These kids see themselves as being lucky to be alive to have parents that love them . And font forget those of you that are gay you was bashed once upon a time to I was against that too. Don’t make me sorry I was you need to all apologize to those kids. God isn’t done with you yet you know.

Well hon, did happy hour at lunch today?

by Anonymousreply 1June 13, 2019 9:59 PM

Could you translate that into English, please?

by Anonymousreply 2June 13, 2019 9:59 PM

Am I the only one who feels guilty when they come on I have to change the channel.

by Anonymousreply 3June 13, 2019 11:31 PM

No I like the Shriner's kids, they seem so grateful for everything they have and for the help they are getting. Now the St Jude's commercials are depressing, understandably so, cancer can be a deadly disease, but still I like how hopeful the Shriner's commercials are.

I don’t feel guilty, but you shouldn’t either. I change the channel the second I see that cringeworthy Alex. Punch and delete.

Oh, get stuffed with this adowable blanket, OP.

by Anonymousreply 6June 14, 2019 2:02 AM

OP, there's a difference between DL and other sites where people discuss things. Here, pointless bitchery is a virtue -- you don't have to like it or enjoy it or approve of it, but that is what we do here. If you don't want to participate (or at least lurk silently), please just go away.

by Anonymousreply 7June 14, 2019 2:09 AM

Unfortunately, I don't think the Shriners hospital can help the OP and his handicapped language skills...

by Anonymousreply 8June 14, 2019 3:19 AM

R8, handicapped language skills aside, OP writes like a frau. Perhaps a frau whose native language isn't English, but a frau all the same. Prissy, judgmental, humorless -- frauish to the core.

by Anonymousreply 9June 18, 2019 5:25 PM

I didn't know that Kin Shriner had kids.

by Anonymousreply 10June 18, 2019 5:28 PM

Don't be too harsh--the comma and semicolon keys on OP's laptop seem to be broken.

by Anonymousreply 11June 18, 2019 5:29 PM

Until recently the Shriners haven't tooted their own horn. . With 22 hospitals, including Mexico City and Montreal, they offer the same "No charge for treatment, travel, food, and hotels " as St. Jude. I donate to both each month,

by Anonymousreply 12June 18, 2019 5:33 PM

Oh get over yourself OP, just because I find the commercial annoying doesn't mean that I don't have sympathy for the kids and I think what the Shriners do for the kids is great. There are things I love that I can find annoying in a commercial. I also love animals but hate those commercials for the humane society where they show sad abandoned puppies. Climb down from that cross you have mounted yourself on you are a saint.

by Anonymousreply 13June 18, 2019 5:36 PM

* aren't a saint.

by Anonymousreply 14June 18, 2019 5:37 PM

Same here.

by Anonymousreply 15June 18, 2019 5:38 PM

R13, I would never give to the ASPCA or Humane Society. They have millions for TV commercials. Donate to your local shelter, my county has two.
