"Prince" Dimitri of Yugoslavia

He's a really good jewelry designer/maker. Has a fabulous eye and really knows his gems. I enjoy following him on Insta.

He's clearly gay. I also heard that he has a double life and is into the leather/S&M scene.

He's gained a little weight in the last 10 years- prior very ,very handsome; very very aloof, and yes, gay.

by Anonymousreply 5June 11, 2019 8:52 PM

How many here have had him?

by Anonymousreply 6June 11, 2019 9:46 PM

I have had him. Acapulco 1987. Las Brisas hotel.

by Anonymousreply 7June 11, 2019 10:19 PM

Could be found at any rest areas in CA. Meh!

by Anonymousreply 8June 11, 2019 10:24 PM

There is no need to put Prince in quotation marks, he's a legitimate member of the Yugoslav/Serbian royal family. Not one of the crown princes but a cousin of theirs.

by Anonymousreply 9June 11, 2019 10:35 PM

R9, Who's the current reigning monarch of Yugoslavia/Serbia? The answer: No one. That's because it was abolished. So, while I suppose this guy can still use "prince" as a courtesy, he's not on the same level as a legitimate prince from a country with a legitimate monarchy.

by Anonymousreply 10June 27, 2019 4:42 PM

OP: Just like they call you "Miss" as a courtesy, Prince Dimitri is a goddamn prince.

by Anonymousreply 11June 27, 2019 8:40 PM

He's no Marie of Romania.

by Anonymousreply 12June 27, 2019 8:44 PM

You can't be a prince from a country with no monarchy. Other than a courtesy title, he's no prince.

by Anonymousreply 13July 9, 2019 10:44 PM

Yugoslavia is a made up country that didn't exist until 1918 and doesn't exist today so I don't know how anyone can be a Prince of that country. Maybe a Prince of one of the countries that made up Yugoslavia. Wikipedia says he is related to every royal family in Europe (aren't they all) and over 1000th in line of succession to the British throne. So you are saying there is a chance?

by Anonymousreply 14July 9, 2019 11:30 PM

R14, I think it's all about pretense, isn't it? As you said, Yugoslavia doesn't exist.

by Anonymousreply 15July 10, 2019 1:07 AM

Does anyone here know this "prince"?

by Anonymousreply 16July 15, 2019 4:54 PM

Good designer? This looks like it would snag on everything.

He seems insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 19August 8, 2019 9:35 PM

Did he know "Princess" Lee Radziwell?

by Anonymousreply 20August 8, 2019 9:41 PM

Doesn’t he hang at Townhouse in NYC?

by Anonymousreply 21August 8, 2019 9:43 PM

"...the size of their pearls and lavish Tiara’s..."

Oh, dear, "Prince" Dimitri.

by Anonymousreply 22August 8, 2019 9:45 PM

He says he's related to Empress Sissi of Austria! Didn't I see her on a float in this year's pride parade?

by Anonymousreply 23August 8, 2019 9:48 PM

Id totally wear that ring R17 ! I like his stuff, very eye catching.

by Anonymousreply 24August 8, 2019 9:57 PM

People who retain titles of non-existent monarchies are trashy.

by Anonymousreply 25August 8, 2019 10:25 PM

[quote]He's clearly gay. I also heard that he has a double life and is into the leather/S&M scene.

OH MY GOD. SHOCKING!!!! SCANDALOUS!!!

by Anonymousreply 26August 8, 2019 10:51 PM

Now, THIS is my idea of a gay prince! Fabulous! And adopted to boot!

R27, I hadn't heard of this one. Thanks for sharing.

by Anonymousreply 28August 14, 2019 1:34 PM

The remaining French aristocrats are the most fun because they do not give a crap but retain French haughtiness, which is acceptable in all French people.

by Anonymousreply 29August 14, 2019 1:45 PM

[quote]Pamphilj

How is a name that ends with "lj" an Italian one? What part of eastern Europe is he from?

by Anonymousreply 30August 14, 2019 2:09 PM

Also "ph" ?

by Anonymousreply 31August 14, 2019 2:09 PM

Here is the Italian website, r30/r31.

The prince was adopted, for in London. Did you read the article?

by Anonymousreply 33August 14, 2019 2:33 PM

*born in London

by Anonymousreply 34August 14, 2019 2:33 PM

"The Pamphili family (often with the final long i orthography, Pamphilj) was one of the papal families deeply entrenched in Catholic Church, Roman and Italian politics of the 16th and 17th centuries."

by Anonymousreply 35August 14, 2019 2:42 PM

His stuff is...unusual. I’ll grant him that.

I'd rather own this than have a tacky ring.

by Anonymousreply 37August 14, 2019 2:51 PM

R36 is that a Prince Albert gem?

by Anonymousreply 38August 14, 2019 2:51 PM

R38, it's a giant amethyst that's set on a ring so that it sort of dangles from the setting. He calls it a "lazy ring".

by Anonymousreply 39August 14, 2019 4:39 PM

R38 OMG, You might be right. It doesn’t look like it’s designed to be worn on a hand.

by Anonymousreply 40August 14, 2019 4:43 PM

Sure it is, r39.

by Anonymousreply 41August 14, 2019 5:50 PM

Well that's what his Instagram post said, R41

by Anonymousreply 42August 18, 2019 9:36 PM

I don’t like his designs. But he’s related to almost every royal House in Europe, so there’s that.

by Anonymousreply 43August 18, 2019 9:38 PM

But still, he's not a real prince. A real prince has a royal designation from a "real" country. Yugoslavia no longer exists, so he can't be a prince of nowhere.

by Anonymousreply 44August 18, 2019 9:40 PM

of course you can. Royals recognize the titles of defunct Houses. For example, HSH Princess Caroline of Monaco became HRH The Princess of Hanover, despite Hanover not being a county since the mid 19th century.
