How are you caring for your prostate?
by Anonymous | reply 149 | July 14, 2020 3:04 PM |
Finger yourself every day to massage it
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 14, 2019 1:47 AM |
Have someone rub it with their penis.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 14, 2019 1:47 AM |
Saw palmetto. But ultimately nothing stops cancer.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 14, 2019 1:49 AM |
Saw Palmetto combined with pumpkin - saw palmetto is proven to be just as good as propecia in treating enlarged prostate.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 14, 2019 1:49 AM |
Cum at least twice a week. That's it. And drink enough water, eat properly, exercise regularly...
If you want to splurge on supplements, I've heard good things about saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 14, 2019 1:50 AM |
You need to clean your prostate out as often as possible by jerkin the gerkin. Those old juices sit in there and fester.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 14, 2019 1:58 AM |
But probably not cheapo generic saw palmetto/pumpkin right? Any brands you recommend?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 14, 2019 1:59 AM |
Can you shrink it down again once it starts enlarging?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 14, 2019 2:00 AM |
I use snake oil as lube while I fist myself to sleep.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 14, 2019 2:00 AM |
r8 yes - saw palmetto will reduce and enlarged prostate, you will find you pee more regularly, and no more dribble - have better sex etc...
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 14, 2019 2:04 AM |
r7 I don't buy overseas so perhaps someone more familiar with what you have on offer in the US could chime in? Just take into account the potency, the reviews, and the price, and you can't go wrong.

“Saw palmetto for prostate issues is one of the classic examples of supplement snake oil,” says Pieter Cohen, M.D., an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School who has studied supplements extensively. “It’s touted all over the place, and there is zero evidence that it actually works.”

The older guy I was dating back when I was 17 told me that, as men get older, we need to be sure to have orgasms on a regular basis to keep the prostate stimulated. So I've been masturbating regularly every since (I'm in my late 50s now). I'm grateful for his advice.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 14, 2019 5:31 AM |
I noticed blood in my ejaculate last week, quite a bit. I was grossed out. I immediately had a physical, and told my GP about it. He asked if I had Googled it already and I admitted I had. He said, Google is right! It's very common and will fix itself and indicates nothing. All my test results were perfect, but the blood is still in my cum. Yikes! Anyone else ever had this?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 14, 2019 5:50 AM |
Ejaculating a couple times a week keeps the pipes clean, apparently. I don't know if there is a correlation, but I knew two men who were by all accounts straight, and I learned (at different times) that both of them developed an absolute fucking LOVE for getting their asses fingered. One of them had his wife peg him regularly. Weirdly enough, both of them ended up having prostate cancer. It made me wonder if their intense urges to have their prostates stimulated had to do with the fact that their prostate fluids were stagnant, which in turn triggered the cancer.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 14, 2019 6:08 AM |
R21, I've had the blood in semen issue for a couple years. I saw a urologist about last summer. He did tests, examined everything, and found nothing amiss. It's extremely common when you get old, which I certainly am.

Then, a whirlwind, candy-colored stop at See's Candies for special box of Butterscotch Chews.
Lastly, a stop at Olive Garden for bottomless breadsticks, soda refills and Tour of Italy entrée.
Finally, an epic pornado consisting of Older4me porn.

I have been having prostate ultrasounds exams every couple years. It's painful! But I have recently read that an MRI on the prostate is more accurate and needs to be done only once in 10 years because prostate cancer is so slow-growing. Does anyone have any info on that?

Actually it has never been scientifically proven that the frequency of ejaculation has any positive or negative effect on prostate cancer.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 14, 2019 4:35 PM |
My urologist said that jerking-off twenty times a month will keep everything flowing. If you don't release the jizzim it'll sit in your body, leading to prostate problems.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 14, 2019 4:41 PM |
Mine is enlarged and I have trouble peeing in the morning. No cancer or pre cancer (according to Dr). What I never get a straight answer to is is it bad to have an enlarge prostate if it's not cancerous? I know how inconvenient it is but is there dangers in it being enlarged?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 14, 2019 5:02 PM |
That's baloney and your urologist should be ashamed of parroting that BS. Semen is made from 2 sources. Fluid produced by the prostate and fluid produced by the seminal vesicles. If a man goes a long time without ejaculating the the fluids are simply absorbed back into the body.
If you're going to get prostate cancer you're going to get it whether you ejaculate once a year or once a day.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 14, 2019 5:03 PM |
R36 . I'm sure that the medical and scientific communities will be dazzled by your brilliant deduction.

by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 14, 2019 5:44 PM |
Yeah lots of quackery here. Prostate cancer is not correlated with standard prostate issues for the most part. The aggressive dangerous prostate cancer is genetic - and if been lucky to win that genetic lottery.
Never heard about a prostate MRI. Anyone else heard of that? My urologist said they only have PSA tests - which are not very accurate. Waiting for the bomb to drop.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 14, 2019 5:51 PM |
The prostate needle biopsy is also notoriously inaccurate and often misses the presence of cancer cells. Doctors continue to order it because at least there is a possibility of finding the cancer and not to test could be considered a violation of standards of care. If I had symptoms I would agree to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 14, 2019 5:57 PM |
It's shocking how many doctors, especially GPs, are still spouting old wives tales, quackery, and theories that were disproved long ago. Too many doctors are quick to give opinions based on hearsay rather than scientific evidence. Look at how many times every year long standing medical opinions are proven to be complete wrong. I can't count the number of times in the past I've been to a doctor for an ailment only to sit there and listen to him make guesses as to what it is. Unless I need a prescription written by a doctor or need a specialist, I steer clear of them.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 14, 2019 6:04 PM |
@R35 . An enlarged prostate which inhibits the flow of urine can lead to bladder infections or worse over time. There is a common surgical procedure called a TPR (trans prostate resection) which involves removing tissue by way of the urethra to improve the flow of urine. It's been a while since I worked at a hospital and there may be new therapies now. If it's bothering you then you should see a urologist. As you've probably heard, when it comes to medical issues sooner is almost always better than later.

I'm to the age (early 60s) where I have prostate issues. It all started with an operation under anaesthesia. It's a common side effect that the prostate swells under those conditions, but I couldn't pee AND they sent me home without peeing. I started to vomit because I couldn't go and they had been dripping fluids into me during the whole operation. I had to go back to the emergency room and be catheterized. If you can avoid this procedure your entire lifetime, I highly recommend doing so. Exceptionally painful, constant discomfort. I begged my GP to remove it early (after 4-5 days) instead of the 10 days they were going to make me use it, and he did so. However, a year later, I went through an episode of about 10 days when I had real difficulty peeing. I had to run water to even get the slightest ability to go, and never could completely void my bladder. Again, super uncomfortable. I was traveling and couldn't see my GP. When I got back home, he put me on flomax, which solved the immediate problem VERY quickly. However, a certain percentage of people on flomax lose their ability to ejaculate, (it's called reverse ejaculation) and I'm part of that lucky group. Super freaky to have an orgasm and not to ejaculate. I tried low dose cialis, which is an effective alternative treatment, but found that I got terrible back issues when on it for a long time. So alternated flomax and cialis for about a year. Finally I'm able to be on low dose cialis all the time without suffering back issues, so I've stopped using flomax. I wish I had known in my 20s about potential prostate problems - I would have had sex 24/7.
There is a brand new surgical procedure called uro-lift. Apparently they put little stents that lift and separate your prostate away from the bladder/urethra. They don't cut any tissue, so it's an inpatient procedure. I'm going to see whether I'm a candidate for it, because I'd love not to have to take additional medications my whole life.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 14, 2019 6:44 PM |
well one big myth is frequent sex prevents prostate enlargement. None of the snake oil crap works. I was on the atkins diet for about a year and ate almost nothing but meat and cheese. My PSA count shot up from 4 to 20. Eating foods that cause inflammation is a guarantee for prostate enlargement. I STRONGLY advise against eating any dairy, period, and I would limit meat. I dont have prostate cancer but I do have an enlarged prostate, which is no picnic.
The medical community makes a fortune by doing all kinds of (unnecessary) prostate surgeries and the results are usually worse than the symptoms. I am on a combination prescription drug therapy and I can pee normally now but still have an enlarged prostate. I am considering having a new proceedure done that only a few Urologists around the country are doing which is steam reduction. There is an intense steam that is inserted that does actually reduce the size of the prostate. You are given a local ansithetic and it can be done in a drs office. I am probaby going to go to mayo clinic if I have the proceedure done. I am in my mid 60 s fyi,.

Doctors sometimes include “anecdotal” advice.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 14, 2019 8:43 PM |
The best care for your prostate is a yearly Digital Rectal Exam (DRE). That is it. If you do happen to develop Bening Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) there are plenty of medications that will help with that, but you have to use them as directed to actually obtain the clinical studies results. D not take it whenever you feel like it or stop when you think are better, and then complain it doesn't work. Prostate cancer is a whole different thing, but it is actually one of the easiest cancers to treat and has an excellent prognosis if it detected on early stages and treated diligently before metastasis (this means getting your yearly finger up the bum, which is not really an issue for most of us, eh?). So yeah take the herbal supplements if you want, but dont put faith in them. Results are unpredictable and the pharmacology of these products is not consistent (due the way these supplements are produced, which is not standardized).

R48, I’m recovering from the ‘steam reduction’ procedure right now.
Been catherized for 3 days and counting the hours for another 4 days to have it removed.
The meds like “flowmax” don’t work for everyone. Well, lets just say that yes, they improved my flow, but I passed out twice while on it. The second time, I broke my arm on the way down. Theres another drug, I can’t remember the name, but one of the side effects was “mild insomnia”. Yeah, if you consider not sleeping for 3 days “mild”. Plus the retro-grade ejaculation - which was odd.
So rather than do TURP, or the newer green laser surgery, or the “urolift” which is akin to stapling your prostate to make it narrower on each side - I went for the steam procedure called “Rezüm”. It’s supposed to have a lesser “down time” than the others.
I’m 55, no other health issues to speak of, and jerk off several times a week. I asked my urologist about frequent sex resulting in smaller prostates and he chuckled.

Here's some info on what happens after a prostatectomy. I don't think it's as bad as it used to be due to new surgical procedures that save a lot of the nerves they used to not be able to. Looks like there's a period of up to a year of some erectile dysfunction, but it's not forever. And then there's the dry orgasms. But the man can still have orgasms.

Also kegels and reverse kegels. Though if you overdo reverse kegels you can end up with a leaky prostate (you'll leak prostatic fluid into your underwear and bedding and it smells like cum). But kegels and reverse kegels, done properly and in correct proportion, are great for nice super hard erections.

Years ago, when I was being treated for prostatitis, my regular doctor wasn't available to see me for a follow-up appointment so I was referred to a fellow doctor in the practice. He was younger than I, very polite, mild-mannered, reserved. He explained to me that I had what used to be called monk's disease and that I "needed to evacuate my prostate on a more regular basis". It took me a second to realize he was politely telling me to jack-off more often. I burst out laughing and he turned beet red. It's been 20 years and I will never forget how he phrased that.

R95 First of all, don't be embarrassed. Don't you know where you are! This place is like the men's room in a mid-western truck stop! It's disgusting, nausiating, you feel gross when you leave, and you don't know why keep coming back! BUT THAT'S WHY WE LOVE IT!
Second, I did have a similar issue, but it was caused by ADD medication. When I took adderall, I literally couldn't get an erection for 8 hours. It's great of your suffering from sex addiction, but it sucks if you're horny 28 year old!
But the residual effect was orgasms that weren't.... well..... satisfying. Check your meds for sexual side effects?

It’s frustrating. My PSA is 4 - but I have a cancer gene that says I’m likely to have prostate cancer with a low PSA that is extraordinarily deadly. Doctor and insurance won’t do biopsy because it’s only 4 - even though a geneticist said that having a PSA of 4 with my cancer gene means I need a cancer biopsy. So I sit and wait for my PSA finally go up to 5-6 - until it’s too late and cancer spread.

Saw palmetto works for me, but like so many things, what works for one does not necessarily work for all. Same with jerking off or otherwise "evacuating your prostate" (thanks R93) often. I don't think anyone did it more than me and i still had an enlarged prostate that looking back, started more than 10 years ago.
I had the rezum procedure a few months back and though there have been a few complications, I'm peeing like a 20 year old again.

My partner had his laparoscopic robotic prostatectomy today and was up and walking around when i left the hospital tonight.. The dr felt that based on what he saw from the mri/biopsy and from what he saw when they opened him up they were able to spare some nerves on both sides . He's sore but already walking around, followup with pathology results and catheter removal is next week. There is pain right now but not unmanageable supposedly going home tomorrow or Friday.

Just had my third biopsy... Now I get to enjoy the ejaculatory blood fountain for the next 3 weeks or so.
Anyhow, it's cancer - but - not the kind that needs treatment, just the kind that requires lots and lots of endless blood tests, biopsies, MRIs, bone and CT scans.

"I have been having prostate ultrasounds exams every couple years. It's painful!"
Why is it painful? Are you sure you are not having it in conjunction with a prostate biopsy, which can be painful? The prostate MRI can help avoid the biopsy.

R99: R91 here. My surgery date is October 22...the first available. I hope the next six weeks fly by.

I wank twice a day, and if I’m lucky, every now and then a kind gentleman will stop by and give it a massage with his willy. x

R109 prostates can be treated with Non-evasive RadioSurgery. Look for another doctor.

If you are about to have your prostate removed, it's important that your Dr. put you on Viagra before the surgery, gets the blood flowing down there, I was happy to wake with with a major hardon about 4 weeks after surgery. I have intense orgasms, just don't shoot, although plenty of precum.

What's your age r112?
by Anonymous | reply 113 | September 13, 2019 11:05 AM |
An older gentleman that I was dating back when I was 17 warned me that, so a man gets older, he really needed to make an effort to keep his prostate healthy. He was very clear that having orgasms was important for keeping the prostate flexible and healthy, and warned that one could develop prostatitis if one didn't keep it exercised. So I jerk off pretty regularly, and also take on OTC supplement with zinc, selenium, saw palmetto, lycopene, cranberry extract and pumpkin seed oil. I started taking just plain saw palmetto years ago when I noticed I was having a little troubling peeing sometimes, and it helped. I can come several times a day, and I'll be turning 58 soon.

r120 Does that mean no orgasm for 6 MONTHS? I would go insane!
Imagine how productive I could be. I wonder what I could accomplish if I didn't have an orgasm for 6 months.
Fuck that. I want to blow right now!!!

R122 - that’s one of the small joys of old age. Not being so obsessed with ejaculating constantly frees up a lot of space for other thoughts and activities. At least there is that.

My grandfather had prostrate cancer, my father (54) has recently been diagnosed with prostate issues and has an appointment with a urologist this week. I figure I’m destined to have issues if I live long enough.

I lost my prostate in October 2019, after laparoscopic robotic surgery to cure my prostate cancer. I am 58. No complications, and I am, so far, cancer-free.

r58, how often did you cum the years prior to diagnosis? Isn't cumming supposed to help ward off prostate cancer?

People who eat low glycemic diets (think Okinawa diet) have little to none of the cancers we have from a western diet. As soon as the same society adopts a western diet the cancer rates increase as well as arthritis, dementia and heart disease. Sugar is a toxin, but the inflammation from breads and other blood sugar spiking carbs are damaging as well.

Got BPH? Flomax (Tamsulosin) is your friend.
My internist is gay. The first time he did my digital prostate exam, he had me drop trou, bent me (gently, professionally) over the exam table, snapped on the rubber glove, stuck out his index finger and said, "Before I was a doctor, I had to buy them flowers and candy and dinner before guys would let me do this." Clearly not the first time he'd used that line, but I laughed so hard that it didn't hurt at all.
A friend who enjoyed it far more than me said he was disappointed it was no longer part of the annual physical examination - they rely on the PSA tests now as they're more diagnostic.

Despite years of frequent ejaculations, PC claimed my prostate. I miss reliable erections and my semen most of all. And, I pretend to be a bottom. But, I’m alive.

I would love to know how to prevent prostate cancer. PSAs are apparently almost useless for aggressive PC. And insurance won’t cover prostate ultrasounds unless PSA is high. How did you guys find out you had prostate cancer?
by Anonymous | reply 143 | July 14, 2020 4:34 AM |
R47 My husband had the URO Lift and it only worked for a few months, it could just be him though everybody is different. He's back to the same old difficulty urinating.

R143 PSA test. First test was 8 (twice the acceptable range.) Now 4 years later it's 32. I have been on active surveillance for 4 years with yearly MRI and fusion biopsy. Both show cancer but biopsy has only found gleason 6 (low grade cancer.) Bone scans negative. Unfortunately the steadily climbing PSA is not consistent with that so I'm headed for surgery next month because the risks once PSA is over 30 is too high to continue surveillance.

Regular ejaculation is good for prostate health.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | July 14, 2020 5:26 AM |
R143: Had my robotic prostatectomy this past October. Had a PSA test last May; it was 7 or 8. Then a genetic test to predict the probability of finding cancer upon biopsy (mine was 78%). Then an MRI (June), which showed unusual areas. Then a biopsy targeted to specific areas identified in the MRI (July). Then pathology results from the biopsy (late July). Then surgery. Then PSA tests every three months for the next few years (so far, undetectable).

As an only occasional bottom (perhaps once every 6 or so weeks) I probably don't care for my prostate properly as it gets pounded into oblivion on an infrequent basis, when it's probably healthier to stimulate it more gently on a more regular basis. I don't know if there's any evidence for heavy prostate abuse being linked to any prostate cancer or enlargement issues though?
I cum on average about 3 times per week.

Thx for info on how cancer was diagnosed. Sounds like PSA is still the only way to begin diagnosis.
