Ross Perot is DEAD TO ME
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 10, 2019 10:46 AM |
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 9, 2019 3:21 PM |
The first vote I ever cast—in our grade school mock election. Probably with the same level of thought as the adults who actually voted for him.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 9, 2019 3:24 PM |
Good riddance
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 9, 2019 3:25 PM |
He was a joke.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 9, 2019 3:27 PM |
I just remember the fucking EARS.
He and Paul Ryan both have the same flapping ears.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 9, 2019 3:28 PM |
Ross Perot is, like, the third or fourth person to die recently where I really thought they were long gone already.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 9, 2019 3:29 PM |
Oh no!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 9, 2019 3:30 PM |
I think the bigger news, for me anyway, is that he was still living.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 9, 2019 3:30 PM |
Yeah he was funny looking
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 9, 2019 3:31 PM |
We actually need someone to do what he did in terms of bringing awareness of the public debt.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 9, 2019 3:32 PM |
Can you hear me?!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 9, 2019 3:37 PM |
You people...
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 9, 2019 3:37 PM |
His one value is that he split the right so Clinton could win. Not that that's such a great thing, though.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 9, 2019 3:39 PM |
What do you mean, R13?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 9, 2019 3:41 PM |
Votes between GHW Bush and Perot split for Clinton to pull ahead.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 9, 2019 3:44 PM |
“Can I Finish??”
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 9, 2019 3:44 PM |
So young!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 9, 2019 3:45 PM |
Yes, I know that, R15.
What did you mean by the split not being a good thing?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 9, 2019 3:46 PM |
Who am I? Why am I in this thread?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 9, 2019 3:47 PM |
Another one bites the dust!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 9, 2019 3:48 PM |
Clinton winning was not such a great thing, in hindsight.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 9, 2019 3:53 PM |
R22, Clinton was definitely better than Bush & Dole (including for gays).
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 9, 2019 3:58 PM |
Too young!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 9, 2019 4:00 PM |
Perot was actually 100% correct about NAFTA and the "giant sucking sound" it would cause by draining American jobs.
NAFTA was probably better for the American economy as a whole ... but its legacy of lost Midwestern jobs is one reason we ended up with Trump as president.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 9, 2019 4:01 PM |
What Hillary & the Democrats should have pointed out more in 2016 was that it was the Republican Administration of George Bush Senior that set up NAFTA in the first place. Bill Clinton signed it in the end because Bush Senior lost the election, but it was the right-wing business community who were behind it.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 9, 2019 4:04 PM |
I remember the debates and Ross Perot looked like an idiot. Back then, it was the kiss of death and so it should be. Fast forward to 2016 and another imbecile billionaire won the election for the very same quality that was so detrimental for Perot. Oh yeah, and the Orange one LIES all the time. That quality was once the kiss of death for a politician but now it's worn like a badge of honor. My, how times have changed.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 9, 2019 4:06 PM |
Broke the suffocating 12 yr Reagan-Bush right wing Theocracy/Military Dictatorship
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 9, 2019 4:06 PM |
Good observations, R28.
The rise of reality t.v. and celebrity culture (of which Trump himself is a product) set in motion the events of 2016.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 9, 2019 4:10 PM |
RIP, dude.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 9, 2019 4:14 PM |
R24, are you also R17?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 9, 2019 4:19 PM |
[quote]I remember the debates and Ross Perot looked like an idiot.
The guy I felt sorry for was that poor fool Perot picked as his running mate. That man was painful watch.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 9, 2019 4:23 PM |
Watch it, r33!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 9, 2019 4:33 PM |
The first presidential election I voted in was in 1992 and I voted for Perot, because I lived in a red state and thought Perot had a chance of beating Bush for our electoral votes.
He got 27% and Bush got 38%. Learned a big lesson about "viable" third-party candidates.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 9, 2019 4:37 PM |
R35, what did Clinton get in your state?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 9, 2019 4:39 PM |
89? So young.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 9, 2019 4:50 PM |
R37 are you also R24 and r17?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 9, 2019 4:51 PM |
R38: Are you the hall monitor? The hall MARY?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 9, 2019 4:53 PM |
R38 I am not!
I am R37, the person who *actually did that little piece of theater correctly.*
Now scurry or I'll slap you like I used to slap my awful sister.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 9, 2019 4:54 PM |
And with a giant sucking sound he disappeared in the bowels of Hell.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 9, 2019 5:07 PM |
Tehe, R41.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 9, 2019 5:13 PM |
He was crazy.
Remember his rant about paratroopers descending on his daughters' wedding?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 9, 2019 5:16 PM |
Will my billions ensure me a place in the "good" part of heaven? Not next to.... those people.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 9, 2019 5:46 PM |
Bottom line of video at r44: Exit polls consistently show Perot took votes equally from Bush and Clinton
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 9, 2019 5:48 PM |
He was trash.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 9, 2019 5:55 PM |
Yes r38, because there’s nothing more exhausting (except maybe you) than reading the same tired jokes post after post after post.
Especially when they weren’t funny to begin with.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 9, 2019 6:15 PM |
So what was the deal with his daughter? She posed for some lesbian pictures and Bush Sr. was going to release them on her wedding day? So Perot dropped out the first time because of this, right?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 9, 2019 6:16 PM |
This is the first thing I thought of when I heard the news. Some of the 90s show we had as kids were truly awful.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 9, 2019 6:25 PM |
R48 Is new here. A "Too young" post is a DL requirement when a crusty dusty old fart dies.
I've been waiting for "He had a huge cock but he couldn't live forever".
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 9, 2019 6:34 PM |
He will never be president.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 9, 2019 6:35 PM |
Evil old man. He would bill former employees for all their training costs if they got fired.
Another scumbag gone.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 9, 2019 6:37 PM |
R51, not new here. Not by a long shot. Of course it’s DL requisite, but it had been said three times.
C’mon, it loses its luster fast.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 9, 2019 6:41 PM |
One of the better Time Magazine covers of the time.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 9, 2019 6:50 PM |
Wasn't Cher a passionate supporter of his?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 9, 2019 7:37 PM |
He lost me -if he ever had me- when he made his statement that he would not have any gays in his Cabinet. Buh bye.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 9, 2019 7:43 PM |
I think about Ross Perot every time I escape through the Hatch in DEAD BY DAYLIGHT.
Perot used to talk about "That Giant Sucking Sound" when referring to the outsourcing of American jobs.
And a Giant Sucking Sound is how you find the Hatch and win DEAD BY DAYLIGHT.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 9, 2019 7:43 PM |
Ross Perot fucked with the Texas school system and I lost a scholarship on a technicality because of it.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 9, 2019 8:15 PM |
He gave a speech at the college that I attended in the mid-80s in Texas. Later that afternoon I was walking to a class, turned a corner, and ran smack into him. I am a woman, about 5'4" and I could literally look him in the eye. He was a very short man. He glared at me and he and his posse carried on.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 9, 2019 8:18 PM |
I shook his hand after a speech in Salt Lake City, r60. You're right, he's short.
One of my friends, who is a bigoted conservative, said Perot had a weak handshake and he could tell he'd never worked hard a day in his life.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 9, 2019 9:06 PM |
He's fine! He sends his love!
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 9, 2019 9:27 PM |
R54 C'mon!!! It's a silly DL meme. That kind of stupid DL overplayed shit is the glue that binds us. It's like an inside joke. We know it's lame, played out, and tired but it's why we love it. It's like when I called a FB bitch a house frau and the entire interwebs were like, "What's a frau?" Lol! Really?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 9, 2019 9:43 PM |
R48 is having a very, very heavy flow day and really needs to change her bloody tampon.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 9, 2019 10:09 PM |
All right, now listen, all right? Now everybody knows your coon hound can't refinish your basement unless he smokes a corncob pipe and he's won at least two Peabody Awards, all right?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 9, 2019 10:46 PM |
[quote]what did Clinton get in your state?
Laid.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 9, 2019 11:16 PM |
[quote] One of my friends, who is a bigoted conservative
Any you’re friends with him why precisely?
[quote] he could tell he'd never worked hard a day in his life.
I don’t know about Ross Senior, but his son Ross Junior is an extremely hard working and dedicated man in running his businesses.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 10, 2019 7:21 AM |
He looked like a Ferengi.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 10, 2019 7:52 AM |
[quote] He looked like a Ferengi.
Didhe enjoy Oomax?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 10, 2019 7:57 AM |
Ross Jr is worse
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 10, 2019 8:56 AM |
I voted for him in 1992 because Cher told me to.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 10, 2019 10:38 AM |
Of course he helped Clinton win. And '92 Clinton was fantastic. I agree NAFTA was beyond stupid. But we all make mistakes.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 10, 2019 10:46 AM |
