Gavin McCleod seems closeted and gay. He became an “ambassador for Christ.” My gaydar is not the best, but it’s kind of obvious to me.

Asner most definitely has been rumored to be gay for a long time. I first read about it like 10 years ago. Although I guess in his case bisexual is the correct term if he was married twice to women, unless they were total bearding arrangements.

R67 Yes he’s Jewish and comes from an Orthodox Jewish family. So, there could have been an argument to say he was gay, but married very young to a Jewish girl encouraged by his family back in the 1940’s, when times were different.

However he married at 30 (which wasn’t young back in the 1950s) and married again at 60 odd. Both marriages produced children. This really isn’t someone who is struggling in the closet! In April I had dinner with the 50 year old former partner of a friend.

I'm a Kinsey 4 or 5 myself and even I got close to starting a straight family with my girlfriend in my late teens. Being with women is totally different than being with men and I absolutely get why some bi and gay men do it... and then have male lovers on the side or later become exclusively gay. But still, we were quite happy together and some other time or some other place we probably would've gotten married, had a few kids and lived a content enough life.
