God, the Sam Smith comments show way more about the people who wrote then than about Sam.

The truth is Sam is openly gay from the beginning of his career, he is not handsome but he became very successful anyway. That's not something that happens everyday. And yes, he seems very insecure but he doesn't seem a bad guy or a user or a disrespectful diva like others who had the same level of his success (or even less).

And Brandon was already famous (yes, he is famous to only a segment of population, but he was famous anyway) when he dated him. And there are a lot of reasons to date someone, and looks are far from being the most important (maybe they are very important for a hook up, but not that much for a date).
