When is bug eyed Bea going to land a man???
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 22, 2019 10:16 PM |
Hasn't Bea been dragging someone around lately?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 22, 2019 10:18 PM |
R2 yes she has and he isn’t bad looking but she better close the deal quickly.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 22, 2019 10:20 PM |
Lots of bug-eyed Bea and her Italian paramour in parts 59 and 60.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 22, 2019 10:21 PM |
Harry just broke the Queen's 'you must date him/her for five years before marriage' rule and that did not work out well.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 22, 2019 10:23 PM |
Poor Bea - she has acquired that Desperate Older Sister look, despite having that caddish Lothario by her side.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 22, 2019 10:23 PM |
Bea's bf is a grifter who only got his foot in the door because his mother married a pal of David Cameron. He left his girlfriend and 1 year old child to try and become a member of the BRF. Good luck Bea.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 22, 2019 10:25 PM |
R5 And when did HM tell you about this rule?
Because her son and Heir dated his future bride for perhaps five months and according to Diana, in that time they actually met only 13 times.
And her Spare didn't date Sarah Ferguson for more than a year at most.
Only William seems to have taken her advice.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 22, 2019 10:25 PM |
I read about the rule, I don't remember where but you can certainly Google it if you're really interested.
The five year rule was a reaction to Diana and Fergie and came along after them. I suppose a simpler "know them for five years" wouldn't do because they knew Diana's family her whole life.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 22, 2019 10:30 PM |
It's a good rule in general tbh
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 22, 2019 10:33 PM |
R9 - Well, then, why didn't she tell Harry if he wanted to marry a divorced 36 year old C-list American actress who wouldn't have looked at him without that HRH in front of his name after one year of a long-distance relationship to stuff it instead of caving in and giving her blessing?!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 22, 2019 10:35 PM |
I don't know R11, maybe she tried. Her Majesty does not confide in me on this or any other matter. I only know what I read.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 22, 2019 10:39 PM |
R9 MM was too old to have waited 5 years for a maybe and she must have said it in no uncertain terms. Also the note that Harry sent out announcing their relationship to the world sealed their fate.

That is good advice. Also, you should live with someone before marrying, too. And be married a while before you fucking PROCREATE with them, for fucks sake. I mean, understand Meghan had to get that insurance policy before her eggs spoiled, but generally...
Beatrice is going to be the female Harry. He ditched his baby mama, Bea. That’s not good.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 22, 2019 10:52 PM |
Hard luck, bug eyed Bea, isn't there some ugly Earl who would be nice to her lying around Grat Britain somewhere? There must be one.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 22, 2019 10:57 PM |
I think Bea knows what he is and doesn't care. He's handsome and probably a good lay, and clearly fertile. In her set, it's better to be divorced with kids than a childless spinster.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 22, 2019 10:58 PM |
I've just never understood why Eug and Bea, with the best seamstresses in the world at their disposal not to mention lingerie companies with Royal Warrants, can't seem to find good foundation garments and well-fitted clothes.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 22, 2019 11:00 PM |
If Harry can marry the American divorcee, I don’t see any reason why Bea can’t marry this grifter. Bea, get a ring on your sausage finger pronto!

Edo with his toddler and jilted wealthy and brilliant partner is a messy affair - he is not just dumping a partner but he seems to be abandoning his child in order to social climb.
Poor Bea - haste makes waste.

Beatrice wants to marry super hot multimillionaire Edo and who can blame her? He is a divorcee and has a toddler son. There are pictures of him at the Buckingham Palace do from today.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 22, 2019 11:21 PM |
I honestly think she could do worse. At least he seems to have real assets of his own, unlike many other married-in Royals. Even if it doesn't work out, she'll get something in the divorce so she's not completely dependent upon Andrew's largess.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 22, 2019 11:23 PM |
If I were Bea I’d present hole furiously. The clock is ticking and her younger sister will be with child soon.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 22, 2019 11:23 PM |
R33, Emma is more doe/cow-eyed...may not be everyone's cup of tea but they're lovely. Poor Bea is pop-eyed and hasn't learned in her decades of life, how best to play them up. Doesn't help she constantly looks like someone set a firecracker off behind her.
Really, being a Princess is useless if you don't use the resources at your disposal to look your best. Even Princess Not Bloody Likely has been able to hook two separate husbands AND sleep with Camilla's ex-husband at some point (allegedly), so why Beatrice is struggling, I have no idea. Unless the prospect of Fergie being your MIL is scaring men even further away.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 22, 2019 11:29 PM |
R39 - Oh, Bea has a bit of time. There probably are decent men out there who would appreciate her but I'll bet she isn't interested in them. Bea wants a certain kind of husband. She longs for what she isn't, so she can prove to herself and the world that she can get that. Her sister doesn't seem to have that problem, and married a regular sort of fellow. It's not an uncommon longing among women who doubt themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 22, 2019 11:29 PM |
I must be the only person who likes Pippa's dress (minus the sash). I'm aghast, though, how such a young woman with such small bosoms walks around with such low hangers. Who does she think she is? Mamie Eishenhower?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 22, 2019 11:31 PM |
I love this quote from another board. Sums up Meghan's dilemma perfectly. You can't tell the UK press (and therefore public, by extension) that they don't matter because they've hurt her feelings, then run and suck up to the American media. She's a UK princess and like it or not that's her JOB. The US opinion doesn't matter at this moment.
[quote] Her job is “Princess of the UK”. Popularity in America is fine, but she’s not in a position to tell the British press and all of Great Britain to go suck it. She and Harry and their communications team really need to address the problems at home. Like it or not, they need to work with the British press to end the cycle of negativity that is undercutting everything Meghan does.
[quote]While holding a grudge against the British press might feel justified, it’s not going to make anyone any happier.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 22, 2019 11:33 PM |
I'll be very happy if eye candy Edo joins the BRF.
Bea and Fugenie have difficult figures to dress. Boobs, bellies, narrow shouldere, quite heavy legs, not much height.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 22, 2019 11:33 PM |
Pippa is very homely compared to Kate. She did the best she could marrying a wealthy gent. Carole “doors to manual” should open a finishing school for middle class girls looking to make bank.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 22, 2019 11:34 PM |
R42 - I didn't mind Pippa's dress but as for the low hangers, I think she has something in common with Meghan: low-PLACED on the sternum, rather than sagging. I've noticed that female members of this social set have a curious blind spot, or disregard, for the role of proper foundation garments.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 22, 2019 11:35 PM |
R46 I agree, their deportment has gone to shit. All that money and not a decent fitting brassiere in sight.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 22, 2019 11:40 PM |
It's the years of gaslighting she received re: her looks, R42. She's older now and doesn't want to dress accordingly. She's aging terribly. She was never the pretty sister, just more exuberant and sure of herself.
I always saw Kate and Pippa's dynamic as similar to Jackie O and her sister. Never understood how Lee was labeled the beauty and we're seeing that lie repeated again with Pippa. Except, Lee had the decency to understand foundation garments.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 22, 2019 11:41 PM |
R45 - Matthews looks considerably more attractive in his beard, stach, and longer hair than he used to. He used to look like the secondary male in a romance who eventually gets the girl because the A-list and better looking romantic hero turns out to be such a bastard - finally, the heroine comes to her senses, realises who the better man despite his scrawny shoulders and elongated neck . . .
Of course Pips did well out of it, but she had a go at quite a few others more brilliantly placed socially first. George Percy and Alex Loudon (not to mention Gabriella's new husband), were by far more desirable catches. Matthews by all accounts was besotted with Pippa and had to wait whilst she exhausted her visions of being the future Her Grace the Duchess of Northumberland, Mrs Loudon, etc. Finally, it was time or find herself that Extra Woman and she relented.
And she's far more attractive than Bea has ever been.

[quote]Bea's bf is a grifter who only got his foot in the door because his mother married a pal of David Cameron.
Agreed he's a grifter but in fact the two families have been good friends for decades and Bea and Edo have known each other since they were children. Those two have each other's number and nevertheless seem satisfied.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 22, 2019 11:45 PM |
R46, breasts placed low on the sternum is not an excuse for either of one of them. With their various boyfriends, I find it hard to believe they don't know their way around push-up bras, bustiers and balconet bras. That same need to present a pretty picture in the bedroom should extend to a decent silhouette in public.
They think having smaller busts means they can flop around all willy-nilly...it doesn't. It's kind of vulgar, really.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 22, 2019 11:49 PM |
R47 - You know, I have mentioned that I have friends in Denmark and that I was present once at the Opening of the Folketing and saw the royals arriving. Anyway, the friend has the DVD of the royal wedding of Mary and Frederik, and it includes the "ankommen" (arrival) of all the guests to the reception. First, I was amazed at how many horrible, horrible outfits were on view, and to see exactly the same syndrome present: absolutely no clue re proper foundation garments. Women with decolletage who never should have, women in terrible colours, women wearing elegant gowns with what appeared to be no brassieres at all who never should have left home without one . . .
I have more memory of the appalling outfits of the guests than I do of the wedding itself, although Mary looked quite beautiful.
I don't know what happens to women going to society or royal weddings. It's as if they lose all sense of objectivity whilst dressing for same.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 22, 2019 11:49 PM |
R51 - I don't disagree with you fundamentally, but I think it's the sort of vulgarity that a certain class of people think announces their imperviousness to the opinions of the herd.
One of my favourite books in youth was The Group, by the wasp-tongued Mary McCarthy. At the wedding reception that opens the novel, the richest girl in the group puts her cigarette out in her melting ice-cream, displaying, as McCarthy observes, the bad manners that only the very rich can afford. I always remembered the scene. It's a wonderful read, by the way.

Matthews looks so much better in the photo at R42 that I actually thought it was another man. He used to look very gaunt, almost sickly. I actually asked in some Pippa related thread a while ago whether he was ill. Apparently, he's an obsessed distance runner which contributes to the look.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 22, 2019 11:54 PM |
Edo Mozzi most certainly did not "grow up" with the BRF. He is an arriveste who has only known Bea for a year or two.
His stepfather, Christopher Shale, is friends with Fergie and pervie Andy. Edo's mother married Shale when Edo was in his 20's. Edo has latched on to his stepfather's social circle, for obvious reasons.
Edo is a millionaire? No proof to that. He is a brilliant social climber, though, perhaps with his mother as a role model.

1,000,000 vs 1,000,000,000.
As in a small flat in Camden vs a huge townhouse in Belgravia.
As in a small 20 foot catamaran vs a 200 foot yacht.

James Matthews operates a hedgefund. He could lose everything in the crash that's coming. It will be worse than 2008. Plus, his dad will have to stand trial for raping two underage girls.

[43] is right. Meg runs to the American media because they treat her with *uncritical acclaim*. Partly because, as one journalist (Brit based in America) wrote: the American media deem the royals merely a bunch of frivolous, drama-generating socialites who provide “light entertainment”, which is good for business. But they are not important enough to risk offending. Americans really don’t *get* that the royals actually mean something to the British people and that they have some function in government. Second, Meghan is well-shielded from criticism in the US because of her race, which is a much more fraught issue in america, and any journalist so accused would quickly fall on his feet and do penance (unlike the Brits). What I personally find most offputting is Meg and Harry’s use of the american media, to consistently *dump* on British journalists and the British people because they have refused to worship the goddess. And for that, there can ONLY be one reason. I suggest if Harkle have issues with their compatriots, let them take it up with THEM. It’s unseemly for British royals to trash their own in the foreign press just because they will have a more receptive audience. And we yanks, e cept for a handfulof idiots and people wo can cash in are really, really not interested

R46 Are you serious? women should always were proper undergarments? Seriously what fucking century are you living in. If you have small boobs why should you wear a bra, who actually gives a fuck in this day and age. Plus if you knew the aristocracy in the UK you would know that most of them don't give a hoot what they wear. They are too busy mucking around in their country piles with their hounds and horses. It's 2019 we don't need to clutch our pearls and be horrified at the site of floppy tits.
As R52 said a lot of European Aristos have their tits flopping around, they generally don't care, look at Queen Daisy's teeth too, it's not like the Danish royals can't afford a dentist, it's they just don't care about shit like that. On a side note, I had hopes that MM would dress like Mary as they have a similar body but alas it was not to be. Mary IMO is one of the most stylish Royals around and a foreigner that had to fit in with new family and a new very difficult language and she did it perfectly. If only MM had followed the path of her European counterparts who have married into royalty, some who had pretty sordid pasts and yet have shut up, done the job and come out of it with respect and admiration.

'As in vacationing in Ibiza vs vacationing in Mustique'
Ibiza is a 2 hr flight from the UK and really isn't considered a destination for millionaires. Mustique is just another Caribbean island. Everyone in the know is avoiding the Caribbean because of the seaweed problem.
A better comparison would be 'vacationing in Mustique vs vacationing in the Maldives.'

I think Edo will do just fine. I think he’ll be grateful at his good fortune in marrying in, and any misbehavior will be discreet. He’ll probably act very royal, and be one of Meghan’s worst critics. I owe the dunce R130 a more detailed explanation.
The Count of Monte Cristo is a fictional character from the novel written by Alexander Dumas.
So of course, it is highly unlikely that the future HRH Prince Beatrice has any type of relationship with the son of a fictional character.

by Anonymous | reply 149 | May 23, 2019 2:04 AM |
Titles go through the father almost always, so know. That seems to be the fashion with the minor Royals to eschew titles for their offspring these days--even Harry and Meghan did that, and they're reasonably high up the food chain. It might also be quiet orders from Prince Charles not to burden the public with too many erroneous princes and princesses and dukes and such. We've come a long way from the days of Earl Snowden.
Andrew would have been wise to style his daughters Lady Eugenie and Beatrice, as Edward did with Louise. It's rather silly to have them dragging around Princess titles in this day and age, when they aren't even working Royals.

Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow’d to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

Victoria had the famous Hanoverian bug eyes. In current generations, they seem limited to Freddie Windsor and Beatrice, but they've been around since George I. R150 I agree about the Princess titles for the York girls, especially since they have reached adulthood, but they were entitled to them through the 1917 Letters Patent, as are the Wessexes. I suspect that Andy had a case of the green eyed though, and it would never have occurred to him to eschew the titles. I also think that George V probably didn’t envision how much life would change in the next hundred years, and that some of the British Royals would be marrying out, which would have been anathema to him.

Remember though the York girls were born in 1988 and 1990... the Queen Mother was still alive, Charles and Diana had not yet reached maximum implosion, Windsor Castle hadn't yet caught fire and the great British public hadn't rebelled against paying for the repair bill.
The point being, 1992 was almost like BC/AD for the modern monarchy. Everything started to change and adapt rapidly from that point forward (with another 9 on the Richter scale in 1997.) So when they were made princesses it was very much business as usual with regard to how things were done within the royal family. It was getting top heavy on tradition, but hadn't quiet tipped. Then the annus horribilis, followed by the rewrite of Candle in the Wind. That's when things started to be done differently. The Wessex children, with their comparatively simpler status, were born in 2003 and 2007. And yes, I know, Princess Anne but she did everything her own way.

[quote]If only MM had looked at how Mary fitted in to the Danish Family so well.
One thing that's always puzzled me is how much Mary was/is hated by some royal watchers. I can't remember if it was only one website (Royal Dish?) or if the feeling was pervasive, but these folks went absolute batshit on her. (I know this because we discussed it here on DL) What was so odd is that she didn't have a "past," is university educated, worked to support herself in respectable white collar jobs that don't require a casting couch, apparently didn't have family baggage, made the effort to learn an incredibly difficult language, and didn't pull any attention-grabbing stunts. Their favorite term of derision was "bogan." I wonder if they've let up now that she is a hardworking asset.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | May 23, 2019 3:28 AM |

Mary didn't have baggage? See, if given time, the most tawdry of rumors can disappear. The story was she fucked the CP of Greece and his dolt counterpart from Denmark during the Olympics held in Sydney. Something about one having a hairy chest and the other not.
She chose wisely (or she didn't have anything to offer the Greek prince other than a roll in the sheets, hence settling on Pongo).

R220 So true! people were insane about Mary back in the day. In fact Royal Dish was set up with the sole purpose to abuse Mary. There was another board something blue I think and it was shut down because of the nastiness about Mary and this was before the social media explosion! So those crazy bitches started Royal Dish and back in the early days it was vicious, though now it is no where near as bad as it used to be. Not only was there Royal dish there where plenty of hate blogs all dedicated to Mary and her perceived bogan character. The funny thing though Mary and Fred Neve came out and accused anyone of being mean, Mary just got on with the job and lived her life and did the right thing. It's a shame MM can't do the same.

American here that is only interested in Meghan, Archie and Harry. I was interested in Andrew when he dated Koo Stark but once he stopped being rebellious I lost interest.

I’m an American who is mildly interested in Royal. Thoroughly enjoyed learning about titles and tiaras. Meghan interests me the most because I love a good villain and I have a grudging admiration for her grit and hustle. She’s come a long way, and I am excited to see what she does next. I think she’s just terrible but I love watching her Narc antics from afar.

So, you're admitting that you're one of the "crazy bitches" that are downright "vicious", R224? That MM should just carry on, "[live] her life" and ignore "the nastiness" you and your crew will hurl?
Glad you admitted it.
by Anonymous | reply 228 | May 23, 2019 3:42 AM |
R117 - I'm from a century, to answer your question, in which practical realities should govern wardrobe selections at a royal wedding.
By "proper" I meant appropriate to the selected outfit not proper in terms of Victorian morality.
If the lines of your beautiful gown are ruined by failing to wear the appropriate foundation garments, you have committed an aesthetic faux pas and moreover wasted your money.
The correct foundation garments ensure that you wear the gown rather than it wearing you.
And we really are tired of being lectured by would-be prefects here.
by Anonymous | reply 229 | May 23, 2019 3:43 AM |
^ I think the point was rather if MM would just buckle down and do her job for the country, rather than her own advancement and self aggrandizement, the nastiness will fade.
Is it tough being a genius?

R221 I just googled Princess Mary Bogan and found one of the old blogs. I vaguely remember someone called Hester as the meanest one and I think you are right she was Australian and either knew Mary or has some vague connection to her. Incredibly nasty and good to see Mary rose above it all.

Are you trying to tell us you think premarital sex is "baggage?"
by Anonymous | reply 233 | May 23, 2019 3:52 AM |
No, R230, that's the problem...even if MM did those things, you'd remain a cunt. You literally exposed yourself as a hateful troll and now want to backtrack.
She just got married and gave birth in the span of a year. No one has seen much of her in public and you saying she should buckle down and do what YOU deem necessary so you can stop cunting up a storm is ridiculous. You're a moron and so tightly wound-up in your hatred of a complete stranger, that you admitted trolling. And, are doubling-down.
It must kill you to see a man accept and wife a woman with so many obvious flaws.

I will also admit that Diana only interested me when she went rogue and Charles only in the context of his insisting on marrying Camilla. I am not interested in nice, genteel, prim and proper especially when I believe it to be fake and mostly for show. It is why I always preferred the Scarletts and Rhetts over the Melanie and Ashleys.

Good, another hypocrite at R233. Why's MM premarital personal life an issue then? If Mary can be absolved of her past with time, why is MM not afforded the same courtesy?
Your dislike is irrational. Pinpoint the main reasons and we'll likely find a similar case in the life of one of your faves.
These modern princesses are all educated, (most) held jobs and they weren't barely out of their teens getting wedded and bedded. They'd been around the block and we knew and didn't care. So, why is MM the exception to this unspoken rule?

W and W for R234. You should post on here more often. Prepare to be called a 'Megastan' by the numbskull tinhat who thinks Meghan wore a moonbump.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | May 23, 2019 4:01 AM |
R209 - Mary has one attribute that Meghan lacks: nice legs. Mary is straight-waisted like Meghan but the rest of her is easier to dress than Meghan is. I am the one who saw Mary in Copenhagen and far from a tall impression in person, I was surprised at how petite she is. She can't be more than 5'5" - she photographs tall, though. She had lovely skin, large eyes, and beautiful hair as I remember, and whilst I don't like everything she wears, most of the time she gets it right. Her wedding dress was the most unusual in design of any royal bride's in recent memory except for Pss. Anne. I thought she looked fantastic. The designer was Frank Uffe. It also fit her to perfection. Kate is much taller than Mary.

R223 - The Greek prince wasn't prince of anything - there is no monarchy any longer in Greece, his title like that of Constantine and Anne Marie and their son and his preening wife Marie Chantal, are empty farce, mostly a courtesy by other royals. Frederik, on the other hand, was the bona fide Crown Prince of charming Denmark. And as Frederik's past included the usual complement of models and minor actresses, I wouldn't say Mary was a departure from his usual habits..

r223 close re the story: Mary actually fucked around with Nikolaos of Greece, the hunkiest of the young royals at that time, when they were all in Sydney for the Olympics. He got her first, and only after she made a major play first for Felipe, who allegedly wasn't having any of her and laughed her off.
Fred had her next. Somehow, he got hooked. He kept in touch with her after Sydney, visiting her and eventually bringing her to Denmark to live. The rest is history (or herstory, whatever).

R256, MM's legs are excellent or she wouldn't have been cast in Suits for 7 years, wearing short skirts. You know that really, though.
Most of her engagements will continue to be separate from Kate but if she was truly bothered about hierarchy, she wouldn't have married Harry.

r261 posts a great question, about another semi-controversial royal (just like MEGS, currently): Marie Christine is known to be haughty about her married rank, egotistical, proud of her royal life and connections. She was actually humbly raised in Australia by her single mom and her father was supposedly a Nazi or Nazi sympathizer, so some of her hauteur might be rooted in deep insecurity from childhood.
By all accounts she's a decent mother (her kids turned out well), she seems to keep Prince Michael happy and adjusted to her downsized life at KP after having to sell the family country house a few years back. She's harmless given her low rank, but actually manages to keep her name in the press fairly well for someone so low on the BRF totem pole. That may be by design.

r269 that was the infamous story our of Sydney, I believe sold to the tabloids by Mary's pals after it became known she was with Fred up in Denmark. I remember the name of the pub they all met at: the Slip Inn. Someone in Mary's group of local Sydney pals knew someone in the royal group, and they all met up there. There were supposedly photos of the wild night out too if I recall (no not those kind of photos).
Much of this has of course been swept under the rug since then, what with the royal marriage and such.

Okey-doke. Meghan's marriage to Trevor Engelson and living situation with the Toronto chef both led to higher and better brand positioning and marketing for her. She was, apparently, living with the Toronto chef when she sent her wedding ring back to Trevor Engelson via FedEx. Engelson was the one who finagled her Suits audition. And she pursued Harry while still shacked up with said Toronto chef whilst she was asking British TV personalities for introductions to rich, eligible British males. Meghan was/is prowling for the biggest and best she can acquire. I suspect she thought the "Prince Harry" was much more solvent than previously believed. Acquisition being the better part of brand management.
You might say Mary is also a clever brand manager or even a more clever harlot manipulator, but she does not promote herself above the family she married into or think she is smarter. If Meghan were truly "smart" or "smarter" these threads would never have existed. Not at least to the extent they do now, because we had Kate hate threads to latch onto here long before anyone heard of "Meghan Markle."

I think the BRF and the British public are actually pretty forgiving if a transgressor appears to show remorse, keeps their head down and just gets on with the job, eg Sophie, Kate and Fergie. MM has had plenty of feedback over very specific things - "woke" commentary, overspending, showboating - and apart from lame PR for damage control, just carries on.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | May 23, 2019 8:05 AM |
Sophie is perhaps, the biggest and best example of this, R294. Her pow-wow with the fake, rich "Arabs" and providing promises from the RF was the biggest blow to the idea that someone could marry into the RF and still keep her "commoner" job. Oh, fucking hell, Sophie was like the worst Tory ever who had himself entrenched in British governance and even more selfish. Her education? "Sophie then trained as a secretary at West Kent College, Tonbridge.[10]" That was a big selling point of Edward's marriage -- that she actually had and would keep and support herself with a job and be a modern "Royal" female. Except she got stung just like Fergie by a newspaper's undercover op that realized her greed -- inevitably associated with the RF:
IMO, this is almost as bad as the "Black Spider Memos" as Sophie Wessex has absolutely no education or practical experience in the real world to be proclaiming herself some sort of diplomate. And yet she said so much shit and got an expensive wardrobe and Bagshot Park, too!
[quote]In the News of the World 's transcripts, the countess appears to betray strong Tory sympathies, describing it as a 'shame' if William Hague loses the election. She dismisses Gordon Brown's Budget as 'pap', criticises Labour's attempts to ban fox hunting, and accuses former Prime Minister John Major of leaking damaging royal information to distract from his political problems.
[quote]The thoughts of the countess and Harkin were secretly recorded at a lunch in London's Dorchester Hotel on 14 March. Also present was R-JH account director Brett Perkins, and two undercover 'fake sheikhs', the News of the World 's Mahzer Mahmood and photojournalist Conrad Brown.
[quote]Asked about hunting, the countess accuses Blair of not understanding countryside issues.
[quote]Sophie: 'He's ignorant of the countryside. His wife is even worse, she hates the countryside. She hates it! And because the popular vote is within the city, he's going to go with that all the time. I mean because of the foot and mouth situation they've been forced to take notice of the countryside.'
[quote]Mahmood: 'She [Cherie] seems low key.'
[quote]Sophie: 'She's an intelligent woman and I think she wanted to keep her hand in. Or maybe she didn't think her husband's government was going to last long so she'd have to go back to work anyway.'
[quote]The reporter then asks who is going to lose the forthcoming general election.
[quote]Harkin: 'The Tories.'
[quote]Sophie: 'I think the majority is too great. Labour will lose a lot of seats.'
[quote]Harkin: 'Portillo seems nice. Has a bit of panache about him, a bit of style, which Hague doesn't seem to.'
[quote]Sophie: 'It's a shame really because William is very intelligent. I think he's got real vision. But he's got this awful kind of way he talks, like that all the time [mimics Hague]. He sounds like a puppet unfortunately. When we used to see John Major he had this real problem of being quite defensive, especially at Prime Minister's question time. Also, in front of a TV camera he came across as completely wooden ... 'I have to say that I blame him, [Major] and a lot of people do, for a number of things, and he used the royal family terribly badly to cover up a lot of things they were doing. The leaks that came from Downing Street were frightening.'

R236 Mary didn't really have a past, she fucked a few guys but that is hardly scandalous. On what planet do you think Mary had it easy, she was viciously trolled all over the internet but instead of whining and acting the victim, she ignored it and it went away. All the Princesses I've named below have been harassed and bullied by the public and the media in their countries. All of them were viciously trolled online. ALL of them shut the fuck up, didn't complain and got on with their jobs and are left alone. Ironically one Princess who wasn't harassed or bullied is Princess Angela, a black woman who is greatly admired because she is not a fame whore.
Queen Letizia: a divorcee who was rumoured to be an atheist and rumoured abortion, a no no in a catholic country
Queen Maxima: her father, Jorge Zorreguieta a politician who served as Minister of Agriculture in the regime of General Jorge Rafael Videla, a military dictator who ruled Argentina who was responsible for many atrocities against civilians aprox 10,000–30,000 people were kidnapped and murdered. The Parliament of the Netherlands had to vote to approve of her marriage to WA but her father wasn't allowed attend.
Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau: after her engagement to Prince Friso, it became known that Mabel had been friends with drug lord Klaas Bruinsma. The Dutch media claimed Mabel had been the girlfriend of Klaas Bruinsma, and his former bodyguard supported the claim. Prince Friso and Princess Mabel didn’t receive permission from the government to get married so Prince Friso gave up his place in line to the Dutch throne, he was 3rd in line at the time

Bea and Eug's position at birth wasn't exactly the same as Princess Elizabeth of York's. The Prince of Wales in 1926 had no wife and no kids, and didn't seem interested in acquiring any. (Possibly couldn't have kids at all, if the mumps story is true.) It was known early on that this little girl might very well end up Queen. That was never assumed with Bea. Also, as has been pointed out, times were very different in the 20s.

R245 - In the first place, the media in those countries discussed those royal brides' pasts aplenty. Mette-Marit had to make a public speech apologising for her past mistakes, and Maxima of Holland had to make a public speech about her father's role in the regime in Argentina AND had an egg thrown at her golden coach on the way back to the palace after the wedding - it hit the window on the side she was sitting on and was immediately wiped off by the gloved hand of the "footman" who was probably a military man walking alongside the coach.
And, we did have a thread about Other European Royals in which those pasts were also discussed.
This just happens to be a thread about the BRITISH royal family, of whom the former Ms Markle is now, after hungering after just this kind of fame for years, is now a member.
If you'd like to start a new thread about Other European Royals, we'll be delighted to talk about the pasts of Mary, Maxima (a well-known European playgirl), Sofia of Sweden, etc. ,etc.
And for the record, it's not Meghan's "past" or her ambition that's so offensive, but once in, her utter inability to hide her contempt for the very people who gave her what she couldn't get for herself, the cheesy PEOPLE Magazine articles that contain material like anonymous friends dropping the Archbishop of Canterbury's name to show Meghan's deep spiritual nature, the shallow trendy philosophical twaddle, the PR wars she singlehandedly engendered with the future King of Great Britain, and her inability to hide her narcissism, her love of the limelight, and that she sees Harry and the BRF as nothing more than a stepping-stone for a personal agenda that has nothing to do with the job of representing the institution that is part of the bargain.
While her lifestyle is paid for by her British taxpayers and her husband's rich father, and her status is based on who she married, all whilst bleating about feminism.
The difference between her and Mary, Maxima, Sofia, et al., is that once in, they were smart enough to shift into the right gear. Meghan Markle can't even do that.
She's a pretentious narcissistic shallow twat. That's the problem, not the fact that as spent 15 years trying to become a global star she probably opened her legs to more men than Mary, Maixma, and Mette-Marit combined, if she thought they could get her an inch farther up the ladder she so nakedly desired to climb.

R302 - In 1926, the Prince of Wales' bachelorhood was not seen quite yet as so much of a permanence, he hadn't yet met Wallis, and while his father wasn't particularly happy about his preference for cafe society and married women, many still assumed that at some point he'd do his duty by the bloodline and marry a suitable girl, amongst whom the prime candidates were women like the beautiful Rosemary Leveson-Gower. In the event, it didn't come off (partly due to the black sheep in her family to whom Edward's father objected, a decision he probably bitterly regretted later on), although Edward was allegedly very taken with her, and she married the 3rd Earl Dudley (factoid: actress Rachel Ward is her granddaughter). She served as a nurse in WWI and was killed young in a plane crash returning from France - she had booked a flight back to England but when an earlier one became available, took that one, instead - shades of Appointment in Samarra.
It was the early nineteen thirties before everyone quietly began to see the handwriting on the wall re Edward's refusal to marry suitably and wonder about the future of the Yorks, although nothing was ever said outright - except by King George V himself, who allegedly raged, "After I am gone the boy will ruin himself in twelve months" (a startling prediction that turned out to be accurate, Edward's reign lasted only just under one year), and "I pray he will never marry and nothing will come between Bertie, Lilibet and the throne").
But none of this was that evident when Elizabeth was born in 1926. Bea's and Yuge's royal status was exactly the same as Elizabeth's at birth: granddaughters of the Sovereign in the male line, and their status as born royal princesses - had anything happened to Charles whilst William and Harry were young children, Andrew probably would have been put on notice as a potential Regent in the event something also happened to the Queen.

I don't think the "Africa Plan" will do. It appears to have disappeared as soon as it was floated.

R322 - It's missing, unless I couldn't scroll down far enough, the brooch holding the enormous pear-shaped bit cut from the Cullinan diamond. I believe HM has a ring with a huge pear-shaped diamond also cut from the Cullinan. I think the family used jokingly to call these "Granny's [Queen Mary's] chips."
There is a formal portrait of the Queen somewhere sitting in a chair, with Philip standing behind her (perhaps an anniversary photo?) wearing both the Cullinan brooch and the ring.
One can only wonder what it must be like to be the person get dressed for the photo, calmly pinning on the brooch (which requires quite a bit of backing because of the pendant's weight) and slipping on the ring.

R334 - Looking at those photos, the answer to the question posed by so many here (i.e., Why can't the York girls learn how to dress themselves?) is answered.
Re the photos of Jessica Mulroney and Meghan Markle above - they radiate the auras of the sort of third-rate poseurs that they are: virtually talentless except for ferocious social ambition and the will to work tirelessly at turning themselves into products that are so glaringly less than the sum of their individual parts.
Third-rate all the way around.
And, they look far more natural together than either one does with their respective spouses. Btw, has anyone ever SEEN a photo of Mulroney with her, er, husband?

I'm not the poster who posts about foundation garments, this is my first foray into that discussion. But with regards to bras, there is a study that suggest bras do more harm than not when it comes to sagging. Also there is something to be said for going braless or wearing so-called bralettes that are popular today, especially when you have small/ smaller breasts (A-B cups). It's more comfortable and keeps sagging at bay. Bigger breasts do sag and stretch out more due to dynamics of gravity and the physiological changes due to aging. Breast tissues that determine size are made up of fat (more in large-breasts than small) and glandular tissues that produce milk (same size more or less in all women). That's why breasts sag, it's mostly fatty tissues.
On an unrelated front, both Kate and Meghan are "slim" in the sense that they have trim figures without a lot of body fat. In Kate's case, she's still curvy with admirable hip-waist ratio even as she doesn't have huge breasts. Being shapely or curvy does not mean huge breasts, rather it has everything to do with waist-hip ratio and it's clear that Kate (from old bikini photo earlier in marriage) has this. Meghan is a bit tricky since she does have a boxy torso and no waistline. And yes, you can be curvy with preferred waist-hip ratio and have small breasts, A-B cups. Or you can have large breasts and have no curves to speak of, e.g. no discernible waist or hips. So what we're talking about is proportions, same thing goes for height. I see many here talk about height as if being tall automatically makes you well-proportioned. That's false too, I've seen plenty of tall women with too-long waists, short limbs, wide shoulders, boxy torsos, and other markers of bad proportions. On the other hand, you look at many of the professional ballet dancers in the past/ recent past and they have elongated proportions but are not super tall.
That's what makes Meghan's body so difficult to dress, the short neck, wide shoulders, and barrel-like waistless torso, and without the height to create illusion of elongation. She's not short, as in not enough to meet fashion definition of short (163 cm and under), but she doesn't have good or elongated proportions from hips upwards. Compare her body to someone who's actually petite, Bolshoi ballerina who's also performed with Royal Ballet, Eugenie Obraztsova who's all of 158 cm. She's petite with elongated musculoskeletal build who happens to also have great waist-hip ratio. She by the way is a mother to 2-year-old twins, so talk about body envy.

I take your point, R313, but I'd still argue that the 1920s with no direct heirs to the Prince of Wales is different from the 1980s with two direct heirs to the Prince of Wales, especially given the advances in medicine and security which made the premature deaths of the PoW or his sons very unlikely. However, we can certainly agree to cordially disagree!
I do think that going forwards, HRHs will only go to the children of direct heirs. It seems that even Royal dukedoms may not be a certainty except for the younger sons of direct heirs, if Archie Harrison is a sign of things to come. That will certainly jibe with Prince Charles' 'slimmed down' Royal Family. However, without titles, the ordinariness of these people becomes even more apparent, which does diminish the mystique of the BRF somewhat.

Meghan shares a body type with Judy Garland: short neck, broad shoulders, no waist, long legs. Judy looked her best during her TV show, in the sheath dresses, pencil skirts, and slim cropped pants that were in style in the early 60s. Those styles are still very much in evidence today, and Meghan would do well to adopt them. Oversized, overfussy clothes do her no favors.

Gisele Bundchen is a good example of someone lacking the waist-to-hip ratio. Like with Kate Upton, I'm sure hetero men love those big boobies, but when not she's not contorting her upper and lower body in opposite directions to give an illusion of a mid-section curve, there's no sex appeal.

I think Kate is much better at dressing her figure, and has a better figure than MM. Those brown culottes were the worst thing I've seen her in for a long time. It was the cut, not the cropped factor. It just made her waist look too long and too slim whilst being too loose/baggy on the outer thigh area. Just weird. I loved the blouse, though.
Meghan is quite pretty (and has obviously had facial work done) pretty and I don't think her skinny legs are a flaw per se, but her torso is her problem area. Short, boxy, not feminine. Her build kind of reminds of that blonde yoga guru who was palling around with Paltrow for a bit. Tracy Anderson. (photo at link)

R375 - I am the poster you are referring to, and I'm not offended by breasts I'm offended by bad dressing that ruins formal outfits.
And I didn't post the Why Doesn't Markle Dress As She Did On Suits poster - I never watched Suits. I had no idea who she was until she leaked the news that she was the future Mrs Harry Windsor.
Having seen since then photos of her in her peak Suits days, whoever that poster was, s/she's right, and not because Sparkle was wearing boob and butt pads, but because the clothes were better fitted to her figure, with better tailoring, sleeker, less fussy, and not trying to scream, "Look at me I'm a Duchess and Look how Expensive my new rags are! - And I didn't even have to pay for them! It was alledgely "Vogue" experts, to whom Diana turned in the earliest days of Princesshood for help, who persuaded her to stop trying to give herself a waist by trying to emphasise it, and move the focus to those legs.

To those who suggested Lady Collin Campbell's book, about Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, thank you. What a delightfully bitchy, snobby takedown of that old manipulative bitch! From her questionable provenance to her first pick of a husband, Edward to Bertie, the abdication, the jealousy of Wallis and Margaret, and her own widowhood, what a ball busting bitch! Megan must remind the Queen of her manipulative mother! Great read!

Say what you will about the Queen Mother, she had impeccable manners, something MM is lacking.
Someone upthread posted Jessica Mulroney’s husband is rarely photographed. Someone posted a photo of him from Jessica Mulroney’s Instagram. Ben Mulroney, the son of former PM Brian Mulroney, is a tv host in Canada, hardly invisible.

R356 What is odd about MM's legs is that her lower left leg bows backward. It could be one of the reasons she has such an awkward way of walking. She stands with her legs wide apart , which could help her stay steady while perched on her stilletos.

See I think the fallout between Harry and William started once William decided he wanted to be King. I believe just like Fergie and Diana bonded against the BRF; I think one thing both boys shared was their desire not to be King. Diana let Fergie down when she did not follow through with divorcing Charles and Harry probably feels betrayed because William actually wants to be King..
by Anonymous | reply 387 | May 23, 2019 11:35 PM |
That's possible, but Harry's an idiot if he didn't think William would embrace his responsibilities once he had children. People always get more conservative as they get older. Did he think William would abdicate and leave the burden on his preschooler son's shoulders?

[quote] See I think the fallout between Harry and William started once William decided he wanted to be King.
Whatever does this mean?
William was always destined for the role of king. It would be his by default.
For him to choose not to be king would require a proactive move on his part. Has there ever been such indication?

I believe Lady Colin Campbell also claimed that the Queen Mother (and her younger brother) was really the daughter of the family's French cook, who was used as a surrogate.
Because, with seven previous children, it was obvious that the Countess of Strathmore 1) needed two more and2) turned to the French cook. The family resemblance along the jawline of the Countess and her daughter, and the striking resemblance between Elizabeth and her older sister, Lady Rose, is simply a coincidence. By the way, at the time the book was published, Lady C. C. came in for withering criticism for publishing completely unverified and unverifiable statements such as these.

I'm the poster who recommended MM return to her Suits looks. I, too, never watched the show, but images of her from that time period are her best. Hair was styled beautifully and healthy and glossy. Makeup was lovely - not a lot of troweled on bronzer and pink lip gloss like now, both of which make her look cheap and older than she is. And the clothes fit and flattered her shape. Right now she tends to be a hot mess, which is a real accomplishment for someone who is an attractive woman. It's puzzling because all she has to do is follow what worked before. It's not rocket science.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | May 24, 2019 12:51 AM |
Was Lady Colin Campbell's book available for sale in the UK? Considering their strict libel laws...
Anyway, the rumors about the cook being the QM's biological mom could be true if their father was having an affair, which wouldn't have been unheard of for this set. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor calling her 'Cookie' had a double-slap to it: the rumor of her being the cook's kid and her being pudgy.
But, the story of her wanting the PoW and not his stammering younger brother also explains why she was so unrelenting in her hatred towards the former king. She never got over the rejection.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | May 24, 2019 12:56 AM |
I think MM's excessive use of bronzer is to highlight her being an 'exotical'. She's naturally extremely pale and if your being paraded as the Black Princess, looking racially ambiguous isn't the way to go.
Not an attack on her under any circumstance but I kind of get it...the show must go on and backsliding on this now would be foolish. She should get spray tans and be done with it.

R386, Queen Letizia looks terrible in that picture. How she manages to look both dour & sour at the time, boggles the mind.
She's definitely had some work done but it's impeccable...a proper tweak can take you from a 7.5 to a near 9 without much effort.
Now, if we're talking about a wife that properly severed the umbilical cord, it Letizia. She came to win and gave zero fucks about feelings. I like her style.
But, ummm...the rumor about her being the former king's mistress long before she took up with Felipe...lurid gossip or is there a faint glimmer of truth?

R365 Not all straight men love big tits. Most are indifferent to size unless they’re those dumb tits and ass guys. Men prefer a pretty face, then fit body. There are many straight men who prefer petite women with “tight bodies” as my very hetero cousin says. These men tend to be younger and don’t have as much gender stereotypes, if one goes with what porn searches and watching preferences show, Found this out when I worked on a psych research project that examined sexuality and porn.

Time for Granny or Charles to have Harry in for a talk. A brief reminder of exactly what other posters have written. It's rude and disrespectful to the people who go to these events to show up looking slovenly. Proper grooming is required when representing Granny to her people. It's literally 30% of the job.

R368 Yes, Tracy Anderson has an unfortunate build, from short / nonexistent neck to wide shoulders and boxy, straight torso. She and Kate Upton, Kelly Bensimon, and to lesser degree Gisele, can’t be described as curvy. Meghan has similar body type and unfortunately no workout can change that. She can however do some weight training exercises to bulk up her legs so that they balance out her boxy top half of body. Her thin legs look fine if her top half is also small in build, but it’s the opposite and both halves make each other look worse with the exaggerated disconnect.

R384 Meghan's left leg has noticeable tibial torsion compared to her right leg. There are degrees of tibial torsion that are within normal variances and sometime people have both legs with tibial torsion or just one leg more that's more affected than the other. Tibial torsion makes it harder for the woman to walk in high heels shoes, as the weight gets distributed on the lateral aspects of the affected knee(s), ankle(s), and foot/ feet. What's worse is that besides damage/ wear and tear, if you have tibial torsion and continue wearing heels then it actually makes the condition worse. Instead of stabilizing one you reach adulthood, your affected joint will worn down and become more deformed when you become older. Wearing high heels also make the tibial torsion look worse than it actually is. Here's a photo in the article demonstrating an example of woman with tibial torsion wearing heels.

I wonder if the more frequent appearances of Eugenie, Beatrice and Prince Andrew at these events is a direct result of the problems with the Sussex duo.
Perhaps the RF realize that they can't really count on Sparkle and Dim, that Charles will not interfere and seems increasingly distant about all this.
That picture at R396 does not speak well of Harry at all.

R425 - I've visited the Famine Memorial on a trip to Dublin years ago. The memorial was near my hotel so I passed it every day. Being of Irish descent, I always stopped and said a prayer for the poor souls. It was very moving. The Irish still feel quite strongly about the famine. I remember on a bus tour of the Ring of Kerry, the bus driver suddenly stopped in the middle of nowhere and told us to follow him. He took us into a field and then we saw it - a little overgrown graveyard. He said that the people died of starvation. The tour group was very quiet for the rest of the journey.

The point is if you have prominent knee joints/ tibial torsion, it means there’s some functional weakness/ instability/ inflexibility as a result of anatomical misalignment. Therefore you have far greater chance to further damage your joints and lower legs by wearing high heels. It can fuck up your legs in more ways than one if you have misaligned instead of aligned set of legs.

Some of you don't know what being a Feminist entails. It means a woman can do whatever she like, live how she sees fit and whatever comes to mind without the input of the patriarchy.
If a woman wants to be a corporate raider, feminism supports that. If she wants to be a neo-June Cleaver, feminism supports that. If she wants to be a dick hopper, guess what? Feminism supports that.
It all comes down to a woman's choice. Not only do we have clairvoyants, we've added orthopedic surgeons and accusations of drug abuse (that include a new mother that's likely nursing at that) to the list of posters lambasting a woman's CHOICE on what she wears. Some of you are exhausting.

This made my morning. Camilla is continually turning her back to Markle (while in close proximity), even lets out a small "help." She is totallly unimpressed with MeMe's shrugs one shoulder coy teehee. MM pretends not to notice but you can tell in that last look it's grating on the bitch's nerves.
I have become an admirer of Camilla's (and her inner rottweiler).

If Smeg is in it for the long haul, then she needs to start sucking up to the people who pay the bill (hint: not the Americans who buy People magazine).
If she isn't in it for the long haul, then expect to get dragged even worse.

The BRF undoubtedly cannot stand Harry's wife, and I suspect that even his father, her only former ally, has seen the light after this year and the rest of the family, including the Queen, are putting the Happy Families Photo Ops out there as best they can. They'll continue to do so until the day BP announces that Harry is leaving the BRF to "pursue artistic freedom . . ." wait, that's a different speech . . .
"for the freedom to pursue opportunites to contribute to society in the ways that we believe will be more effective outside the constraints of the royal life."
He will of course formally renounce his place in the line of succession which will then be presented to Parliament which will move it along at the speed of light, and that's why Eugenie and Bea are being cautiously moved forward, especially the decently married and more attractive Eugenie. With Harry's departure, taking the seventh in line, Archie, with him, the Yorks will all be bumped up two places. Suddenly, Andrew will be sixth, Bea seventh, and so forth.
I wonder if it's already been discussed, I think of any other reason Eugenie especially is suddenly showing up.

It would be interesting to know which other Presidents, on official visits to the UK, brought family members other than spouses along.
I seem to remember that JFK may have brought his mother. Jackie's sister Lee and her husband Stash were both at the State Dinner having been given special permission despite both being divorced and that normally being acceptable.
So, which other Presidents brought family members?

How would things be different if Margaret been the one to become Queen instead of Elizabeth?
by Anonymous | reply 523 | May 24, 2019 8:22 PM |
It's hard to say, since a Margaret tutored from toddlerhood to be dutiful and respectful, rather than indulged because of being second born, would have been a totally different person. Also, her intelligence and charm would have been put to far better use preparing for the role of Queen. She might actually have been a great success at it, and Elizabeth could have been the posh country wife she reportedly always wanted to be.
Of course, Margaret would not have been allowed to marry Tony Armstrong-Jones, which would have been a relief for all involved.

by Anonymous | reply 534 | May 24, 2019 9:27 PM |
Oh you best believe Markle will be rail thin again. I do think she blew the fuck up during pregnancy, given the evidence during the Windsor photo call and the fact that for people of her inclination being ugly (fat) is the literal, sole reason to hide away. Also the literal, sole reason we haven't seen her again. She gained a LOT of weight while pregnant, you could see the gain around her back and sides even during the Morocco trip, and it will take awhile to lose it. I'm actually kind of curious to see how she handles her image now, post-birth, because I imagine being that big was a whole new experience for her.
Her self image is based almost entirely on being hot, and it's always interesting to observe when one of those people loses the hot. She'll be thin again, as I predict, but she's probably profoundly shook by the brief experience of not-hotness, and may go overboard on compensating.

If MM is really struggling with getting her figure back, she could always follow her SIL's path and stick her fingers down her throat.
I mean, you all realize that's the real reason Kate always has bandages on her fingers? Tell-tell sign of a bulimic is the scraped fingers from the inducement of purging.
by Anonymous | reply 537 | May 24, 2019 9:34 PM |
R535, not that anyone cares, but the experience of pregnancy and birth is a stark and unavoidable lesson that we cannot control everything that happens to our bodies. It’s frustrating, especially for Type A people and those with control issues. For all her faux spiritual claptrap, I don’t think she’s equipped to “let go” and just experience things.
R537, is that what the fuss about her bandaged fingers was? Ohhhh. I feel stupid for not realizing that.
by Anonymous | reply 538 | May 24, 2019 9:37 PM |
The royal wives of Windsor usually go too thin, at least for a time.
Except Fergie, of course, did she ever get too thin? I don't remember her doing that. Diana and Kate both did it, Sophie for a minute but she got over it. No doubt Miss Chopstick "pins" will go dramatically overboard. Has she gotten out of breastfeeding yet? She'll have to bail on that to starve and drug herself thin.
by Anonymous | reply 539 | May 24, 2019 9:40 PM |
It does make one wonder if Meghan will be all that thrilled about a second pregnancy, given what she went through during the first. If she were married to a standard billionaire, she probably WOULD go the surrogate route for future babies. But she can't get away with it as a member of the BRF, all conspiracy theories to the contrary.
Honestly, the best thing she could do is go for the Spare immediately, then worry about getting her figure back when she's really and truly done with childbearing.
by Anonymous | reply 540 | May 24, 2019 9:42 PM |
R521, Honey, I'm tiny and losing 40lbs would be death. Good luck with your fat self though.
by Anonymous | reply 541 | May 24, 2019 9:47 PM |
It means you've made it as a modern royal bride the minute rumors of you using a surrogate crop up. First, Kate and now, Megan.
Only difference is we see clearly that Megan carried her first child herself due to the weight gain and the pregnancy mask and how it affected her skin.
Kate, on the other hand, had screams of surrogate from baby #1 but that's likely because she was keeping her weight down and not really letting go.
Either way, pregnancy fucks up your body and every woman heals differently.

Kate's height meant she never got as rotund during her pregnancy as many women. However, she's clearly an obsessive dieter, so I can't imagine her eating 1 calorie more than her physician instructed her to when she was knocked up.
by Anonymous | reply 544 | May 24, 2019 9:52 PM |
Kate could just be a rare naturally thin woman. I worked with a woman like that. She didn’t eat much, but did want to gain weight, and never could. She bounced back immediately after pregnancy, too.
My husband’s cousin also was always thin. She never ate, had to be forced to eat even as a baby and toddler. She didn’t even want to eat when pregnant. She is short and was always tiny. Now, at 55, she’s still thin but has thick thighs and hips. She still doesn’t eat, though.
by Anonymous | reply 545 | May 24, 2019 10:05 PM |
Interesting little bit in the Express about the significance of the Queen allowing Kate to kiss her on both cheeks at the Chelsea Flower Show. That isn't allowable publicly unless the Queen has approved it, and the public and less formal gesture indicates the Queen's estimation of Kate.
by Anonymous | reply 546 | May 24, 2019 10:10 PM |
I agree that Kate is naturally thin, but not as thin as she is these days. She used to be a much healthier (but still slender) weight when younger. The longer she dated Wills, the skinnier she got.
by Anonymous | reply 547 | May 24, 2019 10:15 PM |
Well hell, why wouldn't the Queen approve of Kate? She's created a stable home life for William and given him 3 gorgeous children. She also looks great in a tiara and doesn't famewhore. That's pretty much all you can ask of a Windsor Wife.

LOL that DM article is brutal in honesty, and good to see that some of her friends and contacts that she dropped, they're now coming out and publicly wiling to say things that are attributed to them. This will render Meg's fans unable to say it's all due to British press making shit up about their Queen. How embarrassing to Meghan to be now portrayed realistically as a failed Hollywood wannabe starlet, aging out of starlet status and fading quickly into obscurity. Fading to the point that being on a British reality show and ingratiating herself with talent show winner and British footballers was actually a path to fame and fortune. Really, you can't make this shit up, it has to be true given her situation at the time and desperation she must have felt seeing writing on the wall, her future had she not met Harry was rather bleak for someone who had dreamt of hobnobbing with famous/ wealthy. The other truths, mainly her ghosting of people who no longer served her goals, are spot on as well and I believe more would come out.

I think it's entirely possible for Meghan to be (as this thread believes) all naked ambition and narcissism, and the people in the royal family who dislike her to be ghastly too. I've never imagine any of them were nice or interesting people, apart from, possibly, the queen herself.
by Anonymous | reply 583 | May 25, 2019 1:07 AM |
R579 - I think what Meghan was naive about was how much power (and money) Harry really had - she probably didn't grasp that HRH or Windsor attached to his name(s) notwithstanding, he wasn't Henry VIII, that even the Queen wasn't Henry VIII. But I agree it was her first and biggest and possibly, eventually, fatal mistake, because she has, as they say, too much backstory not to realise her own vulnerabillity.
The attributions of the article definitely up the game here - I wonder if this is some of the stuff that the UK press has been keeping in that lower left-hand drawer I've mentioned a couple of times, waiting for Jack Sparrow's "opportune moment".
I wonder if it's just a taste of what else they have. I also wonder, as I wondered in a post above, if they've heard whispers about Harry and Meghan and the BRF having long-term plans to part ways and figure they may as well help matters along.
Can't wait to see the reaction on Celebitchy tomorrow.

The Mail published a similar expose about Kate's days as a yacht girl in 2011:
'The corporate clients loved her, especially the way she always seemed to be showing off her slender legs in tight blue shorts as she served gin and tonics and lunch.
She was working as a deckhand on 72ft sailing boats in the Solent, looking after important clients for mighty companies such as Barclays, BT, Nokia, Toshiba and Volkswagen.'
I'll post the article in the next post.

Charles is not interesting. He is an idiot.

OH SHIT. That DM article is straight fire. Seriously, I think my eyebrows are singed from reading it.
How fucking dim is Markle? Not saying Harry's not a dumbo, but how absolutely clueless do you have to be to KNOW you did all that shit, to KNOW you set out with your climbing cleats firmly fastened and then to piss of the UK tabloid press?? It's legit insane to me that she apparently took no steps at all to mollify any of the ghosted B-Z listers she left in her wake. She chummed the waters so hard it's difficult to believe she can be shocked by the Fleet Street great whites circling, but somehow I think she is.
Her moves since marrying Harry are almost a textbook example of how not to do it. My mind is actually blown.

If Bea and Edo get married, their kids will be cute. Most half-Italians like Greta Scacchi and Isabella Rossellini are attractive.

I had one British and one Northern Italian parent and I'm adorable!

I almost have to be impressed with the Daily Mail's chutzpah (the way I used to be impressed with Markle's climbing skills, before I realized 80% of her success was a combo of dumb luck and Harry being a fucking dimwit). Lubes like this:
"'Matt couldn't believe a star like Meghan would even know who he was, so he was very flattered and they chatted a little bit online before she suggested meeting up,' a source said."
SHAMELESS. Utterly, deliciously shameless. "A star like Meghan..." Oh, God, the shade.

You Americans are hilarious. They posted an identical articles about Kate exposing her yachting past. Made in Chelsea is a classy reality show. Much better than working on yachts, like Kate.

"Lubes"?? "Quotes" - weirdest Freudian slip ever, I guess. Soz.

Alas, R594, Bea is no Ingrid Bergman.
It is highly unlikely that Bea will have good looking children given her unfortunate genetic contribution to these children.

R599 - Perhaps that's why she's determined to breed with the Edo. Somewhat like Cristina Onassis breeding with that good-looking play boy whom she knew would never be faithful to her, and who kept the beautiful Swedish model on the side. At least their daughter, Athina. was much better looking than her ill-starred mother. Ari Onassis must have been a brutal father to a fat ugly daughter.

R445 Damn it! Oh, well. You tried. The pay seemed really low for the work load and stress. Can you write the Queen and ask whether you can get a job taking care of her swans?

So do we now have an exact timeline on Hazbean's first meeting?
"In June 2016, she came to London as part of a month-long trip to Europe with friends. Lizzie Cundy saw her again. She said: 'By now she had become friends with the Made In Chelsea set and she was hoping to get a role on the show. She was close to show stars Millie Mackintosh and Jessica Woodley...
'She had also got to know TV presenter Natalie Pinkham and Bidders — Adam Bidwell — who was a friend of Harry's from that trip to Vegas...
'She still wasn't much more successful in Hollywood terms and was setting her sights on coming here to live if she could. She wanted it bad, and she did still want an English boyfriend.' Meghan met with Piers Morgan and spent 90 minutes drinking at his local, the Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington. She asked his advice on the media and requested a favour — that she be interviewed on his breakfast show, Good Morning Britain, on her next visit to help raise her profile...
Then she went to have dinner with friends at 5 Hertford Street in Mayfair. She met Prince Harry at the dinner that night, and Piers never heard from her again."
If Piers Morgan ever gave away the date of that pub meeting (and he probably has, I'm just too lazy to check his Twitter), we can almost narrow down Hazbean's first meeting to an exact day.
And then there's this quote:
"By October 2016, after she had been with Prince Harry for three months, she sent Gina an email to say that she was giving up her career and terminating their contract.
Gina later asked Meghan if it was possible to use a photo of her from the youth summit, and was hurt to receive a reply from Meghan's legal team. As Gina said: 'Meghan likes to move on.'"
So met in mid June 2016 and she's giving up her career and terminating her relationship with her agent ~4 months later. They must have been engaged by then. MM is an idiot (a very, very lucky and ambitious idiot), but she's not the type of idiot to ditch her career before she knows for SURE she's hooked her fish.
Wow. She was even more ruthless and focused than I'd assumed. Befriending people like Natalie Pinkham and other people known to be friends with Haz?
I genuinely wonder what he makes of all this. I bet she's just looking wounded and victimized and he's enraged at the press for intruding and "telling lies." Someone already mentioned it in this thread but his dimness might end up being a kind of armor in this situation. He's so dumb and so besotted that he probably won't even consider that this story in the DM is well sourced (named sources!) and very likely all true.
He looks so bad in this, though. And he was in his 30s when he met her, no virgin ingenue himself. I'm slightly embarrassed for him. He really got taken. God, the drama.

R572 william and Harry should just wear toupees. They make natural-looking ones now. Both guys woud look so much better and younger. They should not do whatever process David Beckham used. Becks dark "hair" looks awful. He looks like Wooly Willy.

The receipts trickling out really ups the skank ante for Markle.

Is the man Fergie's clinging to in R334's picture a giant? She looks like a little girl next to him. A drunk little girl.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
