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 27, 2019 4:59 PM |
I can't believe Lynda Carter has never had work done. 68 year-olds don't have jawlines that firm.

r77 Tom looking super "refreshed." 👀
by Anonymous | reply 79 | October 1, 2019 2:02 AM |
Wow. Did not realize Tom was so much bigger than Tyler, as demonstrated in r77's photo.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | October 1, 2019 2:10 AM |
Tom Welling is usually listed as 6'3" while Hoechlin at 6'0".
Welling and Tom Ellis from Lucifer seem to be about the same height, and Ellis is also listed as 6'3".
by Anonymous | reply 81 | October 1, 2019 2:15 AM |
Tom Welling is not only taller, but he seems bigger physically than Tyler. If may be the angle from which the photo was taken, but Tom seems huge while Tyler seems tiny.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | October 1, 2019 2:31 AM |
Tom Welling is human beef. I actually recoiled once as a kid watching this show when I saw his thumb and it was the size of my fucking big toe. He was so stacked, he walked kinda inelegantly because of that as well. Sort of lumbered from one place to another.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | October 1, 2019 2:42 AM |
They could make bank with a Lynda WW show in the Arrowverse. She still looks great, probably would love the job, and is thought of fondly by both millennials, gen x, and baby boomers.

Doing this crossover event is just the right amount. Apparently, it's one episode on each of the currently running shows - Arrow, Supergirl, Legends, Batwoman, Flash. That's essentially a five episode arc. The hoopla will be off the charts if she does it.
She was brilliant on Law & Order and SVU as a grifter working with her daughter.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | October 1, 2019 3:53 AM |
R88 I feel like a lot of these are just going to be 30 second cameos though.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | October 1, 2019 3:59 AM |
Obviously if Lynda does it she won't be wearing her old WW costume, but they'll make something age-appropriate.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | October 1, 2019 4:00 AM |
[quote][R88] I feel like a lot of these are just going to be 30 second cameos though.
I don't think so. While it's not going to follow the original Crisis on Infinite Earths story, I think the participation is going to vary. Welling probably won't do that much more than a 30-second cameo, but Routh will probably do a lot more since he was a series regular on Legends and it wouldn't be like coming out of retirement to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | October 1, 2019 4:14 AM |
DC Animated needs to do a faithful adaptation of Crisis On Infinite Earths, like they did with Frank Miller's Dark Knight. That would be worth watching.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | October 1, 2019 4:15 AM |
A Lynda Carter WW reboot on WB would be amazing. It would get all demographics and major advertising dollars and would maybe help push WB in the "prestige TV" direction.
Lynda is only 68, which is now still "marketable" per Meryl, Cher, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | October 1, 2019 4:17 AM |

Or would you-know-who try and talk her out of it.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | October 1, 2019 4:25 AM |
It looks like they are trying to tie as many past DCTV shows as possible to the Arrowverse. Supposedly there's still more people that they haven't announced yet for the crossover. It's believed that Tom Welling may be there for longer than just a cameo because of Marc Guggenheim.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | October 1, 2019 5:52 AM |

I don't know R96 maybe someone else from Smallville, the Birds of Prey tv show, another new character or maybe someone from another DCTV show or Mark Hamil as the Trickster or the Joker. Heck if anyone is still alive maybe someone from the 50s Superman tv show.

He's also no where near lycra-ready, but still quite handsome.

But did she get as deep as the branding, or just the creepy MLM part?
She's got a show that she produces and stars in for CBC, which the CW picked up to air in the US, so they can't be THAT worried.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | October 1, 2019 12:57 PM |
Kreuk got out the moment it got creepy, but the real issue is that people perceive her as the one who recruited Mack. Which she did. So it's hard to separate the two, even if she did nothing wrong.

by Anonymous | reply 126 | October 8, 2019 6:38 PM |
Noel Neil played Lois Lane in the 1950s Superman TV series. The name of Erica's character was an homage to her.

I agree Burt Ward was cute in the 1960s Batman series. For those who don't know about the book, there was a huge controversy about his huge package. Network executives met and called Adam West a "ballerina crotch" compared to him.
A large Catholic organization and the "American Decency League" or something to that effect complained to the network and producers. Why were they looking at his dick?
So the costumers forced Ward to wear a special "crotch girdle" to tie down his dick. The device is visible through his costume, as his bulge before he began wearing it.
I'll be glad to see Tom and Lynda if they return to television. Also saw Brandon Routh in a photo; he was a handsome Superman. There's a handsome gay doctor in my city who has a resemblance to him.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | October 8, 2019 7:28 PM |

I agree with the commenter about Kristin Kreuk...Lana was so annoying on Smallville, I don't need to see her in this project.

Have there been any rumors about someone from Earth X making a cameo? It seems kind of weird that they would do it without the Ray and/or Citizen Cold.

Only bulldaggers, chicks with dicks, etc are allowed to be heroes.
Gay men are second class citizens in his universe.

The speculation I've read she'll be Wonder Woman on the Kingdom Come Earth. Which raises the question if Wonder Woman-75 takes place in the same universe.
Also, they basically have to restore at least some of the Earths, since, you know, they wiped out the Titans and the Doom Patrol.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | December 9, 2019 9:41 PM |
Do you think Russell and the Titans cameo was actually shot for this crossover or was it just extra footage from other things? I mean why Jason Todd and Hawk?
by Anonymous | reply 210 | December 9, 2019 10:16 PM |
It's COIE. ALL of the Earths will be unified with one timeline.
This will be restarted at the beginning of time and all of the dead characters will be restored on the new single Earth.
I've wanted to watch Titans but I am sick of DC lesbians/bisexuals. Is Titans overloaded in Sapphic-ness? Ugh.

by Anonymous | reply 227 | December 10, 2019 4:59 AM |
Tom is still as sexy as ever and really makes Tyler Hoechlin minuscule by comparison. You can tell that the condition of Tom's cameo was that it wouldn't involve the suit or CGI etc. In my head canon this was not the same earth as "Smallville", just a very similar one. Also Tom Welling's Superman blows the others out of the water in terms of strength. He pushed an entire planet out of the solar system. I can't imagine Tyler's superman being able to do that.
The SM v SM fight was poor CGI but it was lovely seeing BR as Superman again.
Jon Cryer is a very lacklustre Lex Luthor. I stopped watching Arrowverse shows a couple of years ago and only dip back in for the crossovers. So this was my first exposure to his interpretation of LL. In a way it was good that Michael Rosenbaum didnt return as it would have really highlighted the issue.
Not a fan of Ruby Rose and I find her very hard to understand when she's in costume.

[quote]It’s kinda a bummer that he’s just a regular person now.
I actually found it kind of delightful. Even though neither is an outstanding actor, by the end of Smallville, Tom and Erica were, if not my favorite version of Clark and Lois, my favorite version of them as a couple. It was nice seeing that they managed to end up in a happy life together.
I love that they've used the music from the various movies and series to introduce the Earths. The use of John Williams' score when they introduced Brandon's Superman just really got me.
It's fun trying to figure out why the various Earths are numbered the way they are. Earth-66 was fairly obvious, -96 is the year Kingdom Come was published, -99 was the debut of Batman Beyond. But I'm stumped on the Smallville one, Earth-167.
by Anonymous | reply 229 | December 10, 2019 10:26 AM |
In the comics earth 167 was the reality where Clark was Batman and Lex was Superman. So it’s a weird choice to reuse that number for something so different. Earth1610 would have been better as the show first aired 16 October.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | December 10, 2019 11:06 AM |
Also, Superman III is a terrible movie, and I think Singer (sigh) was right to ignore it for Superman Returns, but I have to admit, -96 telling -38, Lois, and Iris that he'd "gone crazy and fought [himself]" before got a huge giggle out of me. As was acknowledging that his own son still existed when making goo-goo faces at Jonathan.

I thought maybe Smallville ran for 167 episodes, but it actually for a lot more than that, so I'm totally stumped.

Killer Frost was in the previous crossover. She'll probably show up in tomorrow's episode. What i don't understand is why Lois and Iris just stood there watching Brandon and Tyler fight instead of dealing with Lex??

Yes, R229, I agree. It’s just that I wanted to see Toms Supes go to battle and do a bit more than the cameo he did.
Everybody is saying that if any world Clark would have left it all behind it would have been Toms Clark as he was portrayed as the most human given his upbringing.
I still enjoyed seeing Tom as Clark nevertheless.

I enjoyed the cameos and Easter eggs but the story is so lackluster. I know they don't have a big budget but all they do is walk around and talk. From episode one of Flash it's been he disappears in Crisis, now 6 years later, doesn't have to be this Flash, such a cop out. I like how Oliver's daughter is a major part of the story but his gay son is no where to be seen. Iris is also an expert on the Waverider, the actress must have dirt on the producers. Was hoping Lucifer and Constantine would have flirted at least. Like that Lila has a big role in this., wish she had zapped Barry for whipping her daughter out of existence. As long as Lynda Carter shows up as WW, then this cross over will be redeemed.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | December 11, 2019 3:50 PM |
The Flash portion of this crossover is my fave even though no one can act except for Cress and John Wesley Shipp. I'm also grateful there was barely any Mia because she came off as brat and i wanted Sara to whoop her ass. Gonna be hard to include 25+ members of the Legion. Show will likely focus on a small number of Legionnaires, like the cartoon series did.
Article says that Berlanti's favorite period was the fourth series that began in 1989. But I hope they don't try to adapt that period of the Legion's rich history. In my opinion, 1989 was when Legion when dreadfully wrong. My favorite period of the Legion was the Jim Shooter run of the late 1960s, followed closely by the Paul Levitz run through most of the 1980s.

I know and accept Rosenbaum isn’t returning, but I can’t help feeling bummed out by it. His Lex really is unsurpassed, even from his inaugural episodes and so many years after they aired. He’s sorely missed. I think he would have done a fine job with the role once again and I would have been beyond excited to see his middle-aged vision of Lex, but I see why he won’t do it and respect the (probably wise) decision.
OT but does anyone else find it a tough hang watching SMALLVILLE back since Mack was convicted of all her creepy cultism? It’s ruined the show for me.

R211 originally as a property TITANS wasn’t ever big on gay characters Male or Female, even in the books and animations. The comic was more about group race/ethnicity & disability/mental health issues for youth (especially in the cases of Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy & Raven) than it was about sexuality & personal identity, which is more a Marvel (especially X-Men) thing anyways.
Crush (2011) & Bunker (2019) are recent token-gay additions to the Titans. Off the top of my head I can’t even remember if any original Titans were actually canon-gay: I think Jericho or Rose Wilson (Slade’s son & daughter)? possibly Kid Devil in one book? Then of course there’s the Robins Jay & Dick but that’s a holdover from the Bat-verse.

R297 he didn't get much backlash over Andrew Kreisberg.
R299 lesbian fans would disagree with you and your silly criticism.

Black Lightning's daughter Thunder in the comics is a lesbian and in a relationship with an Amazonian.

Yesterday I rewatched the 200th episode of Smallville - the one where Brainiac5 takes Clark to the past and future. And wow the dialogue is a lot more cringe than I remember. Lois in particular was awful.
by Anonymous | reply 304 | December 26, 2019 7:24 AM |
R304 SMALLVILLE was from the CW. It would be off-brand if the dialogue were anything but cringeworthy. See ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, GOSSIP GIRL, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES or ONE TREE HILL for more egregious examples.

by Anonymous | reply 308 | December 28, 2019 1:49 AM |
I stopped watching the Arrowverse after being a loyal viewer of Flash and Supergirl after SG got so lesbo/trans centric and SJW preachy.
I watched the 1st 3 Crisis eps and it's ehhhhh.
I still don't get how Brandon Routh is a Clark/Supermen and just happens to look exactly like Ray/The Atom. Isnt that NOT how the parallel earths work?
And they transported like a BILLION people from SG's earth to Earth 1? WTF?? Where are they all living?
WHere is Lynda Carter???

Wasn’t Keiynan Lonsdale supposed to join Legends as a regular cast member before suddenly deciding to pursue a film career? I wonder if he actually filmed scenes - if the rumor is true - or if they’ll kill him offscreen.

They really should give Ezra his own movie. And he would be the most likely to make an appearance. Still makes me laugh that some fans thought Cavill would do a cameo.
by Anonymous | reply 328 | January 15, 2020 5:10 AM |
Did not see that cameo coming. It's really smart of Warner Bros. to make that happen because they don't have to worry about The Batman doing well at the box office, but they do have to worry about The Flash whenever they finally roll film on that standalone. At least this can garner goodwill from "The Flash" fans who felt that Grant Gustin was disrespected by WB by doing another live-action Barry Allen.

by Anonymous | reply 348 | January 15, 2020 10:05 PM |
Too bad they couldn't finalize a deal with Lynda for a return.
The female president speech at the end was very long for an out of nowhere character. I'm thinking they had originally planned that for Lynda, but it didn't work out with her. Too bad. Any sort of appearance would have been good.
by Anonymous | reply 349 | January 15, 2020 10:15 PM |
So we got 3(!!) deathbed scenes for Green Arrow, but Cisco just vanishes without anyone mentioning that he's not coming back? I'll wait until the next episode to believe if he's truly gone.
by Anonymous | reply 350 | January 15, 2020 10:20 PM |
Cisco was not killed off. I read an interview with one of the producers today - will post if I can find the link again. Basically, he said that the actors get paid a certain rate for the crossovers - more than just a guest appearance. So budget dictated who appeared where and when and it was a matter of budget which is why no Cisco and Iris.

by Anonymous | reply 358 | January 16, 2020 6:44 AM |
Fine if the budget doesn’t stretch to having certain characters there but they should at least have mentioned them and chuck in an explanation for their absence.
I’ve been out of the shows for a while. Who was the chick in the 5th episode fighting the anti monitor’s phantoms in blue costume with long hair who they made a point of always hiding her face and shooting her from behind. Was it meant to be a character whose actor was unavailable so they used a double or was it just poor directorship.
by Anonymous | reply 359 | January 16, 2020 9:34 AM |
So both Lynda Carter and Helen Slater appear on "Supergirl" and they couldn't have them appear. They both still look great. They could have pulled off versions of their costumes
by Anonymous | reply 360 | January 16, 2020 12:59 PM |
George Perez has been in poor health for a while, so he might not have been up to an on camera appearance. Marv was brought in to help supervise the writing for this, so he was likely also around to put him on camera for an appearance.
by Anonymous | reply 361 | January 16, 2020 2:07 PM |
I did like that Marv's scene was with Kara and Barry, the two characters he killed off in the original Crisis.
Caity Lotz really knocked the final episode out of the park. I guess Sara is going to be the new leader for their team-ups. At least, I hope she is.

Seeing Marvel acknowledge the original creators in their credits really gets me.
Although does DC give Bill Finger credit for Batman? That's always been a problem.

Bill Finger's been given a With creator credit for Batman for a few years now.
Looks like they could never get a deal for Lynda. Seems they couldn't fit her into the budget and WB wouldn't pay more. Strange that WB did pay more at the last minute to get Ezra into the show, but that's their current priorities, I guess.
