What do we think of Riley Keough?

Just watched the trailer for her upcoming movie "The Lodge," and it looks quite good. I've only seen her in "It Comes At Night," and thought she was quite believable in it. She's most famous for "Mad Max" and "The Girlfriend Experience" series, the latter of which earned her a Golden Globe nom. Daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, granddaughter of Elvis--I think she is quite pretty--kind of like a prettier version of her mother. Do we think she's talented, or a product of pure, unadulterated nepotism?

I think she's pretty sometimes in stills but very unattractive in motion. More people have the reverse problem. Her eyes are hard and cold and dead on film. I'm sure she witnessed some horrific stuff growing up, but I don't want to be forced to imagine what nightmares she was thrust into as a child every time she's on screen. And I can't help but wonder about that because of her cold, hard, dead eyes. So, I'd just rather she wasn't on screen.

What makes you think she witnessed "horrific stuff" growing up, R3? Because of her mom being in $cientology, I'm guessing?

Love her! She was fantastic in The Girlfriend Experience as the Aspie prostitute. I think she's beautiful, and can definitely see both Elvis and Priscilla in her.

She can't be both?

An obvious product of nepotism. No one would give this Plain Jane a second look if it weren't for her famous lineage. She acts the same way in EVERY film, and I've seen her in a lot of films. She's best in movies like 'American Honey' and 'Logan Lucky' where she portrays the poor white trash that she is. Her husband is a cutie, though.

That being said, I will still see the movie because of the writer/director team behind it.

Yikes at [R7], that red hair does not do her any favors.

She looks like Elvis and Priscilla and I've not seen a lot of her (I want to say she had a small role in Magic Mike but I'm not interested in Googling right now), but I thought she was interesting to look at. She'll likely never hit one out of the park, but I don't mind her on film.

I don't know if she qualifies as "poor white trash" given the Presley empire in her maternal lineage, but according to her Wikipedia page at least, her father (a basically unknown musician) was poor throughout her upbringing, and she lived a very different life with him than she did with her mother.
"I grew up very privileged with my mother, but my dad didn’t live like that. And I think experiencing both sides has been helpful. My father had mattresses on the floor of his apartments. He lived in cabins and trailer parks. He just didn’t have much money."
