by Anonymousreply 2May 12, 2019 10:12 AM

Can you imagine getting a resume from Kale or Kiwi? Into the trash can it goes. Delete!

by Anonymousreply 3May 12, 2019 10:12 AM

Isn't "Liam" Irish, r1, and a nickname for "William"?

by Anonymousreply 4May 12, 2019 10:13 AM

[quote]Can you imagine getting a resume from Kale or Kiwi? Into the trash can it goes. Delete!

I would not automatically delete a "Basil," however.

Why not?

by Anonymousreply 6May 12, 2019 10:15 AM

The name Jackson needs to go away.

by Anonymousreply 18May 12, 2019 11:14 AM

It’s agree, Jackson is truely terrible r18. What’s wrong with just naming a baby Jack? Do people realise Jackson is a surname and Jack is not the diminutive of that surname? Jack was once the nickname for boys named John. Now Jack is a name on its on right. Jackson on the other hand is awful.

by Anonymousreply 19May 12, 2019 11:27 AM

Turmeric is awesome.

by Anonymousreply 20May 12, 2019 11:32 AM

"Clementine" is not a food name, it's been around forever, as in, "Continental Clementine, Oh my darlin'!"

I was at a party years ago and some wit said, "I can't wait till people start naming their babies AMBIEN!"

Has anyone met an Ambien in the world?

[quote]Isn't "Liam" Irish, [R1], and a nickname for "William"?

Liam is short for Uilliam which is Irish. The English version is William.

Liam only reached #10 in popularity in the UK and that was in 1996. Both William and Henry's revival was due to the royal children at the time. In America Liam entered the top ten boy names in 2012 at #6 and has been climbing ever since.

[quote] Never met an American Liam

Met my first Liam in the 80s - the son of my sister’s next door neighbor. My sister’s oldest son became friends with him and a few years later I heard my neighbor calling her son, his friend and my nephew out the back door. “Liam, Kieran, Francois! Time to come out of the pool.”

I turned to my mother and said, “Remember when boys were named Jimmy, Johnny and Billy?”
