Nepotism does SO MUCH more than helping you get a foot in the door. It gives you a lot of advantages once you are in the door and it continues for as long as your parental connection has power. This is not a one time situation where someone had a little help, it is obvious to so many who don't have a father like Lester Holt that all the hard work in the world will still yield very limited opportunities because Stefan and others who have parental connections will breeze past you and take the job, most everyone else gets the crumbs.

I work at NBC NY and I can tell you the higher up execs love Stefan and he is not going anywhere. Someday when his Daddy retires we will see if he really is that special, he will be flying without a net.

Retired WGN newsreader Jim Jordan's daughter is an anchor on the WLS 10 o'clock news; late WLS sportsclown Tim Weigel has his kiddies running a "news" company he founded; and WTTW / PBS talking head Phil Ponce has something like eight or nine spawn working in TV.

And virtually EVERYBODY got his or her job on their own merit. Of course.
