Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers look amazing for their age

He's 89 and she's 76, but they each look decades younger. She's even had lung cancer. How do they do it?

I realize they've have plastic surgery, but it was VERY good plastic surgery, especially for him. It's rare to see facelifts that look this good on men.

Thanks for this, OP. I was just looking at "Hart to Hart" the other day. Love them.

But you should see the pictures hidden in the attics.

by Anonymousreply 2June 2, 2019 5:19 PM

Op, that cover is filtered and shopped to death. I am sure they look nothing like that in real life

by Anonymousreply 3June 2, 2019 5:32 PM

He's the youngest 89 year old I've ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 4June 2, 2019 5:35 PM

I so wanted to be Stefanie Powers as a young gayling. Loved her.

by Anonymousreply 5June 2, 2019 5:36 PM

It's obvious they both have had plenty of work.

Robert is a well-known Hollywood homosexual. Is Stephanie a professional beard? Was she bearding for William Holden also? Which would make William a fruit as well?

DISCUSS!

Stefanie aged a lot better than Jill St. John, even though Jill was much prettier as a young woman. Jill is 78.

Good plastic surgery leaves you recognizable. This plastic surgery is good news/bad news. Good news, you don't have wrinkles, bad news, you don't look like yourself anymore. And more bad news, you don't look better than you used to either

I consider this bad plastic surgery

So, I'm a huge fan of the show and couldn't get enough of their on-screen chemistry. Lots of people seem to agree and still like the show a lot. And yet - the show lasted only five years. That doesn't sound like a lot for a show that had and still has such a loyal audience. Why was it cancelled after just five years?

R63, looking back (and going just on memory), I seem to recall that "Hart to Hart," which was usually a top 15 or 20 show during its first four seasons, had its previous lead-in, "Nine to Five" (based on the movie) taken away by ABC and replaced by the late, great Madeline Kahn's sitcom, "Oh, Madeline," which was a critical and ratings disaster. Unfortunately, because "Madeline" was a flop, it was also a ratings drain on "Hart," which saw its numbers plummet as a result. (They were also against NBC's powerhouse Tuesday night lineup, which included "A-Team" and "Remington Steele.") Anyway, "Hart to Hart" could never recover and so ABC pulled the plug on both them and "Madeline."

On a rather strange side note, I also remember a bit of chatter at the time that viewers had a negative reaction to Stefanie Powers' new haircut, preferring the more voluminous hair she had had in the previous seasons, and that that also contributed to the ratings decline. Take that for what you will.

by Anonymousreply 68June 3, 2019 5:10 AM

Madeline Kahn always ruins everything.

by Anonymousreply 69June 3, 2019 5:16 AM

For what it's worth, this People article from 1984 says the the ratings had fallen sharply against the "copycat" competition Remington Steele.

by Anonymousreply 78June 3, 2019 3:12 PM

People think that ' splendour' was like Onassis' s yacht. It's actually a tiny boat. It's impossible not to know where everybody is. And the timeline is wrong. They found her at dawn. Rigor mortis hadn't taken place yet = she had been dead for less than an hour. He didn't put the down jacket on her to sink her. It was an act of remorse . He coudn't bear to put her dead body in the freezing water just in the night gown.

by Anonymousreply 81June 3, 2019 6:33 PM

Aww, isn't that sweet, R79. So a supposed sociopath who supposedly killed his wife in cold blood possessed the supposed ability to empathize with the corpse so he tenderly placed the coat on his dead wife's body before dumping the body in the water. Do you fantasists and conspiracy theorists even hear yourselves? Well, do you?

by Anonymousreply 82June 3, 2019 7:57 PM

Hé didn't kill her in cold blood. They were out of their mind boozed and quaaluded up. He went into a drunken rage fit that ended in her being irresponsive in the water, then quaaludes prevented any of them to quickly evaluate the situation and before they knew it, she was dead.

by Anonymousreply 83June 3, 2019 8:01 PM

Really, R83? And I suppose the authorities drew blood from Wagner and Walken (sounds like a law firm or a vaudeville act) many hours after the fact to determine what they had ingested the evening before? Please.

by Anonymousreply 84June 3, 2019 8:13 PM

Well, it's a known fact that the mafia still controled Hollywood completely at the time. Natalie had always been Sinatra 's plaything since she was a teenager, and they kept the dirty laundry within the family. Neither Wagner nor Walken were ever detained and tested, as should have been the case in regular circumstances. Natalie' s tests showed her alcohol level was still through the roof 12 hours after they had left the restaurant in Catalina. À long with ' prescription drugs'. The captain confessed he had provided them with tons of quaaludes that Wagner had never tried before. It's an established fact that there was a martha/George-like marathon fight that night on board. Furniture was smashed. The only mystery in this case is ' why the husband not in jail ? '

by Anonymousreply 85June 3, 2019 8:26 PM

Natalie Wood was very petite, yet she was able to accommodate legendary huge cocks like Frank Sinatra’s and John Ireland's.

by Anonymousreply 86June 3, 2019 8:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 87June 3, 2019 9:09 PM

by Anonymousreply 88June 3, 2019 9:17 PM

by Anonymousreply 89June 3, 2019 9:23 PM

The boozy cunt had it coming

by Anonymousreply 90June 3, 2019 9:35 PM

So Wagner ingested quaaludes for the first time, became this enraged monster and began beating the shit out of Natalie? More like he was drunk off his ass took the quaaludes (according to the oh, so trustworthy captain) and then proceeded to fall the fuck asleep. She was drunk and pissed off at him and being drunk and pissed off at him she decided to show him! She left the boat tried to board the dinghy and the rest, as they say, is history.

by Anonymousreply 91June 3, 2019 9:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 106June 4, 2019 7:25 AM

Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice was her last big feature, she didn't do anything for another four years and then some tv in the '70s and the films, The Last Married Couple in America, Meteor and then Brainstorm. People love to make up stories. If there was any real evidence Robert Wagner "killed" Natalie Wood it would have long since come to light. Same with Marilyn Monroe. If there had been any hard evidence that she'd been murdered (by JFK, or RFK, or the CIA, or the Mob, or her psychiatrist) it would have been revealed long ago.

Some trivia. Natalie Wood was actually in the running to play the lead in the famous tv mini-series. She was the casting director's first choice for Sybil, but the screenwriter turned Wood down.

by Anonymousreply 131December 12, 2019 5:18 PM

Wagner was discovered by talent agent Henry WIllson, who also represented Rock Hudson and Tab Hunter. Willson sold gay gossip on Hunter to bury stories about Hudson, but was later, himself, outed. He was abandoned by clients before dying of cirrhosis and being buried in a then-unmarked grave that now reads "Star Maker".

[quote]The handsome young [Hudson] soon caught the eye of Hollywood Talent agent, Henry Willson. Willson was responsible for the “Beefcake” craze of the 1950’s and 60’s, he was notorious for “scouting talent” at gay bars all over Los Angeles.

[quote]His stable of hot young male actors included Guy Madison,Troy Donahue, Tab Hunter, Chad Everett, Robert Wagner, Rory Calhoun and Doug McClure. Roy was quickly renamed Rock Hudson and he would become Henry Willson’s most successful creation.
