I've been watching One Day At A Time repeats every night on Fetv. I'm shocked at how ugly, annoying and untalented she is.
Bonnie Franklin was shit
by Anonymous | reply 70 | June 9, 2019 5:50 AM |
As a junior high kid, I had to turn that shit off.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 20, 2019 1:34 PM |
Yeh really disliked her
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 20, 2019 1:35 PM |
Somewhere there’s music playing!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 20, 2019 1:38 PM |
We haven't had a Bonnie/ODAAT thread for
*checks notes*
A whole 30 minutes
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 20, 2019 1:41 PM |
And somewhere there’s always a cheap seat to play to.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 20, 2019 1:42 PM |
OP = Shelly Fabares
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 20, 2019 2:10 PM |
Yeah she was awful
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 20, 2019 2:16 PM |
It's why so many left after one season
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 20, 2019 2:17 PM |
I actually worked with both her and Mac…BF was indeed a cunt but MP was amazing- lovely, humble, full of great stories….loved her...
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 20, 2019 2:31 PM |
She is like me except the show was not in the top 5
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 20, 2019 2:34 PM |
Hollywood always promotes negative stereotypes of groups that scare them, and nothing scares a Hollywood Jew more than an independent woman who is not his sister.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 20, 2019 2:46 PM |
Dammit, Julie, stop fucking your father!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 20, 2019 3:21 PM |
Perhaps we should discuss this from the perspective of ‘what types of women appealed to Norman Lear that he cast in his shows?’.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 20, 2019 3:23 PM |
That's interesting, r13 -- Lear seemed to prefer most the professional white males. His women were all fleshed out later.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 20, 2019 3:26 PM |
A description of All's Fair, a single season sit-com by Norman Lear:
"The style of the show is "almost constant hysteria, the rapid pacing set to the sounds of argumentative shouting""
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 20, 2019 3:51 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 21, 2019 4:42 AM |
Someone take Bonnie's fried egg titties off the griddle already. They're done.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 21, 2019 4:46 AM |
A most pleasing mushroom head
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 21, 2019 5:02 AM |
We wanted to write her out of our show, but we had gone through so many Marilyns there were no other actresses left
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 21, 2019 8:08 AM |
Dammit, OP! Leave Bonnie alone!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 22, 2019 5:57 AM |
She was ugly and obnoxious and she thought she had a hot body.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 22, 2019 12:53 PM |
Her mushroom hair and fried egg tittie-boom-booms made the market for omletts rise.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 22, 2019 7:16 PM |
R22-She had the same hairstyle as Nicholas Bradford on Eight Is Enough.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 22, 2019 7:30 PM |
It was her crossed eyes that really set me off. The show wasn't that great except for the pervy handy man.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 22, 2019 7:35 PM |
And her fluttering blinking she would do if she thought someone was stupid or she was trying to make a point. We get it Bonnie, you think you are smarter than everyone else.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 22, 2019 7:45 PM |
No bras, cameltoes, incessant chatterings....this show drove me to drink at age ten.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 22, 2019 8:30 PM |
The 1970 clown clothes weren't the worst however, that Jimmy Walker "dynamite" show had the worst clown clothing, and Brady bunch.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 22, 2019 8:33 PM |
I'm glad you're finally raising the topic of her, OP, because we NEVER discuss her on datalounge!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 22, 2019 8:34 PM |
She was like the emporer's new clothes, everyone knew she sucked total ass but no one would admit it. Everything about her annoyed me. From running to open that front door in a matchbox size of an apartment (it was, like, three steps to that damned front door), to that mushroom hairdo, to that giant frog mouth, to her always seeming angry about everything. And the way she would draw out lines in that "whiny" way. HATED her as an actress.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 22, 2019 8:48 PM |
Apparently Norman Lear's shrewish and bossy wife Frances fought CONSTANTLY at home with their teenage daughter in the 1970s, which is why he was interested in doing the show the way it was done. It was as if he wanted to foist his wife's and daughter's communication problems on the entire US population.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 22, 2019 8:50 PM |
And Frances turned out to be mentally ill.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 22, 2019 9:04 PM |
You're right, r28.
Datalounge should change its name to Bonnielounge!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 23, 2019 6:58 AM |
FUCK YOU r32
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 23, 2019 4:37 PM |
What is it about Bonnie that so repels, yet at the same time attracts gay men?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 23, 2019 5:28 PM |
She's a hausfrau who thinks she's a diva, displaying her failed masquerade on the public airwaves.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 23, 2019 5:31 PM |
She sexually harasses men and gets away with it.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 23, 2019 5:36 PM |
I was the ONLY reason anyone watched. Even the gays liked ME
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 23, 2019 6:46 PM |
I think the gays also enjoyed watching the trainwreck in slow-motion that was Mackenzie Phillips
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 23, 2019 7:02 PM |
r39
It was me the gays liked
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 24, 2019 4:52 PM |
What about me? I actually am gay.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 24, 2019 4:59 PM |
Bonnie has a strong psychic pull for gay men of a certain generation because her shrill hectoring and breasts jouncing loosely in her cowl neck sweaters turned us gay.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 24, 2019 5:05 PM |
r40
You are overlooking the fact that you are ugly
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 24, 2019 5:05 PM |
HAHAHAHAHA R42. God I hated that thirsty, annoying kid. He was also one of those actors they tried to shove in our faces. Along with that fugly Danielle Brisebois. Yuck.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 24, 2019 5:12 PM |
To Franklin's credit, she didn't allow her ego to completely take over the show a la Linda Lavin the last few seasons of Alice. Aside from a few misbegotten talent show episodes, it was a pretty well rounded show. Franklin didn't even appear in half of the last season.
Speaking of Alice, watching Vera's wedding episode the other day. I love how Vera's entrance is given ten seconds while Linda Lavin gets a several minute long song done in close up a la Joan Crawford.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 24, 2019 5:15 PM |
r43
Brisebois is a very talented singer / songwriter. She worked a lot with Gregg Alexander and has two highly sought after albums, 'Arrive All Over You' (get it?) and 'Portable Life.'
She was a good actress and good singer/songwriter
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 24, 2019 5:45 PM |
There’s a legit genre of gay porn based on the Schneider character.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 24, 2019 5:56 PM |
Quite big tits.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 24, 2019 6:02 PM |
She was awful!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 24, 2019 6:08 PM |
Even I refused to go on her show.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | June 4, 2019 4:52 AM |
She was my least favorite element of that mediocre show. Even when I was a 10 year old fag, I never found it funny.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | June 4, 2019 4:55 AM |
Jesus Christ OP fucking stop it. You're not funny at all.
Enough.
FF OP.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 4, 2019 4:58 AM |
Honestly OP, you can't stand her and yet you keep watching her stupid show every night? Do you not have anything else to do?
Anyway I'm gay and I was completely immune to her and always thought the whole show was ridiculous so although I laughed at R41's comment I don't agree with him.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | June 4, 2019 6:16 AM |
And I'm shocked at how mean-spirited, narrow and obsessive OP is.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | June 4, 2019 6:54 AM |
I always got the vibe that she was a bitch? Has anyone heard anything about her negative of positive?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 4, 2019 7:13 AM |
R51
He's funnier than Bonnie ever was
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 4, 2019 8:35 AM |
Exactly R56.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 4, 2019 2:57 PM |
[quote]She's a hausfrau who thinks she's a diva, displaying her failed masquerade on the public airwaves.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 4, 2019 11:25 PM |
My ex did her makeup on some project and said she was a sweetie.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 5, 2019 12:54 AM |
You’d be upset, too, if you were made to wear itchy polyester sweaters and dirty pantyhose all the time.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 5, 2019 1:43 AM |
There was was something about that show that forced you to watch it even though it was horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 5, 2019 3:33 AM |
She looked like she had a smelly cunt. How the hell did she get cast No appeal at all. Talk to Mary Louise Wilson. She has stories
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 5, 2019 4:11 AM |
Is it really any mystery that Mackenzie Phillips needed to practically OD on drugs just to face working with her each day?
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 5, 2019 6:06 AM |
Remember we don't like BONNIE FRANKLIN, that doesn't apply to the character of Ann Romano, well not necessarily.
Don't count the Ann Romano threads as part of the Bonnie Franklin threads.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 5, 2019 6:43 AM |
I saw Bonnie Franklin in Applause and Carousel and liked her a lot. I hated Ann Romano. But I guess because it was one of those dreadful Norman Lear shows that always had a message.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 5, 2019 6:53 AM |
I think since most of us have only seen Bonnie on ODAAT and have missed most of the other projects in her significant corpus (save her Applause number at the Tonys, where her characterization seems to bear an uncanny resemblance to MS. Romano), we tend to conflate Bonnie and Ann...
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 5, 2019 2:02 PM |
Why does DL NEVER EVER get tired of talking about Bonnie Franklin? It baffles me.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 5, 2019 3:50 PM |
R67: In all fairness, they’re not exactly rushing to put those stage shows out on disc.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | June 5, 2019 3:52 PM |
She was a nun on Y and R.
