I liked Procol Harum better than those two - but they were only good for a short time, their 70s albums had one or two good songs at best.

But in general with all these groups they only had a very short shelf life and lived on (& on) in the reflected glory of their better days.

Zeppelin. You're kidding with this question, right? They're light years ahead of Pink Floyd, which is tripping music. I do like some of their songs but maybe 3-4 of them.

Agree that Pink Floyd v. Led Zeppelin is like comparing apples and oranges. However, given a choice, I'd rather listen to Pink Floyd at this point in my life. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" comes to mind as a beautiful song.

The guys in Pink Floyd wrote their own songs. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant plagiarized everything.

I'm just not a LZ fan. I like a few of their songs, like them a lot, but can't work up an interest in most of their stuff. Floyd, on the other hand, made sever albums that are genius from beginning to end.

One groupie story I read about Robert Plant is that when he kisses a groupie, he passes a big glob of spit into the girl's mouth. I've never forgotten this story in a book I read decades ago, written by Liv Tyler's mother, a groupie who fucked everyone.

One of the many reasons I prefer Floyd is that every time I look at Robert Plant on film, my evil-dar goes off. I mean, my spidey-senses tingle and something deep in my subconscious goes "BEWARE BEWARE THIS MAN IS FUCKING EVIL". I mean it was Page who was fucking little girls, but Plant is the one who repels me.

I don't get that sense from any other musician. In fact none of the members of Floyd make any sort of strong impression on me, I just like the music.

Pink Floyd without any hesitation. You can live a life by their work. Dark Side has nourished me since my teens, and the Wall when life got a bit messier. The movie of the Wall is also fantastic. I am not as crazy about the post Waters stuff.

Was never a big Zeppelin fan though they had some great moments ("Goin' to California" is sublime). Pink Floyd is more my speed but can only take their later material in small doses. I still say there is no better musical experience than laying in bed with "Echoes" playing through headphones.
