I was embarrassed for her at the debate.
Marianne Williamson - is she a nut?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 29, 2019 3:03 AM |
Yes. Definitely. She preaches about love and healing but is kind of a bitch. Odd juxtaposition.

Do some research OP. She's a first class charlatan and self proclaimed spiritual guru who made millions of dollars off of gay men suffering and death from AIDS. When she was at her most popular and powerful, many exposes were written about her. Still she has her followers, spiritually. She blocked me from Twitter the moment she announced her candidacy, for reasons I won't get into here.

Sigourney Weaver stole the entire movie when she did a hilarious imitation on her in the 1996 JEFFREY.

R2, please DO get into them here. It sounds very interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 28, 2019 6:28 AM |
Marianne is a failed actress, in case you couldn't tell.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 28, 2019 6:30 AM |
R3 Find that unconditional LOVE, that infinite all encompassing LOVE that let’s you say, hey Trump FUCK YOU get out of my FUCKING WHITE HOUSE until you stop LYING!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 28, 2019 6:32 AM |
Her followers include Oprah, RuPaul and Melanie Griffith. WAIT it gets better.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 28, 2019 6:32 AM |
Marianne is a Jew for Jesus, nothing wrong with that. But why did she steal all the gay men's money and be such a bitch to everyone? Even her daughter's father is unknown to her. BUT, she performed Liz Taylor's last wedding at Neverland Ranch.

She is a horrible actress. That explains everything. She came off like some kind of out of her element motivational speaker. She’s into the crazy course in miracles.
I thought it was Louise Hay that profited off all the gays during the AIDS era. That’s who I remember. You could “envision” a pencil eraser and have it erase the virus out of your system!!

[quote]Maybe the real miracle is that despite all the high-strung high rollers involved on all sides in Williamson’s mission, the work continues to get done. She still tends her multiple flocks and is penning a second book, about the healing of America. It may be difficult to determine whether Williamson really means to do good or simply to do well, but so far, she’s done both. God knows how long she’ll get away with it.

The bitch is a scatterbrained loon.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 28, 2019 7:13 AM |
She's anti vaxx, anti-science, pro-marianne. She's preached a lot of nonsense and done a lot of damage in her life. She did charitable works, while referring to herself as an "unwed jewish mother." Hmmm.
[quote]“The AIDS virus is not more powerful than God,” Williamson told a group of HIV positive disciples, according to a 1992 Los Angeles Times expose, written when Williamson was still in the early days of her fame.
[quote]For years, Williamson, Hay, and others told gay men that they could cure themselves if only they would properly visualize themselves getting well. Not just gay men, of course; people with cancer and other terminal illnesses, people struggling with obesity, people with chronic health conditions—to all of these, Williamson and her ilk said that they had the power to heal themselves, science be damned.
[quote]The results were predictable. Some people went off their medication, since taking medicine showed you didn’t really believe that you could cure yourself, and if you lack perfect faith, it’s not going to work. Some died.

I have encountered Marianne over the years for work.
While I have spoken to her on several occasions, I do not know her well.
But here are some impressions:
1) She is difficult to categorize. Hence, why she appears so anomalous on the Democratic debate stage. She's had a pretty wild background, and seems to have done just about everything.
2) She is articulate, insightful and intuitive. She's also tough as nails. I don't know her well enough to know what her angle is, or if she even has an angle. There's a connection in my field (medicine) and through this we loosely liaised via her organisation which essentially mixed spirituality and physicality.
3) Before I met her, I had some preconceived ideas of her as a rather flighty, Hollywood spiritual guru. But upon meeting her in the trenches of Detroit, found her to be practical and pragmatic.
4) She's managed to travel in some rarefied circles of all different backgrounds: professionals, celebrities and politicians. Think she is the ultimate networker.
5) She's also been a SJW for quite some time. Despite not completing college, there appears to be some connection to The London School of Economics (perhaps via her daughter), and she did run unsuccessfully for Congress to represent LA, not too long ago.
6) She's intrepid and because she's all over the board, she naturally has received much criticism. In more traditional communities (politics, law, medicine), she's often perceived as weird. In the more non traditional groups as the artists, non-profits and spiritualists, she's interpreted as too harsh or egoic.
7) As in Life, her greatest challenges (of not truly fitting in to any one box), may be one of her greatest strengths: to have an overview that provides unique perspectives, depth and insight. She's bound to rankle many individuals as she defies usual norms.
I hope this is helpful. And would love to hear from others who have also encountered her.

She was kind of an entertaining mess at the debate, and even then, I would still say she performed better than at least a handful of other candidates.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 28, 2019 8:36 AM |
I'd rather waste my time talking to my goldfish than to her.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 28, 2019 8:41 AM |
R15, I feel the same way about Gillibrand.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 28, 2019 8:43 AM |
R16 Seconded
R15 Don't know. For me, Marianne seems more genuine than some of the other politicians. Seems like she'd be more interesting and zany. Also perhaps you've got something going on with your goldfish. People are into all kinds of kinks these days. And if that's yours, more power to you!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 28, 2019 8:50 AM |
Genuine is not a word I would ascribe to Marianne Williamson. She believes what she's saying, yet it's all an act.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 28, 2019 8:55 AM |
She seems nuts.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 28, 2019 8:57 AM |
It was so interesting to hear her proclaim on healthcare policy, when she'd previously espoused the notion that if one managed to imagine perfect health 'sufficiently', then it would come and cure.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 28, 2019 9:02 AM |
Also, to answer OP's question, no I don't think she's a 'nut', I think she's a champion grifter.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 28, 2019 9:08 AM |
I really can't talk to irrational people, nothing positive will come out of it. Every answer she gave during the debate was infuriating. I really don't understand what 65,000 individual donors saw in this deranged woman.
And no, I won't talk to Gillibrand either.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 28, 2019 9:14 AM |
r22 She's huge in Hollywood. She tells them that the Universe Brought Them Fame Because They Were Special Already.
This relieves them of the guilt of "But I'm just like my roommate, who also went for that part - why me?"
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 28, 2019 9:24 AM |
She's repulsive and unqualified and a grifter like trump. She needs to be jettisoned from the Presidential Primary debate stage immediately.

Girlfriend, you are so on.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 29, 2019 2:17 AM |
Remember 2003, when Gray Davis was recalled as Gov of Calif and an election was held with everyone and his dog running to become the new Gov? There were 135 candidates, including a porn actress, Arianna Huffington, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The DNC agreeing to include Williamson in the current election for Pres reminds me of that foolishness.
