I guess Instagram makes more money when I visit and use the app more frequently so they can show me new ads every time I visit. With the activity tap, I usually checked the app several times a day to see what my friends and people I followed were up to. Now without the activity tap, no visible likes and no updated followers lists, I will hardly visit the app anymore. I just wait till I get a notification that a friend posted a new picture or story. I also enjoyed looking who liked or commented on a post. I guess we'll all spend less time on the app now.

But Instagram was apparently concerned that looking at likes and followers was bad for our mental health. Facebook really knows how to piss of users and ruin social media for people (with all their privacy options and blocking key features that people enjoyed).

A lot of celebs under 35 don't use Twitter except to RT promotional links. Twitter is fast becoming the new Facebook. TikTok is where the under 25 set is now, and 25-35 is on Instagram, where as people have already pointed out, you can't see shit anymore unless you stalk the posts of people the person follows to see if you can see some liked content. A lot of the celebs I used to follow would like content from people they weren't following daily. From there you could see the kinds of hashtags they followed sometimes too. You can't see any of that anymore.
